I love how you spun changing the tone into a good thing cuz that’s really the reason most ppl don’t get it
It sounds like the pf8 removed some of the weird resonance from the high frequencies. It also got rid of some of the room reverb which allowed for a clearer upfront vocal. Nice
Agree with everything you said here i got the kaotica eyeball and i can defo say the PF8 and koatica are near enough the same so much easier when mixing vocals as well! dope vocals bro! keep it up!
It’s a great concept and I can imagine scenarios where it would really work but I found there was a much richer and more exciting sound without it personally
I think without pf8 vocals sounds exciting because of the room reverb that the mic is picking. But when we use compressors they will be compressing reverb along with the vocals making the nasty frequencies of the room more loud and prominent. Then when we master our track at louder levels vocals are hard to listen to. That's why I think dryer the vocals the better.

I thought the same, the vocals were more fuller without it, but yeah it’s going to pick up sharp frequencies, specially if you record with reverb. A middle ground would be perfect.

its good bro but I feel like portable booth with foam behind it in the corner gives better sound for me catches everything for me and doesn't force it into the capsule like the isocubes do

@@BukanIbuMu does it just take away the high end reverb and leave the rest sounding all muddy and bassy? Just asking cos I've done up my recording space but I think I used too dense rockwool and now I hear subtle high pitch reverb, I'm thinking one of these will fix that, unless it's doing something else to the sound
@@orangemaniabrother2232 this pf8 just adds comb filter and mud. I bought pf8 because I saw it on local studio. How foolish am I. Now I won't even use this anymore. I get so much better result without it because my room is already treated with a lot of rockwool & a bit of acoustic foam.
@@BukanIbuMu yeah, I was thinking of putting some foam on top of my panels but they're already really thick as it is, I thought using the pf8 might mean I didn't need to. I'll see what I come up with lol

Great video, I have the rode podmic, and when I adjust my gain to picks up background sounds outside my room, could this help me isolate the sounds? That’s I only picks up my voice
if you truly want to get a natural reverb sound you can just take it off. i think its a great investment

I am also a VO actor, so it is my open living room space behind my set up that concerns me with the portable isolation booths because I cant treat the walls in the huge living room all around

Bye bye linear phase, hello comb filtering. They don't work, they're absolutely fucking killing your microphone. Yeah, it will get rid of reflections but will add a whole host of even worse problems. This is a product aimed exclusively for amateurs. Mate, look at your room, you have absolutely no treatment.
Obviously functionality and results is what matters. Not Aesthetics. Its so huge. How about a far more dense absorption material and a smaller ball?. Of camera this is great. On camera? No way.
Iconic Mars is 💯 % better than Alctron.
