All past decades had many different sounds and styles than the previous and next decade. For example, a song of 1989 was completely different than a song of 1991, only 2 years apart.
And now? Songs today sound exactly the same as songs from 2010.
The early '00s managed to have their own different styles. Nu metal and pop punk where two of the music genres that characterized that decade. But from the late '00s until now, I can't tell if a song is from 2011 or 2021. The all sound the same. Even from old bands, like Green Day. No difference to their sound for 20 years now.
This randomly appeared on my youtube "feed". This is VERY 2000's.
@@rcarfang2 I was in my 20s in the '00s, and I had never heard of this singer, and all these years I'm watching You Tube, I had never encountered anything from her, not even if I was watching related stuff like Avril Lavigne. And it just popped up in the recommended videos just yesterday.

Before Yujin covered, I had listened to the song thousands of times in my high school days.
Skye Sweetnam was 15 during the time of the video.
This song brings back so many memories of my school life. I used to hear this song every morning when one of my classmate's was playing it out loud from her Sony Walkman.

Lots of great music video selections on that channel back in early 2000s.

You could put this song at the beginning of any early 2000s comedy, as the credits flash on screen, and it would fit.
I miss her! I know it sounds selfish, but I wish she'd go back to just making music as Skye Sweetnam again, although I wish her the best no matter what she does. I loved and admired her as Skye Sweetnam and still do! She was so beautiful, so bold, so talented and championed being different. I wonder what happened - what led to the change?
