Will Day is a gun player. My hope is that he leads the Hawks to a flag one day...I'm not pushing Sicily out as captain but Will Day just drips leadership qualities and skill. He's a player everyone wants in their team.

100% Hawthorn went through this 2008-2009 and with list improvements and further development we went on to bigger and better things with the threepeat. Not every club will do the same but it doesn't have to be all doom and gloom.
@@Hunty49Probably would. They did it with an aging list and were still competitive in 2019-2020 finishing 5th in both of those years. But retirements and a further aging list, not to mention a horrid injury run completely derailed them.

After gold Coast game they checked out and worst injuries and only 2 games from 3rd .si many overrated teams .. Carlton had 24pts b4 season started . North wce rich twice

Great analysis guys. Yes we need prime time games and even when we were struggling I could see that we were a faced paced team and very watchable if we got things right. The new addition by the genius Sam Mitchell has fully completed our game plan and it’s all working beautifully. We’ve been a bit of a sleeping giant for a few years in the afl but can’t wait for the next era of powerful hawks!

They still have the oldest list. They were great last year and won it just in time because their best players are on the way out apart from Daicos.

They are ancient and have no picks/barely any young talent coming up. Worst part is trading away first year picks for 28yo small forwards and trading out your good young small forward

@@effkay3691 They were betting on going back to back, trading their picks shows their thought process was on the now. Now they have basically no good young players outside of daicos. Trading Ollie Henry out was also a big mistake, they've needed young forwards and continue to get rid of them for old players
Port got slammed when they just scrapped over the line against the Hawks yet when you see the games since they managed to pull a win where most haven’t including the current premiers, just goes to show you shouldn’t slam a team when they struggle against a lower opponent because that opponent might be much better than their position indicates

Hawks have made the switch between development to settled. Plus not to mention a couple of A graders they might bring in during the off season trade period. Regarding Collingwood, I honestly believe there has been mismanagement of the preseason after the deep finals campaign. Every single player over 28 should be on the trade table on that Collingwood list.

As a Freo supporter I'm loving the Lauchie Schultz trade
The pies last year & most of 2022 usually came from behind & scrapped over the line at the final bell, including their flag in 2023. I cant recall them really blowing teams out of the water to win by massive margins. Now its biting them on the bum. When teams get a jump on them, often they dont have enough in the tank for a come back like they often did in 22 & 23.
They are one of the top in form teams at the moment and what has been easy about their draw?
At the start of the season it was ranked the 5th hardest after finishing 3rd last
Carlton Essendon and Geelong have had way easier fixtures
This Collingwood list was more experienced than people realised when McRae took the job they need to land some FA to turn the ship around because their U/23 crop is bang average

Had the worst run with injuries I’ve ever seen from any team in a season and a first time coach after our last one ditched midway through a season and we’re at the bottom. hawthorn are still out of the 8 are they not? the way this panel make out they are top 4. yes they are playing good footy to watch but they have had a pretty soft draw and few injuries to speak of. the pattern of teams finishing bottom 6 the getting a run is pretty consistent. As for ginnivan he chose to leave Collingwood because he was afraid of competition for spots. I love how he goes about it but it's good for footy but there is alot of water to go under the bridge with him yet.
