My wife and I are 66 and we love good pop and rock whoever is doing it. I discovered the Hey Monday CD a few years back and loved every song. Two days after getting it, I looked out my window at the El Rey theater accros the street. What did I see? Hey Monday playing that night. I was born in 1954 and grew up, of course, with the Beatles, Rolling Stones, CCR etc. Great music. But the golden age for pop rock was, in my opinion, the period from the mid-90s to the late '00's.
