Just some facts:
Red Velvet are from SM entertainment home to other huge groups, NCT, EXO, Girl's Generation, Shinee and so many more. SM is the vocal powerhouse of the kpop industry. Every single person that debuts under SM can sing, and I mean every single one. Red Velvet has 2 major concepts, their 'Red' which is their bubbly catchy and more fun side and 'Velvet' which is their mature darker side. Some examples for each are Red Flavor, Dumb Dumb(Red side) and Psycho, Bad Boy(Velvet). They never do anything twice, so they are known as concept queens you can never get bored of them I promise. Some suggestions are, Peek A Boo, and RBB. Another small thing you may not have known yet, SM entertainment didn't start putting subtitles until 2019, so if you look at any music videos of NCT, Red Velvet, EXO and more from their company they won't have any, just wanted to let you guys know.

It was 2018 when they started adding subs. Love Shot and Tempo both were released in 2018 although it was the end of 2018...either way, you were right that nothing before that was. Sigh. Oh well, I don't really pay attention to or care about the lyrics much anyway.

They're the "queen of B-Sides". Most of their acrobatic-flexing vocal skills are on their B-Sides Tracks, BUT you may found some of hidden gems for the playlist along their title tracks (especially their Velvet side tracks which is more to mature, elegant, chill, RnB-ish side of them ) such as "Automatic", "Be Natural", "I Just", "One Of These Nights", or from their red side (The cheer, energetic, colourful, high tempo side) such as "Dumb Dumb", "Sappy".

Oh my God! How have I never heard this amazing 🤩 duet with Wendy and John Legend before today?! I am soooo glad I ran across your comment and was curious enough to go find it! My ears were blessed! I love RV and so of course I love Wendy (and I’m so glad she’s back!!) and John Legend - enough said! Together they made magic! I’m a Blink, but there is no denying Red Velvet’s talent. Their vocals are insane - I love their use of harmonies and layered vocal arrangements. Crazy good group.

If y’all wanna hear a more vocal piece by RV I’d highly recommend one of these nights! The mv for it is gorgeous as well and it’s personally my fave song by them! I’d say for a banger maybe check out peek a boo, ice cream cake and Russian roulette. I honestly can’t tell whether y’all would like their ‘red’ concepts (more pop-y and bubbly) so those are my current suggestions. RV also have some incredible B sides so I’d say give sunny side up a listen too, think y’all will enjoy it!

RED VELVET are known for their vocals and for duality, duality because they do pop and r&b songs, they have 2 sides the red and the velvet. some of my favorite r&b tracks are automatic, be natural, kingdom come and perfect 10.
There are also hi-hop influenced songs such as Attaboy, Time Slip, etc. Also some jazz, latin etc influences sometimes.

Y'all got me commenting on RUclips videos. That's how good you guys are at doing these reactions. Last week, I commented that you should try another Red Velvet track and you'd like "Bad Boy" (and Dumb Dumb, and "Be Natural" feat Taeyang from NCT U). Really glad that you guys loved this song. There was a period in 2018 where I had this on repeat for nearly a month.
"I wanna hear them flex their vocals, too, man". Say no more. Listen to "Dumb Dumb". "I want to hear a banger". Say no more--listen to "Dumb Dumb". Dumb Dumb is from 2015, IIRC and it was a new visually and thematically fresh video then. And, still, to this day, there's no Kpop video quite like it.
"Be Natural" is actually a cover, apparently. The video showcases their talent as dancers and performers. Their harmonies are gorgeous in that song, which is the norm for Red Velvet, but this song is even more so. The video is from 2014, I think, but it really holds up because it's got a more classic or timeless or slightly retro feel which matches the jazzy vibe of the song that comes from the horns.

Just a quick info. Red velvet has two concepts derived from the group name itself, that solidifies them as "the best idol group alive" (mentioned by Billboard). RED is more towards quirky, energetic, playful while VELVET is like something you're digging right now. It's more classy, sensual and it's usually rnb

A lot of the odler videos don't have great subs unless it's by dedicated fans or the company. Luckily though they made a English studio version of this song as a surprise for when they came and did a live performance in LA for KCON if you want to check that out the lyric video or something for that.

I would suggest PLT - hocus pocus or igoholic for more k hip hop sounds. Also I would suggest the k-artists DEAN, crush, junny or jay park for more k r&b! there's way more than just the kpop scene or "idol" music. I will keep suggesting them LOL
