You hold a pen uniquely! It is always cool to see how people write. I was taught in school that we had to have our pointer and thumb squeezing the pencil and our middle finger balancing them both behind it. I am glad that you enjoy writing a journal. I have never been one who enjoys journaling. I have loads of penpals around the world and feel in telling them about what I have been going through, to write it down again in my journal would feel boring because I don't think I'd go back to read it, honestly, while my penpals can go back to their letters from me if they want. It is cool to see how some people love to journal and others are not into it. I loved seeing all the cute washi tape (Which I use for when I make envelopes for my letters). They are so pretty. I loved the little notebooks too. For the one that you bought and went back to replace, I think it is better to get something you are more sure about then one that you are so-so on. MUCH better. I hope that when you come back to the US, you will take parts of the life you have spent out there; the lessons you learned and way of life you have decided on, and use that as a way to flourish back in a culture filled with consumerism and entitlement. haha.
Haha my husband says the same thing about how I hold a pen! Also the fact that you were TAUGHT in school how to hold a pen blows my mind. I don't remember anyone teaching me, which is probably why I hold it strangely 🤣 You are blessed to have pen pals! And they are probably so blessed by your beautiful letters.
@@alyssiachelsea I went to a very small Christian school through first grade. There were only a few of us per grade, so they could spend time honing in on our needs. There were two teachers in my preschool class that could show us how to hold pencils. Although, my mom used to color in coloring books with me earlier on and showed me how to hold crayons too at age 2-3. I am sorry you were not taught. That is sad. I love having penpals and it is my longest running (and favorite) hobby. Let me know if you’d like to write after you move!
