Christopher Mad Dog Russo is the best thing to ever happen to First Take. Genius move by Stephen A. to bring this guy in once a week.
He won't last long....two guys that yell over each other and crave the spotlight. Steven A. is not a baseball guy.....his best bet would be to let Russo overshadow him but with his ego it's unlikely. I loved Mike and Mike back in the day but I don't think either one is as good today as they were together years ago. Actually....I didn't even think they were good when they got back together.... Francesca made guest appearances and to me they didn't have the same mojo anymore. I don't think they'd offer anything different today. Back then....they were more outspoken and controversial than just about anyone in the business. Today...however.... everyone in sports media is trying to create drama and build ratings Basically.....what made them different in yesteryear is now the norm.

Also if he's on only once a week, it won't get old. I do think having him on every day would be an issue.
And aparrently baseball is on an upswing in popularity lately, so I think ESPN is going to push it more.

@@ww8407 Braves won BEFORE you started watching, in 1995. Then they won in 2021...So, once since you started watching. "All we do is win" is a false statement. That's 24 years - since you began watching, 26 since '95 - that they did not win.
If anything you should say all the Yankees and Red Sox do is win since they won 4 times each since 1997.
I have to agree here. Growing up in NYC everyone was a Yankee fan back in the 90’s. Now I run into all kinds of fans in NYC. Mets, Dodgers, Angels, even some Rockies fans lol. Yankees dont have that same energy as before. Mets fans, even through bad years show more love to their team
We stayed loyal for a long time allot of heartbreak but Cohen is a fan and isn’t looking at the salary cap we will win maybe this year or next or the years after that the ny Mets will continue to be a contender for years to come….watch
There may not be as many Yankees fans in NYC as the 90’s (when they were winning) but Yankees fans are literally world wide, whether it be true fans or bandwagons, we’re everywhere. I’m from Maryland and every time I go to an Orioles game, the stadium is packed with more Yankees fans

It's easy to make fun of them in April but the reality is the team has slowly started to take over since 2015. @@mattybaseball4418 DeGrom health certainly an issue.....if he gets healthy and pitches June to October the Mets are the most dangerous team this year. Nobody can match their top 2 in the rotation.....and Bassett at 3 is possibly the best #3 this year.

Brandon Nimmo is a PROBLEM...He's one of the best leadoff/contact hitters in baseball. The guy just needs to stay healthy. Jeff McNeil and J.D. Davis aren't scrubs either? Dominic Smith had a down year but is bonafide professional power hitter when right.

My family is mostly Yankees fans and they certainly tried to make me one. But I hated baseball when I was a kid. The Yanks remind me of everything that I hated about baseball. I became a fan of the sport with the Mets. Yes, the Yanks are one of the most successful sports teams ever. But they don’t excite me. The Mets with all of their drama, heartbreak and underdog status have always been more intriguing. Plus I prefer orange and blue.
