In a simple way, the poem by Molana (Rumi), talks about how you have to get rid of your ego and sense of self to become one with your love. The hero of the music video is so eager to find love, that he is willing to do many different tasks, like climbing numerous scairs, going into an unkown castle. But when he does so he falls into the abyss, drowns in the sea, and literally dies in the eye of the viewer, and when symbolically his dies, he reemerges as victorious and gets united with his love. It's a nod to 7 cities of love which is a very bold way of thought in Sufism, and is written into peoms by Attar. Molana was a sufi also, and this music is upbeat because Sufism is full of emotion, sometimes eagerness and sometimes sadness. This music and animation falls into the eagerness of the sufi spectrum.

*The lyrics of this song are based on a poem by Molavi (a.k.a. Molana), 13th century Persian (Iranian) poet. The word "sanam" (transliteration of the originally Arabic word, صنم) in Persian means "idol" or "a symbol to worship". "Sanama" is the vocative form of the name "sanam" - "sanam" + -a (vocative suffix). "Sanam" is the character being called and "sanama" is how the calling with the name is made. Another common example is خدایا (transliteration: "khodaya") meaning "Oh, God" and is a combination of "khoday" plus vocative suffix "-a". "Khoda" or "khoday" in Persian means "god". So, "Sanama" means "Oh, Sanam!". Molavi's poems (like many others from other Persian poets is lot about the intoxicating love of God and the spiritual realm. The animation portrays a comical combination of modern musical instruments (drums, electric guitars) with traditional Persian ones. It also comically displays a crazy and outrageous portrayal of the wild nature of the love relationship between man and God. I wouldn't dwell too much on the intricacies of the animations. I'd focus on the lyrics, or, better yet, the Molavi poem it's based on.*

Believe me or not but this is the eleventh time that a singer has sang this very poem . Anyway I really enjoyed them all specially this one which along with the mesmerising voice and amazing vocals of the singer also has almost the smartest animation and visualizations . It fits what possibly the poet ( Rumi ) 800 years ago intended us to understand and there are even more to it which I'm sure the animator did his best but maybe I would add more to it , luckily I wasn't the one lol . It really takes hours to describe all the metaphors in this poem that I think is unnecessary . I hope you enjoyed it and thanks for your reaction 🌹

My understanding is that the graphical elements of this album emphasize on the value in the cultural fusion that is embedded in Iranian culture. These graphical elements are old but characters in it use modern and mostly western instruments and tools. The origin of these elements are in China, India and perhaps all over the Asia that travelled to Iran and fused together with Iranian motifs. The lyrics are from Rumi. He seems to be praying for help to bring his heart and mind in harmony. The mythical aspect is simple: heart and mind are always in a fight to guide us their own way, you wish there was a way of harmony and balance.

The Animation is artistic representation of Molana (aka Rum), مولانا جلال‌الدین بلخی، Persian poat and philosopher's book Masnavi مثنوی مولوی. This book has many stories and those animated characters come from there, for example the huge bird is Simorg سیمرغ ، or the 3 monsters are Jen جن and، Dev دیو , which all have philosophical meanings of bad and good on earth... So if you like to fully understand it you need to read and see the pictures in the book with closest english translation , not google translate..,😄

There are other arrangements of the same song. I am no musical guru but I think it’s kind of fusion version of an old song. Homayoun has been experimenting with this type of modernization of the traditional Persian style. He is of course an excellent traditional Persian singer. You find a lot of his videos on RUclips.

    Translation of the first part:
Share your heart - your actions - your feelings - with me (unite)
If I was not what you wanted and you were not happy with me - then you can complain and complain.
But the first condition is that your heart is one with mine.

If u expected something more soothing and calm, I'm here to tell you this selection was on the extreme side of his musical career actually the most extreme of his work as I would suggest...
    You can listen to:
chera rafti (why did you leave)
Oo mikeshad gholab ra(he pulls the hook)
    And so on...
If you enjoyed the iranian music I'll invite you to listen chartaar's music, very rich musical atmosphere and vocals ... Enjoying these iranian music reactions hope you enjoy them too.

The animation is based on some Iranian old legends because the lyrics are from an old poet from like 8 centuries ago

hmmm i wanna try to give you as much information as i can but first i want you to know that my knowledge is very limited. this track is not the usual type of work homayoun creats, this was for a series or a movie, this is a combination of rock and iranian music. iranian instruments are used in a rock music ( idk the terminology). the lyric is asking his idol/lover/god to give him a chance to prove himself and both the lyric and the animation is about the journey to find porpuse and idols and reaching spiritual heights how the path is within ourselves( this kinda the surface translation and underlaying meaning together). and the animation is depicting the journey with traditional paintings and ilustrations.

To understand this animation and music, you should be familiar with Rumi's poems, which are related to the spiritual journey of human beings and the journey from the world of demons to higher worlds, ie angels, or vice versa!
Rumi had chosen spiritual dance to take a shortcut between these two worlds, which is beautifully represented in this animation!
9:10 For example, here the man is standing in front of a door on which there is a pattern of beautiful women's faces, but he passes through this door to meet higher lasting beauties!
    Thanks

Believe me, even us Iranians don't understand the full meaning of the animation. This is lyrics of Rumi' (Don't worry about understanding Rumi, we don't understand him either :P)..but what I understood from it is that, the guy went for the search of God and when he thought he is so close to him (went all the way upstairs) he tripped and fell in the hands of demons!..he tried again and was eventually forgiven..(Soofi's believe when you think you're very close to God, it is exactly the time that you are most susceptible to be betrayed by demons)..

Hello .This is not suicide. The meaning of this poem is that if you are in love, to reach your love, if you have to go to the mouth of your love or the mouth of a lion. This means that you must even be present to give your life to reach your love and you must be so in love that to reach your love you have to cross every mountain and sea and in this cartoon this person goes to the mouth of his love and from the top of this building ( His beloved) puts himself in the heart of the beloved. He tells his love to unite your heart with me and i will do whatever you say, and if I did not do what you asked me to do for you, then complain to me.Thank you for your reaction to this song and music.
