Always use antiseize on stainless fasteners. It greatly reduces the risk of galling. Stainless can gall even before it is tightened. Been there done that.
Awesome video and install. Never seen that type of bracket before. Nice and clean. I mounted some similar led ditch lights and found the stainless steel carriage bolts too long for my ocd ways. I went to the hardware store and purchased two shorter ones.
You didn't have to disconnect the batter before plugging in the wires? And does it matter if you plug the Pos or the Neg wire first? Don't wanna blow up the battery LOL
Great video! I got some ditch light mounts from a other local company and was afraid I'd have to cut up and splice into Diode's beautiful harness to make them work. So glad that's not the case! I might suggest putting the harness in a piece of conduit/shielding running through the engine bay. Vibration and motion can wear through the electrical sheathing pretty quick, especially when ziptied to metal. Loved the rest!
Just picked up a set of these same pods for my 2014 XV. Thanks to y’all I was able to find the brackets I needed from SMK to complete the install! #cheers
I got the same lights and heavy duty cable as u did with same brackets. This cable is thick as hell. Did you have to trim off the outer cover and then wrapped in electrical tape to get it to fit under the cable slot on the bracket?
Im having the same issue. Did you find a resolution. In the vid it looks like the individual wires are exposed. I even tried drilling the bracket to make it bigger. Still tight when closing the door.
I love the position of those lights, much better than hood mounted
Any wind noise from those lights?
Adding a spacer to the light might give it enough height to shoot over the hood.

You never showed the switch install!

I was thinking of maybe a little black rubber or silicone nubby thingy for the end of the bolt, but shorter bolts is better. Lol
Great spot to place them! Any anti theft deterrents ideas?
that is the cleanest install i have seen anyone do on lights. i would get bolt caps for the shiny bolt that sticks out of the bottom of the light
These sport or pros?

The mount for the lights is excellent,
There seems to be no glare at all from the lights on the hood.

Nice trick with the tape on the wrench / nut
What are those brackets you used
Can you tell me what wiring package you used?
Great video. I lost one of the 7mm spacers does anyone know where I can purchase another one?
Similar for the Impreza?
The Crosstrek is just an Impreza with a lift kit installed at factory
Thanks man! Waiting for companies to make these for the Forester they’re supposed to come out soon. Any crazy wind noise or mpg impacts?

How long did it take your lights to come in

@@therichshow831 I trimmed off the outer and then wrapped it tightly with electrical tape and that did the job.
Looks really nice! You think they will hols up in carwashes?
For the intro you can just do Cody things like your smill is enough 🤣 with a little "hey" that we can barely hear 👌
