I have 5-6 Oak City Leather Supply sheaths. I love them . I have probably 200 high grade knives and the amount of knives they have specs on is very impressive . I find my self giving new life to a fixed blade in my safe by ordering a leather and stitch option to make it great again. I personally love the small fixed blade sheaths for front pocket carry . Like the owner said , his evolution of his craft has progressed greatly from the original design . I do not know Dylan but he makes some high grade products for sure . JD
I carry a Benchmade Hidden Canyon Hunter in a custom Armatus architect sheath. I carry it at my 11 o'clock, horizontal. Weak side. I've had it about 3 years. S30v, Perfect ergos, beautiful handle, razor sharp and perfect jimping! Perfect knife for me! I carry it everyday! Love it!
On the topic of sheaths, I encourage everyone to try making them in home. Its not that hard and you can customize them however you want for a fraction of price.
White River M1 Caper. Perfect handle ergos. The frustration as with all fixed blades is the sheath. The Caper has an above average kydex sheath. Great for strapping to a pack and good for wearing cross-draw on my belt - but not exceptional. One day I’ll get around to looking into commissioning a leather pocket sheath for it.
Roac Custom Leather - Hey Taylor, What an awesome lineup! It's cool to see you still enjoying your Guardian 3, the patina on that sheath is amazing brother, well earned. I am still making sheaths & other leather art, usually in small batch runs. We were sold out for quite awhile, but I dropped a batch of clip sheaths earlier this month and although they're about gone, there will be another much larger drop available in May.
I've been carrying the crkt minimalist bowie neck knife for a few years now, along with my crkt Sting as scout carry, my two favorite fixed blade knives
My favorite fixed blade for EDC is my Tops HOG 4.5. It has clean functional lines, it is well made, carries nice, looks good, and does everything I ask of it, from field dressing game, basic wood craft and camp chores, to mundane daily cutting chores like food prep and breaking down boxes. I actually use my knives and am not a steel snob, so 1095 works for me, and Tops does a great job with it. The handle is super comfortable, and the knife is a joy to use. I have dozens of knives, but the HOG 4.5 is the one knife I never leave home without.
Really like the TRC Classic Freedom as an EDC fixed blade (both the full flat and the saber grind versions), I just love TRC's build quality and heat treatment. But there are soo many great EDC Fixies out now, in every steel one can wish for, at least if one got a little patience to wait for a specific maker or custom.
The two I carry the most are my civivi D'Art (every single day) and my fixed Elementum, which is on front of my belt in scout carry most days. Thanks for the video
Man I was so stoked to see a Bradford guardian in your list. To be fair I carry the 3.5 every day I’m not at work and I had the same issue you did Taylor. That being said. I do carry scout but because that point is so sharp and pointy, the sheath it came with was toast in less then 6 months. I commissioned a custom sheath for it and holly crap I am in love all over again
I always carry my Schrade SCHF16 in my right pocket. Nice sturdy blade with excellent fit and finish at an amazing price. It's not pocket jewelry for sure, but hey, the tactical workhorse style is great too. Comes with a well made kydex sheath. All in all I think that it is pretty hard to beat.
I love my Gaurdian three! I also love the scout carry sheath it comes with. Scout carry is my preference. I have many fixed blades that i dont carry because their sheaths pale in comparison to the horizontal carry sheath of the Gaurdian. Thank you! Love your channel!

Great video. Cards on the table.... I was a "I'm good with a folder" guy but you made a video about fixed blades probably a year or more ago that got me thinking about adding one into the gear. I started with a CRKT minimalist, upgraded to the Bradford Guardian 3 and this knife is amazing. Minimalist is great to just tiny so it lives in my bag. I also grabbed a Big Idea Design mini click, great pen but having a hell of a time finding ink gel style refills. If you have a suggestions that would be rad. Wrapping this up, thanks for all the great vids and reviews, they really do help when hunting for new and different gear.
I carry the White River M1 Caper. They come in several versions M1 Backpacker, Backpacker Pro, & Caper. This an awesome EDC knife. Check out the many reviews on RUclips. Love the knives you have selected. Keep up the great videos.
Love my Bradford G3. I've got... a few lol. I agree about the stock leather sheath, it's not great. My EDC is the G3 Sheepsfoot in m390, in the kydex sheath, scout carry.
Ruike Hornet, Fallkniven R2 Scout, Bradford Guardian 3, Lionsteel B35, TRC Classic Freedom, Manly Patriot, ESEE Izula 2, ESEE 3. Usually able to find kydex sheaths with UltiClips if they don’t come with them. A couple of them are a bit over 3.5” blades, so be aware if you have a 3.5” blade length carry restriction where you live.
I carry 4/5 lol GMF1-FS, Bradford Guardian 3, Tactical pterodactyl American Samurai Mini, Griffin Co Scout 2.5. I agree the pocket sheath really makes or breaks the carry. Oak City Leather Supply has really come along way for pocket sheath option you should have a revisit. They make leather scales for the GMF1-FS as well. 🙌🙌
My favorites are: Viper Berus 1, Viper Koi, Tops Ute #2, Boker PryMate Pro, Brisa Necker. Great little video! I would love the Boker Daily. Oh yeah, my super hard use camp come daily edc is the Boker Bark Beetle - it doubles as my steak knife.
Good Morning from VT! I noticed that you are missing a fixed blade with a Scandi grind in your rotation. I carry a Brisa/Enzo Necker that I carry often and am impressed with its performance. Very competitively priced and built like a tank. More recently they came out with the Bobtail which is virtually the same but with a slightly different shaped handle. Both are great if you are going to spend the day outside. I have used my Necker for a couple years now and have had no issues. Anyway, that’s my two cents. I enjoy the content of your videos; keep up the good work.
If you like the Guardian take a look at the Creely Mako. Similar size and sheath but comes in various high end steels. I usually carry a magnacut version in cross draw so I can access it while sitting. Another good and inexpensive knife in that size range is the Esee Izula 2. I usually have a skeletonized one in my pocket on a para cord dangler or one with micarta handles on my pack. Esee is pretty bullet proof. Next one on my wishlist is a toss up between the Guardian and the Lionsteel M2M.
I have both the ti scout and the gmf1 (2 of them) . Definitely work horses. Love both models. If you haven't tried it yet, try the 5mm gmf1-f. Better steel, and you might not think a mm makes a difference.. but with this one, it does.
I have a confession to make. First, If you are at Blade Show in Atlanta, stop by table 24R Jackalope Knives. I would love to change your mind and make a fixed blade your main EDC. It was you that inspired the line up of knives. You did a video asking individuals how much would they spend on an EDC. The Second Video was the Georgia Bushcraft which made me stop being a steel snob. It brought me back to my roots. I want to Thank You for reminding me what a knife is truly suppose to be. I have a skeletonized Buck skinner i used to carry regularly, but the sheath sucks and the steel is fairly soft. It would hold up okay, but even a honing steel couldn't keep up with it after a week of use. I also have one of the CRKT minimalist knives, but it definitely suffers from the same steel quality issue. Anything more than a letter opener it needs constant sharpening. I'd love to have a fixed blade with a high quality steel, but for now my Yo2 Cruwear keeps me very satisfied.
Great collection! You're right that the key to carrying and EDC fixed blade is the sheath. have you checked out the mom micro and macro? I love the magnetic sheath they come with, and they are super svelte blades
I love almost everything with my Boker AK1 reverse tanto but with the lanyard piece out it’s edges are really sharp and scratches my hands if I carries in pocket so I turned it around as soon as I got it and the ulti clip on the leather sheath is even sharper it took chucked out of door frames and gouged a large chuck out of my inner car door , it now lives in a pocket slip but I would really love an option with a clip
Check out Twisted Assisted’s ‘Gambler’ fixed blade. A UK company that has recently released a small fixed blade with customisable scales and an awesome sheath and belt clip. It’s great😁
my fav edc fixed blade is the tactile knives dreadeye. if you don't know that one yet, you should check it out. i believe you'll like the size. your video just gave me the idea to look for a pocket sheath for it. it comes with a kydex sheath which i'm scout carrying on the front of my hip next to the belt buckle
How do you feel about the Bradford Guardian 4 vs the TJ Schwartz Overland? Are they both capable of excelling at bushcraft AND food prep? Let's say both knives in Magnacut steel to level out the playing field. How do we feel about TJ Schwartz's Overland handle width here?
Love to see the love for TPK! I have an OD Green mid-sized camper in Cruwear and it’s been a workhorse. Highly recommend them. It’s the feel of a custom high end knife that you will have no fear to beat on.
Great selection, I love my scout. 2.5.. The knife is absolutely incredible. I also have the Sheath from Paradrop Leather. It fits perfect in the front pocket and you can't even tell it's there. I was also able to get in on the preorder for the folder, black on black on black, can't wait to get it. Big shout out to Steve had Paradrop Leather, the first Sheath he sent me got lost in the mail and he sent me another one at no charge.
I just got the Hogue Extrak. Super slim and light M4 sharpness that is slicey AF. 10/10 Would recommend. Also love my Bradford Guardian 3's, both the traditional drop and the Wharncliffe, just really, REALLY wish they'd off their 3D G-10 scales in black.
My favorite right now is the TOPS MSK 2.5. I've got the Rockies Edition. I always figured a scandi would be good for EDC tasks and I'm not wrong yet. Best part, it transitions flawlessly to woodworking tasks. Slap an ulti clip on it and a lanyard - good to go.
Do huh what? A scandi is terrible for basically everything but woodworking. Since I assume you don't sit around whittling all day, there are multiple grinds that would be infinitely better for EDC tasks than a scandi. The love for scandi is nothing but a fad; sheep following the herd.
Griffin Co Scout 2.5. Some blades for hunting have these cutouts, so your knife doesn't get stuck in the animal as you are stabbing it. It helps release suction. So it might be a tribute to this.
So I work from home, but we live in the country surrounding way to much acreage for the lovely wildlings that come through the forest in OR. If I’m outdoors working or playing I actually keep my Morakniv Robust on my hip (work and defense), and an Outdoor Edge slidewinder which is more a utility knife but works great for hay bales and slicing other things. My EDC for the city differs as it’s scary here now with crime etc. So I keep my CRKT Minimalist neck knife on me (fixed blade) but also my Benchmade Pardue 530 (folder) in my pocket. And usually my custom made fixed blade my uncle made with a custom leather sheath a friend made on my belt. I hate purses or any kind of bag you carry so if they won’t fit on these 3 areas I won’t carry them. But I think a skeletized handle would be better as a belt knife for me.
Taylor, what is the best sheath/holster for the Bradford Guardian 3? Being you said they don't make the one you like any longer. I'm really considering buying one, but I need a good sheath for it. Thank you
i have a bradford guardian 3.5 coming in and a brisa bobtail 80 coming in, i think the bradford will be a good like full size edc fixie and the brisa will be a good smaller edc and also hold up well to some bushcraft, especially with it being 12c27 and tough as nails
As someone into crafty artsy stuff having something that does precision cuts is ideal and I'm assuming I'm not the only getting into all this EDC stuff who's into creative work. I got a kiridashi knife the other day and I think it will do everything people use utility knives for plus all the stuff they are still being used for literal millennia later without much change, which says something. If you want something that is also super useful in woodworking, leatherworking, papercutting, sculping, whittling, marking/scoring, and everything you'd use an exacto knife for but with a much stronger blade, then the kiridashi might be for you. If some of these companies made some little kiridashi style blades that would be sick for people like me. EDC depends on your job as well, I do landscaping and part of my EDC is also a hori hori, another super useful japanese style knife used for gardening/landscaping related tasks. A tiny hori hori that was somewhere between a slightly concaved trowel and a serrated knife would be awesome as sometimes i'm just weeding little sprouts. I'd also use it to scoop up little bugs and stuff to look at with my loupe, another great EDC item that never seems to get mentioned.
I personally EDC a White River FC 3.5 in appendix carry with the standard kydex sheath, if you wear a medium to long length shirt people literally can't tell it's there
Loved my esee 4 and wanted a smaller knife, so I bought a 3 in s35vn. My favorite knife. Then I got a guardian 3 magnacut and loved it, so I got another in a different steel and blade shape. I plan to get the new 3.2 when it comes out in magnacut with another blade shape
Best sheath I've found was from DLT trading called the sheild and I use a lionsteel b35 in sleipner, works great for a lot of different sized knives and it's ambi..
The Eskabar hasn’t left my pocket since i saw it, well worth a try a real beater but still lightweight and comfortable especially with a wrap or scales can be got. Ka bar Becker esee all in one

I just got a White River backpacker pro and it is one of the best feeling handles that I have had on a knife

All good options but if you like that guardian 3 you should check out the white river m1 caper. It’s my edc and it’s probably my fav knife to carry.

I have a little Bark River PSK Elmax and its an amazing little knife. Not the easiest to sharpen but stays razor sharp for ever.
Agreed! It’s the best little fixed blade I own. I have the elmax and magnacut and love them!
My go to edc fixed blade is the LT Wright Lil Muk in a beard&owl leather pocket sheath. Perfect combination 🔥

Viking Tactics Patriot knife is my most carried EDC small fixed blade. Second is the Baja 3 from Tops.
LT Wright Great Plainsman and Bark River JX6 are my top EDC fixed blades
I'm currently carrying the Real Steel Cormorant Apex. It can take custom diy handles, it has a slim profile with the kydex sheath.
I usually carry either a Bradford 3 in a kydex sheath or a Bark River Gunny Scandi plus a folder,good for most situations

I work construction so i usually carry a bigger fixed blade, my current go-to's are the QSP Bison, Cold Steel SRK 5" version and the Condor Huron

I love almost everything with my Boker AK1 reverse tanto but with the lanyard piece out it’s edges are really sharp and scratches my hands if I carries in pocket so I turned it around as soon as I got it and the ulti clip on the leather sheath is even sharper it took chucked out of door frames and gouged a large chuck out of my inner car door , it now lives in a pocket slip but I would really love an option with a clip
Check out Twisted Assisted’s ‘Gambler’ fixed blade. A UK company that has recently released a small fixed blade with customisable scales and an awesome sheath and belt clip. It’s great😁
I carry both. Leatherman P4 free and variety of smaller fixed blades (ESEE being the primary)
my fav edc fixed blade is the tactile knives dreadeye. if you don't know that one yet, you should check it out. i believe you'll like the size. your video just gave me the idea to look for a pocket sheath for it. it comes with a kydex sheath which i'm scout carrying on the front of my hip next to the belt buckle

How do you feel about the Bradford Guardian 4 vs the TJ Schwartz Overland? Are they both capable of excelling at bushcraft AND food prep? Let's say both knives in Magnacut steel to level out the playing field. How do we feel about TJ Schwartz's Overland handle width here?
Overland. It’s not an EDC knife for me but it’s easily one of my most favorite knife designs. TJ is a good friend of mine and a ridiculous designer
big fan of the mkm mikro 2, the blade shape is super useful and the handle gives you a lot of grip once you get used to holding it
Love to see the love for TPK! I have an OD Green mid-sized camper in Cruwear and it’s been a workhorse. Highly recommend them. It’s the feel of a custom high end knife that you will have no fear to beat on.
Great selection, I love my scout. 2.5.. The knife is absolutely incredible. I also have the Sheath from Paradrop Leather. It fits perfect in the front pocket and you can't even tell it's there. I was also able to get in on the preorder for the folder, black on black on black, can't wait to get it. Big shout out to Steve had Paradrop Leather, the first Sheath he sent me got lost in the mail and he sent me another one at no charge.
The sheath is at least 50% of a fixie, as you've demonstrated so clearly 👍👍👍
I just got the Hogue Extrak. Super slim and light M4 sharpness that is slicey AF. 10/10 Would recommend. Also love my Bradford Guardian 3's, both the traditional drop and the Wharncliffe, just really, REALLY wish they'd off their 3D G-10 scales in black.
My favorite right now is the TOPS MSK 2.5. I've got the Rockies Edition. I always figured a scandi would be good for EDC tasks and I'm not wrong yet. Best part, it transitions flawlessly to woodworking tasks. Slap an ulti clip on it and a lanyard - good to go.
Do huh what? A scandi is terrible for basically everything but woodworking. Since I assume you don't sit around whittling all day, there are multiple grinds that would be infinitely better for EDC tasks than a scandi. The love for scandi is nothing but a fad; sheep following the herd.
The Raptor is what originally drew me to TPK but "The American Samurai" is what holds my heart and keeps me saying someday.
Griffin Co Scout 2.5. Some blades for hunting have these cutouts, so your knife doesn't get stuck in the animal as you are stabbing it. It helps release suction. So it might be a tribute to this.

I've been trying to carry the CRKT Razel. The sheath is making it so difficult. Its a lot of fun though
So I work from home, but we live in the country surrounding way to much acreage for the lovely wildlings that come through the forest in OR. If I’m outdoors working or playing I actually keep my Morakniv Robust on my hip (work and defense), and an Outdoor Edge slidewinder which is more a utility knife but works great for hay bales and slicing other things. My EDC for the city differs as it’s scary here now with crime etc. So I keep my CRKT Minimalist neck knife on me (fixed blade) but also my Benchmade Pardue 530 (folder) in my pocket. And usually my custom made fixed blade my uncle made with a custom leather sheath a friend made on my belt. I hate purses or any kind of bag you carry so if they won’t fit on these 3 areas I won’t carry them. But I think a skeletized handle would be better as a belt knife for me.
ESEE Izula 2. I have a bunch of high end knife steels, but still love me some 1095.

i have a bradford guardian 3.5 coming in and a brisa bobtail 80 coming in, i think the bradford will be a good like full size edc fixie and the brisa will be a good smaller edc and also hold up well to some bushcraft, especially with it being 12c27 and tough as nails

If you haven’t already, give North Arm Knives a look. Their Lynx and Mallard fixed blades are pretty great.
You could nylon brush the detent on that blade. You could also fill the detent with enamel.
As someone into crafty artsy stuff having something that does precision cuts is ideal and I'm assuming I'm not the only getting into all this EDC stuff who's into creative work. I got a kiridashi knife the other day and I think it will do everything people use utility knives for plus all the stuff they are still being used for literal millennia later without much change, which says something. If you want something that is also super useful in woodworking, leatherworking, papercutting, sculping, whittling, marking/scoring, and everything you'd use an exacto knife for but with a much stronger blade, then the kiridashi might be for you. If some of these companies made some little kiridashi style blades that would be sick for people like me. EDC depends on your job as well, I do landscaping and part of my EDC is also a hori hori, another super useful japanese style knife used for gardening/landscaping related tasks. A tiny hori hori that was somewhere between a slightly concaved trowel and a serrated knife would be awesome as sometimes i'm just weeding little sprouts. I'd also use it to scoop up little bugs and stuff to look at with my loupe, another great EDC item that never seems to get mentioned.
Would the paradrop sheath fit the giant mouse or any other fixed blade ? If so which ones ?
I personally EDC a White River FC 3.5 in appendix carry with the standard kydex sheath, if you wear a medium to long length shirt people literally can't tell it's there
Loved my esee 4 and wanted a smaller knife, so I bought a 3 in s35vn. My favorite knife. Then I got a guardian 3 magnacut and loved it, so I got another in a different steel and blade shape. I plan to get the new 3.2 when it comes out in magnacut with another blade shape
Best sheath I've found was from DLT trading called the sheild and I use a lionsteel b35 in sleipner, works great for a lot of different sized knives and it's ambi..

My favorite edc fixed blade is my Esee Izula 2. It's the perfect edc fixed blade IMO.
I have 2 of those, and they're great. I also like the White River Backpacker for edc because the sheath is super thin.

The Eskabar hasn’t left my pocket since i saw it, well worth a try a real beater but still lightweight and comfortable especially with a wrap or scales can be got. Ka bar Becker esee all in one
