I am still holding out hope to get one. The card will be distributed with selected retailers in the Netherlands and Belgium somewhere beginning of 2024 when buying tcg. Will probably get scalped as well, but hey, at least there will be more cards out there.
maybe the hype and "market" speak over cardboard with printed images of fictional characters we loved as kids is overblown in general, no? This coming from a big Pokémon head myself. I'm over it. The investing aspect has made Pokémon so so so weird. Not gonna pay this much so I can have something where, at best, I display it (cant display all of them either) and at worst, I lay them out on my bed and fawn over it for a couple of minutes and then put it back in my binder to collect more dust until the next time I fawn over it.
Tbh I have only just returned to collecting, but you make a great point. I will say that I'm not offended by people investing in Pokemon, as it's no different from gaming collectibles (something I have a little longer experience with). If someone puts things away to hopefully accrue value then that's fair enough but it's hard not to be pissed off though with the sheer speed of scalping!
You might not think it's anything special but there are people all over the world that love Pokemon, art and Van Gogh and they'll only be able to get these cards on the secondary market.
So you have the non holo, no texture Scream Munch promos also the Japan post art cards which this cards fits into that series so has to be non holo. Check the prices on those and that is the price these will be.
Man, great quality video and commentary. I really wish they had done a lotto system or a code after the fact to get this card. Both the way Pokemon company handled the roll out of this card and the rise of rip and ship streamers on TikTok has left a bad taste in my mouth lately. I've got all the cards I've wanted from Scarlet and Violet so far, but this is gotten me thinking about taking a break and stepping back for a little.
Thank you! Yeah it was a stupid system that probably should have been limited to one per account rather than per item initially. Even the in person side was completely bodged!
One of those cases the price alone is keeping the hype alive, cause the card is not really that rare. Personally I find the card ugly, so Im safe from this madness. But I still cannot see how it's higher than 20$ lol. No shine, no texture, no good art despite being about a painter. Cant wait for the general realization that that there is always a card in that price range or lower that any of us wants more than that pikachu. And yet, people followed the made up hype of scalpers.
the collab between pokemon and the museum ends on 7th jan 2024.. the price will probably rocket from there on. But whether u wanna collect one, its still up to you
Lol saying it’s not that cool as it’s being tightly gripped in a card saver and ready to go into ur collection. Nah Jk these cards are cool if no more are made jsut think this. Will people want this Pokémon card in 5years? I think yes. 150$ cheap buy in price :)))

i think it will be gone in a jiffy... the pokemon and van gogh museum's collaboration ends on 7th jan 2024

Maybe you find it that it's not worth it but the current market says something else. It's all about supply and demand.
That is very true 👍🏻

Yeah heavy agree. I'm partial to a promo but this kind of didn't scratch the itch for me :(

It’s expensive now 😅
Look at the scream promo and compare to this, this card speaks for itself.
Anybody buy one yet?
My sons 8 yr old collects Pokemon I chanced it and paid £140 yesterday hopefully a good investment for him when he’s no longer a child 🤝
Worth a punt!
Grade it
Can i have 1?

Oh okay you said that aftwr lol
Why wouldn't I protect the card? That would be silly wouldn't it and somewhat annoying to those that couldn't get hold of one.
@@LostInKantoI know I’m messing with you loo
@@israels841 😂 np np.
I saw one in person at an LGS and when I noticed it wasn't holographic I lost interest immediately
It would have been nice to have some texture like a real painting would imo 😔
Im sure they did that on purpose since none of the Van Gogh paintings were holo. lol
