The first 4 sets here, the first 3 sets of their 2011 RG final and the WB 2007 and 2008 finals are all the best tennis shot-making ever. I have to admit that this match is their best in terms of quality and shot-making. I think people tend to forget what an amazing 2009 Roger had at the GSs. He made the final of all 4, winning 2 and having great chances of winning the other 2. What is even more perplexing is that he could have not won any of them. There was a great amount of luck and unluck in all 4 for him that year. Amazing upload again, thank you!
He wasn't really unlucky, he's just not strong enough mentally.
The RG2009 final was pretty conclusive, but AO2009 and USO2009 were both matches where Federer was favored and could’ve definitely gone his way. At AO I think Nadal just played so well and was too clutch, mixed with Federer not being so stable under pressure; the third set really decided the match. I think Fed was hoping for Rafa to be worn out from his 5 hour SF vs Verdasco. As for USO, Federer had the wrong tactics and Delpo made him pay. On paper, Federer should’ve won that match regardless; he matches up fairly well with Delpo on a hard court and his game is built for that type of player. But he tried to go forehand to forehand too much; had too much pride to go with the classic “hit to his backhand” strategy, and paid the price.
As for Wimbledon 2009, Federer was very comfortable in the matchup against Roddick, so I think in the end it was clear Federer would always be the less nervous one. Roddick played nearly flawless on serve though. Had he just managed to win that second set tiebreak up set point, he might’ve been in the clear.
2009 was one of Fed’s best grand slam years, along with 2006 and 2007. He was basically 2 sets away from a calendar slam as he went 5 sets in both of his final losses.
Great highlights as always! I forgot how insane this match was
Thanks, probably my favorite Fedal match in terms of quality despite being a Federer fan.
End of that third set will forever be legendary as a Rafan
Arguably an even better match in terms of shotmaking than the Wimbledon final
I think quality wise this is their best match although the 5th set was a bit disappointing
Even the wimby 07 was higher quality
Roger should have changed to the 97 racquet frame after his 2008 Wimbledon loss to Rafa. Imagine how many more grand slams he would have won. At least 3 more. Sampras himself regretted after retiring not having switched for the last 5 years of his career from pretty much the same frame Federer is playing with here.
still hurts
This match is honestly better than either of their 2007 or 2008 Wimbledon matches.
Nadal didn't want any part of Roger's forehand so he's aiming Roger's backhand side with high ball top spin. this Roger's problem when he didn't take the ball early against Nadal
It’s an open secret. Why would he play to His opponents strength when there’s an obvious exploit?
I know how much effort this took. The original 60fps footage has Russian commentary so you synced up the footage with the audio from the Australian broadcast. The first game has some points missing so you stitched in footage from another video. You also had to increase the framerate. Then you cut the output footage to create this highlights reel. I know because I did the same thing but I gave up halfway 😅. Thanks for putting in the effort. Excellent video!
It does take a lot of effort but it’s worth it, makes the final product better overall.
Congratulations, I'Ve seen a few other version of this awsome final, and this is by far the best quality, with 60.000 fps hard to surpass. I have an old version on Blu-ray ( the whole match ) that looks better , but the file weight 25 GB. We also have to remember on RUclips the picture is a little compress. Anyhow, If you could come up with the semi-final of the same year the AO S-F between R.Nadal vs F.Verdasco , that would have to be something else. According to the experts this was the real final. It's amazing that R.Nadal had the strengh to deafead R.Federer in the final of that year.
Thanks a lot! I try to value the quality the most when making these, I think the file size was quite large for this match as well. In terms of the semi’s with Rafa and Verdasco I have 2 versions in decent quality although not 1080p. I’ll see which one is better and try to make it sometime in the future.
Are you able to upload a snippet of the Blu Ray so I can have a look? I’m willing to process it. File size is not an issue.
I used to live in Rockville , Maryland, and I have a good tennis collection, specially from the 1970, I used to watch G.Vilas, J.Connors, V.Gerulaitis, J.McEnroe and of course B.Borg, that's what I always looking forward to be able to get those classic ones in good quality, but it's a big task.Good luck with everything, but believe me your quality picture is so much ahead of the rest of the tennis sites. Have a good week.
How slow is this court?!! It looks like they are playing on clay.
Nadal was a just a beast at his peak. Best outdoor player of all time. Djokovic started beating him on hard courts when nadal slowed down
Djokovic is the most opportunist player of the big 3. He started his ''domination'' when Nadal slowed down and Federer was already 35 years old.
Cry more 😂😂
@@stuewztrue
@@maneomkar18truth is bitter. Chokovid is a weak era goat 😂
@@stuewzSame thing applies to Nadal when Djokovic was allergic and not in prime.
Federer was so unlucky in this match while Nadal was phenomenal. It just wasn't federers time. Imagine if federer had changed his racket though like in 2017.tht neo backhand would have destroyed Nadal.
I imagined it would have been a decimation by Nadal had Roger changed into that 97 sq racquet at that time… That move was an experimental one, because nothing has been going his way since Nadal claimed the top spot. When he switched to that racquet, he didn’t win anything until 2017, and coincidentally, he won during the absence of Novak.
@@tolendoi123 lol.. Novak was hiding all of 2017 when the fed was back in form.
@@tolendoi123 Lmao what
He wouldnt have destroyed him
They went to 5 in 2017 AO(in which fed had to clutch out nadal to barely win the 5th) on a faster lower bouncing court with nadals FH being worse
@@drnirmalraj24562017 is basically 2015 without Djokovic for Federer.
6:26 if it wasn’t by that shot Federer would have easily won the first set😭😭😭😭
It was probably the best set he has ever played: an insane number of winners from the Swiss perfection
Federer should of changed to a larger frame racket much earler in his career this was a big mistake he would have had more control on his backhand it baffles me to think how many more slams he would of won
Love your highlights!! Are you able to upload Kyrgios vs Gasquet Wimbledon 2014? Cheers
Thanks a lot! Wimbledon is risky to upload on here but I’ll try finding that match.
In their prime, Ronaldo and Messi lead the La Liga top scorer chart with 48 and 43 goals. This year the top goalscorer has 19.
Nadal's forehand does nothing against the Djokovic backhand on these courts.
Federer's 1 hander is a liability on the other hand.
Its a lot harder to return with a one hander cause u only have the strength of one arm and if balls bounce high or wide it’s difficult to find a good contact point
Yeah, Djokovic on HCs was a nightmare for Nadal much in the way Nadal was for Federer on clay (and really all other surfaces as well when Nadal was at his peak). The key difference though is that Nadal was able to adjust against Novak in a way that Roger never could against Rafa; Federer never took down Nadal on clay the way Nadal did Djokovic on HCs in 2013.
@@thb1091 Nadal's HC record against Djokovic after US Open 2013 is atrocious if we're being honest.
@@jollyjames30that’s obvious coz djokovic had to wait for Fedal to decline after 2015 (The beginning of a beautiful weak era till 2022)
By the way , I do have AO 2019 the men's semi-final between R.Nadal vs F.Verdasco on a two regular DVDs 4.7 GB, the picture quality ain't that bad, aspect ratio 4x3, but it's not HD. Anyway, are you based in Tokyo, Japan ? I meant because od the drawing and the main name kunnu.
Oh nice. I’m not actually based in Japan, I do read some manga of course and am interested in Japanese culture. Would love to visit one day. My name is actually Hindu derived although I live in the States for now.
nadal vs veldasco AO2009 semifinal please!!!!!!!!!!
I’ll try!
thankyou!!
Great match from Nadal!
Federer should have used drop volley to tire
nadal
Nadal 😍
3rd set mistook roger 4,4 his 40 lob roger,he was badkuck and Roger losed the game 😂😢😅
this loss by Fed really bugged me, it's when I started to see he was soft.....no mental toughness...... he had lost to Nadal a few months earlier at Wimbledon final, you would think he would show some fight, show some fire......nothing!
Nadal always had his number and was mentally tougher than Fed
Rafa beat Roger so bad he made him cry
El primer set lo ganó Rafa pero el nabo que hizo el video puso casi todos puntos de la momia😂😂
I cant believe Roger blew the 4-2 lead in the first set to that dope monster
Nadal is a bit different from Gonzalez and Baghdatis
