Now, red velvet is NCT’s older sister. But i’m still looking forward for Aespa too(SM’s youngest group and younger sister of NCT). Red velvet is one of the biggest girl group of kpop too. Has one of the best albums ever tbh. Their songs are sometimes a hit and miss for people, but I personally really love it.

I can see a couple of commenters need to chill, not everyone needs to like every genre. There are some Red Velvet songs I like, and some I don't. I honestly found his comment to be respectable enough and willing to give another chance to react. These guys are being genuine and already said from before, if they are not feeling it they will tell us and it's refreshing to hear. It's only an opinion and as long as they are not trashing it in a rude & bad way, let's not try to be a butthurt fan.

Red Velvet has a lot to offer in terms of their music and concepts. Their vocals are a few of the best in the industry. I recommend Be Natural ft. NCT's Taeyong, Automatic and Bad Boy for their smooth and RnB, VELVET side. For their bright and pop-inspired RED side, Dumb Dumb, Rookie and Zimzalabim have fun, experimental sounds. They have summer releases too, like Red Flavor, Power Up, and Umpah Umpah.
Ice cream cake and Sappy are masterpiece too.

Red Velvet are more Pop and R&B while NCT is more Hip/Hop and R&B. Both have a big variety of songs and genres and are quite unique though. As someone who loves NCT and likes Red Velvet, when It comes to this group I recommend you:
R&B: Bad Boy, Automatic, Be Natural, they are very solid, some of the best R&B songs you'll find on Kpop.
Pop: Now, while Red Velvet has a pop side, their upbeat side is not really as bland or generic as you could expect at first, they have some unconventional pop songs that have a bounce to It and actually go quite hard. I recommend you Peak A Boo, Ice Cream Cake and Dumb Dumb.
While I think Psycho is a great song, I feel like It doesn't showcase how actually unique this group is musically. So I hope you guys give them a chance even if you don't like Pop that much (I don't either), because they make an interesting twist to it.

Exactly this. Going from NCT (and actually starting to understand their sound) to Psycho is a huge "downgrade". Psycho is a really solid pop song and their most popular song, and it stands out amongst KPOP releases. But if you want to hear RVs kpop excellency you need to look elsewhere than Psycho (or bad boy imo). I think they'll love zimzalabim, ice cream cake, automatic, be natural or russian roulette way better

Red Velvet might not be your style. I would consider Psycho one of their best songs along with Bad Boy, Red Flavor, and Ice Cream Cake. If you want something more hard hitting, you may need to watch Monster, which is from their subgroup, Red Velvet - Irene and Seulgi

It makes me want to laugh when people dont really talk about WENDY(the white hair main vocalist in this) and JOHN LEGEND collab song they did a few years back, called WRITTEN IN THE STARS..........I mean that was a masterpiece by 2 amazing singers!
Their hard-hitting title tracks would include Dumb Dumb and Zimzalabim but I’m warning you they’re extremely experimental. Some of their best bside tracks: Kingdom Come (rnb), So Good (rnb), Sunny Side Up (reggae). They’re very versatile once you deep dive into their discography.
I think kpop girl groups, in general, tend to be on the poppy side, mainly because the korean audience lean more towards the feminine, girly image (even for a dark concept). I don't think there's any girl group that has gone full in-your-face, street, hiphop and such. Blackpink to an extent, maybe, but not quite. If you like RnB, jazzy vibes, Mamamoo might be more up your alley. They have some of the best vocals of any active girl groups right now. But ya, hard to compare the boys with the girls musically. It will really depend on your music preference.

to the westerners, there is no such thing as feminism here in ALL ASIAN COUNTRIES. not just South Korea, but all (including South Asia, Middle Asia, etc). so yeah, that's why. but most of modern women and girls already knew it and started to be strong and independent. but still, cultures are different. most of asian countries still follow traditional way of families, personalities and so on. so, you can't compare obv :))

When it comes to women in kpop, for me there is none greater than BoA. She is a legend beyond compare to any other artist, male or female, in the genre. As a performer, there is no one like her and no one has even really tried to replicate her. She is irreplaceable and without her, there is no SM entertainment and no kpop; period. This woman is responsible for opening the Japanese market for the Kpop in the early 2000s, something that hadn't been done before, and she did it at like age 15. She is STILL an active artist at SM, 20 years after her debut and is now a creative director. How many artists, of any nationality, can actually say that? Boa is also a favorite of NCT's Taeyong, she's one of his favorite seniors and they are adorable friends. She is even one of the first Korean artists to put out an entire English album and tried to break into the US market in like 2009. You should maybe check out some of her work, she has a ton of great tracks including the all English songs 'Eat You Up', 'Hypnotic Dancefloor' and "I Did It For Love'. The choreo alone is amazing. In regards to her Korean tracks, my favorite is probably 'The Shadow' but my favorite song of hers is actually a Japanese duet with Daichi Miura called 'Possibilities' which is big, big rnb vibes. red velvet has two sides: the "red" side which is an elegant/R&B/sexy/kinda chill vibes, the song that is the red side are: bad boy(which i'm sure you'll like very much), peekaboo, one of these nights, automatic, be natural.
and the "velvet" side which is a poppy refreshing kinda bouncy and sometimes cute concept. some of this concept songs are: red flavor, ice cream cake, rookie, dumb dumb(this one i'm also sure you will like).
and then there are the songs that combine the red and the velvet sides.
this group is THE most versatile group that i've ever seen. you like r&b? you will find it in their songs. you like pop? you will find it. you like sexy music? you will find it. you like 90's music? you will find it. they never make two songs of the same concept. you will always be surprised.

1. Dumb Dumb - Just fun, loud, you'll like the horns. Reminiscent of 'Bang Bang' w/ Jessie J and Nicki Minaj.
2. Be Natural - Y'all like the jazzy stuff and that song has it. You'll also like the choreo in the video. In terms of cinematography, it's additionally interesting because it's like three long shots. Also, it features Taeyang, the leader of NCT U doing a rap verse.
3. Bad Boy - It might not convert you, but it's a quality song.
Red Velvet has a duel sound and concept. Their "Red" side is very poppy so it might not be to your taste but the "velvet" side is right up your alley. They have some of the best vocals in Kpop and one of the top girl groups of the 3rd generation (groups that debuted 2012 - 2018).

Be Natural (Yuri was too young to debut with the rest of the group so this video only features 4 members)

I also really love Blackpink because I personally like their style of music which kind of pop/end/hip-hop/rap Blackpink is from YG entertainment and after watching all your videos about from NCT, Exo, WayV, and now Red Velvet, I think you would personally enjoy Blackpink , any song from them, but especially “How You Like That”

Its ok if u dont like it cuz RV covered many *MANY* genres by now, it would not be an understatement to say they're one of the most versatile group ever. Billboard didnt crowned them best idolgroup alive for nothing. Their vocals fit R&B perfectly, top 3 R&B song of them for me must be Bad Boy, Kingdom Come and Automatic. Kingdom Come is a b-side but its another level known by fans and non-fans. And also they're the b-side queens so i think you'll definitely love them ❤ keep being honest, loved your reaction ❤
