@@ALMAX65 You notice they told him to go backstage and then he comes out again. Guess what? That wasn't 1 minute later. That was a while later. In which he got his music and they miked him and probably let him warm up in back. Now hopefully you get it.
They also told him he'd be miked as a 'random' person to catch comments made during the show, I believe.

@@pdoylemi it was a very surprising performance for Him. Dealing with the situation when he always avoided performing his songs in public was a huge challenge. He has enormous potential and an extraordinary voice. In my eyes he is already a star.

Whenever there's a time when a person finishes singing and there's dead silence, it means that people are so amazed and emotional, they can't even breathe, let alone applaud.
I totally agree! There was absolute and total silence that was deafening! The only thing louder was the roar of the crowd when they finally collected themselves and realized what they just witnessed. BRAVO DAD!!!

I'm a Father to a perfect 4 year old girl and my goodness.. I started tearing up just hearing those girls talk on stage, I love singing to my daughter and she loves it too.. I don't think I've ever teared up this quickly. Beautiful, sir! Adorable angels and even more, an amazing Dad and Father! :)

@@DavidRodriguez-gl5pn not so fast: many of the auditions are pre-auditioned, but what happens in the auditorium is real. We didn't see 90% of what actually happened: we saw the final edit. This was real and made the edit. Now don't be such a cynic.

The greatest accolade is that NO ONE - in the audience or at the judge's table - interrupted with applause nor shouting AND the very moving delay after the end before the start of the applause, shouting & standing ovation.
I'm glad that somebody caught that. It's something that I believe Simon has called the perfect silence. He has sucked everybody in with his singing and his songwriting and emotionally. The audiance just don't want to leave even when the song is done.

Don't worry everything will be ok. I went through the same thing, when I meet my daughter's future husband, I let him know the consequences of what would happen if he ever got out of line with my daughter. 15 years on, my daughter still tells me how much she is in love with my son-in-law. I am so lucky to have such a great guy who loves my daughter as much as I do.
Just make sure you have a conversation with your future son-in-law. All the best from another dad.

Don't know how many times I have watched this and every time it brings tears to my eyes. As a father of two girls aged 4 and 1 , I resonate with every words he sang. Absolutely heartwarming. And amazing are those little girls ❤️
I did a survey where I clipped the video just to the song; made it in audio form showed it to 3 label executives, who all agree the writing composition and execution of the lyrics was a 3.5/10. Therefore without the whole background of the children, he would of tanked so far

This song, had me bawling my eyes out! He’s clearly an amazing father, and one I wish I had! I don’t have children yet, but this was very moving! I never had a dad growing up, didn’t exactly have a mom either, so this song hit me hard! Way to go Nick! Don’t stop singing, and I hope your performance gave you back your confidence!
