Literally said this to my coworker 8 years for 17 mins?? That’s it could have wrote another album during that time. But I sure am glad we got some new Nails 🤘🏻
Yup! Saw you talk about it in Barry's chat and I'm glad it's just more of the same good ol Nails we've known and loved since Unsilent Death, if it ain't broke don't fix it.
@@SuicidalGrind, which is what I'll go to when I'm in the mood for Nails. Liked Unsilent Death, *Loved* Abandon All Life, liked You Will Never Be One of Us (production prevented me from loving it). Still trying to digest this one. All I know is it didn't immediately grab like Abandon All Life did.
Idk what it is called, but there is like this faint echo/reverb background sound that Nails songs have that I just love. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Like it's part of the guitar tone or a pedal or something.
It actually helped me connect with my fellow human beings on a more mature emotional level, elevating my empathy, and forging me into an overall more balanced human being
Feels more thrash inspired in places that their previous work, especially give me the painkiller, which isn't a genre I'm that big on but I'm still really feeling this. Thanks for uploading in full! Will be buying a physical release after I get paid
I honestly forgot about nails since I'm listening to so many different bands...but the moment this album opened I was like hell yea. That's nails alright. Also...the snare has more echo this time around...solid touch
Nails never dissapoints but one question. Why the fuck have so many people be hung up on how long songs and albums are?Is there a mandate that all songs in any type of music have to be at least 3 minutes or something?Especially when its comes to hardcore, punk, grindcore, powerviolence. Those geners have always had short songs. So why the fuck are so many people shocked when an album is like 20 minutes or less.I didnt realize there were stipulations to art.
you don't have to worry about that when you're in grindcore. the only people that worry about that are normies that ended up here one way or another. probably because of tiktok which is ironic because you'd think that app would condition everyone into being into short content more.
NAILS is becoming the "Radiohead of powerviolence / extreme metal" Anytime they release something, you think they will deliver before you even listen, but once you start listening to the new album it actually ends up EXCEEDING YOUR EXPECTATIONS
Great point. During Radiohead’s prime they were prolific in putting out multiple elite albums. Most bands give you 1 or 2. Nails now has 4. They might end up Beatles of heavy music 😅
I just finished listening to this 3 times in a row while on my morning run and I think that's the fastest I've ran in quite some time...well worth the wait. 🤘
Good album Nails. I listen to this album everytime I drive to work. It takes me 17 minutes to get there and this album is 17 minutes long. Im not so fond of the super fast parts as it gets lost in a sea of distortion and ringing cymbals...but nobody does Breakdowns or 2step parts better than Nails imo. Vocals are noticeably more gutteral and phlegmy than their previous works. Almost Converge-esque. The guitar lick and tone on Give me the Painkiller is fucking epic. Reminds me of 80's Heavy Metal like Judas Priest. This album felt very very metal...get the Battlevests out. All in all, really cool to see Nails back.
MY NAME IS Brad and I’ll just put it to all you METALCORE HEADS out there….i heard nails on 93X radio Minneapolis St Paul station on Saturdays and they ARE THE SHIT! Big fan of this group of dudes! Metal on metal heads☠️🎸🥁😠😡😤🤬🎤🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Well done Nails, you continue to elevate the unrelenting abrasive nature your known for. My favorite track is Lacking The Ability To Process Empathy. The track Dehumanzed ripped my soul out and beat the shit out of my other form then tossed it back into it's vessel.
Crazy to think how much the world has changed since the last Nails album, and yet Nails is still the same pummeling force that they've always been, with a slight variation in song structure, and more of a speed metal vibe. I think I still like You will never be one of us more, but this will be my top spin for September.
@@Yusifer100 Don't get me wrong, its a banger and i have the orange vinyl on its way to me. I dunno, i guess i'm just being picky. The last thing they released is the single 'I Dont Want To Know You' and Endless Resistance with Max Cavalera i would argue are the best two tracks they have ever done. The production on that, its bring down mountains heavy. I was hoping for more of that vibe
Yeah I get you. Each release sounds slightly different so it’s preference. And that last tune with Max definitely went hard. I’m really into Todd’s more high pitched, unhinged style vocals that he does on Abandon All Life which there is some of that on this one. As for the run time of the record, I don’t mind it being short, as the songs just don’t fuck around and the length of the record reflects that. But like I said it’s all down to preference with Nails as you ultimately know what you’re gonna get, just depends on the production style.
eight years for seventeen minutes? honorably 💪

Love the Converge influence on some of the tracks.
Kurt Ballou produced the album, too.

Do you mean like a high pitch distortion or something from the guitars?
@SinisterJacob I think it's from a pedal. Like a faint ccccchhhhhhh sound
