Thank you, Dr. Park. I just completed my blood work, and it turns out my 25-hydroxy vitamin D level is 33 nmol/L, which is low. I also have nasal congestion. I am now waiting for my doctor's recommendations and treatment plan.
Is it possible to need Septoplasty but then it no longer being necessary once jaw surgery (to fix recessed jaw) has been performed or can jaw surgery not resolve a septic deviation?
Hi Doctor, I have suffered from allergic sinusitis as a kid and recently I got to know I have Nasal Septum Deviation. Past few months I have noticed that every time I have gastric reflux or gastritis I have a terrible headache especially above my nose and around it to an extent I bang my head to the wall. Also noticed frequent nose bleeds during sleep and after I blow my nose. I visited a doc for nose bleeds, I was told it was elective and the advise was septoplasty with turbinoplasty to reduce GA. I am aware my allergic sinusitis cannot be cured septum deviation correction. But will I be be able to better manage the allergy with septum deviation correction? I am confused if this would help me. Could you please guide?
Your septal deviation correction will only address nasal congestion. It does nothing for allergies. But in theory, if you can breathe better through your nose, you may be able to keep your mouth more closed at night, with less obstructed breathing and less reflux as a result. As I mentioned, a significant portion of chronic nasal and sinus problems are aggravated by reflux. Go through the steps I mentioned in this and my other videos to improve your health in general. By doing this, nasal/sinus problems have a higher chance of improving. Good luck!
Also forgot to mention, my cheekbone is always swelling, which is crazy because CT scan always come back normal doesn’t make any sense and I did sinuses surgery 6 years ago. Didn’t help unfortunately, I did take lot z-pack too I did the allergy test you name it I done it off. Thank you again for the video.
Also have same issues. Recently, developed a tooth infection, that after removing it the symptoms subsided tho not totally. After paying attention to teeth issues, my sinuses are not near as bad as before. And find that crushed garlic (not sliced or chopped) on toast seems to help. It's active ingredient is allicin.
Yes, it's in the same category as myofunctional therapy, strengthening the mouth and lip muscles. It may be focusing on one particular set of exercises.
Thank so much Dr Steven Park, I’m glad I find you, I m 48 year old I’ve been going through a really tough time at least for four years it’s just getting worse, so many issue terrible headaches every single day, sleep Apnea acid reflux you name it I have it all. Also lead me with anxiety and panic attack because of that, I’ve done so many bloodwork and Test scan everything come back normal, I wake up every morning with a lot of fluid on my ears makes me very uncomfortable. I did CT scan without the contrast and it was clear, I’m glad you made this video This is very informative. Please can you provide me some of that natural alternative for acid reflux? Also few days go I just start sleep apnea machine. I hope it helps, I have a trouble sleeping and I have to take Tylenol and Advil every single day because of my headache so bad. Please let me know if anything else. I can do to improve my health.🙏 thank you.
Daniel, sorry to hear about all your health struggles. Hopefully, many of your symptoms will improve once you're on the CPAP for a few weeks. I will be releasing another video shortly on natural ways to treat acid reflux. Stay tuned....
Thank you Dr. Park for your informative videos. I want to share a natural remedy with you that's helped me in two ways: 1. stopped my acid reflux 2. lessened my sinusitis greatly. It's garlic. But specially prepared, and very simply. When making horseradish over the years, found that intensifying it's properties worked after letting it sit for 10-20 minutes after chopping it, then adding vinegar to stop the chemical reaction. And assumed the same may apply to garlic. And that it must be crushed, not chopped or sliced, and used after letting it sit 10 minutes. It seems to work, noted a much stronger taste. After adding a carrier like sour cream for e.g., it's very pleasant on toast and the 'whey protein' or fat in it lessens the 'shock.' Perhaps even aids in it's transport across the digestive membrane (via whey protein). Crush a clove or two onto a dish. let stand for this time. Mix with a little sour cream (or butter), a little sea salt for taste if desired, and put on toast. The downside to eating raw garlic is that the chemical reaction is reduced, and perhaps it's benefit, as soon as it reaches stomach acid after swallowing. Be prepared for a mild Herxheimer type reaction! Especially if the infection is long standing.
Johnj5985, thanks for the reminder that there are a number of natural foods that has decongestant/anti-inflammatory/antimicrobial properties, such as garlic, ginger, horseradish, and hot peppers (capsaicin). I'm sure there are many others that I haven't mentioned. I think that these natural options can help many people with mild sinus issues, as well as being part of a holistic combination regimen for sinus and overall health. But sometimes you have to step it up to more aggressive options, which I talk about in my other videos.

Hey, Doc. What is your opinion on corticosteroid injections? Are there any risk for complications?

Dr Park do you have any experience with IQoro? Would you put this in the category of true myofunctional therapy as discussed in the video?

Best doctor on the internet, thank you Sir!
So nice of you
