Great video! You are obviously a professional. None of the many other repair videos I've seen do as great a job. You clearly show each screw to reassemble. Your camera was positioned perfectly and you clearly reveal every step nicely. You missed nothing. I will watch your other videos. Thank you for taking the time to do this well.
Thank you for the comment!
One of the best and informative teardowns I have ever seen - thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for such a clear and concise teardown. It's greatly appreciated 👏
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent video, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Nice teardown video! Is there an ssd enclosure that could substitute the CD-ROM drive? If so, maybe a RAID 0 could be made using the main SSD and the SSD placed where the drive is. Thanks
I am assuming a RAID 0 would not be possible because one is Nvme and the other is SATA (from what I understand is a slower bandwidth), but I thought I'd ask anyway!
Did you try to clone nvme with Acronium or other cloning program and try to put another NVME more faster and with more capiency?
Sure! But I recommend using Macrium Reflect.
@ElectronicsComputers i Made this operatin with the SSD 2TB Crucial BX500 not The fastest i know, i made the operation without cloning the HDD because i use a free software called Macrium Reflect and i don’t know if The copy WasMade succesfully, i’m courios to see your next video
Hello, how are you? I have seen the whole video but I have one Screw with fine thread left over and I have checked the ones you take out and well, yes I have them on... but I still have one left over. Do you think you can help me by telling me where all of these that are used in the side of fan are located?
Can you share the picture of the screw, here?
@@ElectronicsComputers yes but the system delete the link ..
@@ElectronicsComputers the screw is the type of minute 1:21
thank you, i need to do a deep clean soon
Happy to help.
I need some help I have Xbox series s and the front USB port doesn't work there's no power output on it but for when it comes to data it works fine but I have to use external 5 volt power supply. When I do this it pulls 3 amps with nothing connected to it. I've tried going to the XBox support. when I had warranty and I tried the whole year to get them to do something but nothing has happened so now I'm sitting with a pretty much dead front USB port and it's quite annoying.
So my Xbox just recently had an issue where it was on and working properly, then grey glitchy lines appeared on screen briefly and then screen went out. I thought it was a bad hdmi cable so I switched to another but same issue. Xbox turns on but nothing appears on screen. I am assuming this is the SSD issue you mention in video??
Does the controller sync with the console? Can you log into your Wi-Fi router's web interface and see if the console is connected to your Wi-Fi network? That would be a good hint to understand if the console works properly and you don't have HDMI output signal or if it's something else.
@@ElectronicsComputers The controller was still synched with the console, I was able to turn on/off the console with it. I actually had the Xbox hard wired via ethernet cable, I unplugged it today, I started scrolling left and right with the analog stick and could hear the menu sound effects. All of a sudden, the TV screen flicked on, an error message had popped up regarding wifi connection. So I plugged the ethernet cable back in, and it works now. Really strange, not sure what the reason behind it is, but the video output is now functioning normally. Thanks for the suggestions, and for creating the tutorial. Take care.
Blow out and Clean your HDMI port with alcohol. If that doesn't help, it may be the port is bad. Or HDMI encoder chip or the booster pack.. Hopefully it just needs the cleaning of the port. Good luck
What's a good alternative if you don't have a curved pry tool? I just want to thoroughly clean my xbox
You can just use a thin flat-head screwdriver, a knife, plastic card and stuff like that. Metal tools can scratch the case, that's why we use plastic prying tools.
The transmitter for my stealth 700 g2 max just stays on solid red light unable to pair the headset to Xbox. My Xbox was on the floor and i accidentally hit it with my foot and it fell on its side with the rubber on the four corners. At that moment the headset which was already connected no longer had audio from the Xbox. I wonder if I could open it up and repair something near the front usb slot? It’s not the headset bc it happened the second it fell over.
Try to connect that USB transmitter to the back USB port of your console and see if it helps.
@@ElectronicsComputersI did try that and it lit up solid red again. Later that night it went solid green but no blinking. I’ve ordered a new one after dissembling the Xbox and seeing it had no damage.
My system does turn on and connects to the internet. The system will not play games and crashes to the Home Screen while loading. Is this the drive or something worse? how can I determine? your video is well done, but I did not see this problem is a little different that what you discussed.
First of all, I would try to reinstall the Xbox Operating System from a USB drive. I have a video on how to do that. If it doesn't help, then I would remove the SSD and connect it to a PC. Using some software, check the state of that SSD. There's a feature called SMART on drives that has all diagnostic information about the drive. If the problem is in the drive, it's extremely important to back up its boot partition; otherwise, that console will become a piece of expensive equipment that nobody can fix. Also, make sure that your console is properly cooled. If the fan spins faster than before, chances are that the console is overheating.
Hello,
Thanks a lot for your yours vid
Maybe you can help me ? I checked online for 2 days now without anybody having this issue. Console is out of warranty and i have open it up to clean it when warranty was done.
My xbox power button blink fast sometimes (like if you try to pair a controller with it) and sometimes i have a troubleshoot menu when i boot it up but no error code. I think after 2 days of investigate it, that the part use to pair controller to unit is defective wich do the blinking thing or active troubleshoot mode when i power the unit. What do you think of this ?
Thanks in advance and sorry if my english is not so good
I already try :
Contact support
Reset w and w/o games, ...
Power hard reset
I was part of insider so i cant update it offline now, but i take out my console of the program since this so i could try to update it later if needed
@@fatalcrashflamby8268 I'm not sure if I understood you correctly. You mentioned that the board responsible for pairing the controller might be faulty. Are you saying you can't sync the controller with the console? The RF module, responsible for syncing the controller and the Wi-Fi board, shouldn't affect the booting of the console. You can remove those modules, and your console should still run perfectly without them. So, I'm confused. Is your issue that the console doesn't boot properly, or that it doesn't sync with the controller? Or runs normal but sometimes the LED blinks and you get that troubleshooting menu?
@@ElectronicsComputers sorry, i will try to explain it better.
The issue is :
- Console blink (like when i pair a controller to it, blink fast then come back as normal)
Troubleshoot menu come when i try to boot the console, sometimes not. (No error code)
@@fatalcrashflamby8268 When you turn on the console the LED starts to blink fast but the console eventually starts normally or not? Or sometimes it does and sometimes it boots into the troubleshooting screen, right? I'd definitely try to clean install offline updates from a USB drive. If it doesn't help, then I would connect console's SSD to a PC and check its state. Maybe the drive is lowly dying and it's important to check the SMART of the drive. If it's bad then you have to clone the boot partition of that drive and then restore onto the new one. I have a video on how to do that.
@@ElectronicsComputers Sometimes it does and sometimes not. I had insider so i cant update offline before next update am i correct ?
I have just bought a faulty xbox series x. It turns on fine but is randomly turning off. I have watched RUclips on it for a few hours without any problems. Played assetto corsa for about 30 minutes again without any problems. But when playing fifa 24 it will turn off. I tried gta 5 and this also turned off after about 5 minutes so i think its overheating. I followed your video and changed the thermal paste and also change the power supply. But its still the same. Is there anything else it could be. The fan although spinning doesn't seem to change speed at all. Could that be causing it to overheat and if so is there anyway to test the fan speeds before buying a new one. Thank you
Did you also replace the thermal putty? If the fan spins even at its lowest speed, the console will never overheat with that huge heatsink.
@@ElectronicsComputers no not yet, I ordered the putty from your link but im currently waiting for it to be delivered which is likely to be another week or two. Because of this I just reused the old putty which still felt very soft and not dried out. Would using new putty help. I have been reading comments online from others with the same problem some saying it's not a Xbox console fault but the games themselves causing it to turn off, could this be true since it seems to happen on enhanced games and not other.
Followed the video to a certain part. I have an issue where, when the console is plugged in, the fan turns on by itself, yet pressing the power on button does not turn the console on(the power on button does not light up, or make the power on sound) the fan just spins by itself. Any suggestions?
Was that issue there before or after disassembling the console?

Hello sir,
I suspect a faulty ssd. My Xbox starts up with a chime and shortly thereafter the logo flashes twice quickly and subsequently shuts down a few seconds after this with a shut down chime. I don’t get any signal on my tv.
I tried removing the ssd as you suggest but then the console won’t even turn on.
Any suggestions? Thank you!
Have you tried to boot your console from a USB drive? If it doesn't work either, then try to connect that SSD to a computer and see the SMART status of the drive. It will tell you if the drive is corrupted or not.
@@ElectronicsComputers
Thank you for your answer. The SMART values seemed to be ok. I tried booting it with an USB OSU update stick. That did not work. Still no picture on the screen and shutdown after 30seconds.
Any ideas for further troubleshooting?
@@ElectronicsComputers i tested 2 different power supplies, copied the RAW partition bit by bit to an identical SSD. still the same. no screen, shuts itself off after 10-30seconds. time gets shorter each time i try. maybe overheating? but why theres no picture?
@@patrickmusic11 You mentioned before that logo appears on the screen right?
@@ElectronicsComputers unfortunately not. No logo on the screen all the time. With the original SSD the white hardware logo on the console itself flashes twice. With the new cloned one it does not do that anymore.
Hello, I bought an Xbox series X console, I played games, the console was slow for a week, when I turn it on, it stays in Lego X for a minute, it crashes, and the game runs late. I reset the console, but it didn't work. What do you think is the problem? 🙏❤️
So, I presume you bought a used console, right? If so, I'd start by checking the health of the SSD. Connect it to a desktop computer, or a laptop if it has two M.2 slots, and check the SSD's SMART status. If it’s bad, you should immediately back up the first boot partition of the SSD. I have a video on how to do that and how to replace the drive. If that partition gets damaged, the console becomes unfixable. If the SMART status of the drive is good, I'd start checking some key points on the motherboard, but it's hard to explain in a message. So start with checking the SSD.
What more ways are there to troubleshoot? I swapped the power supply in my console but still no life at all.
Do you have a multimeter?
anyone knows how to fix corrupted system files or partitions ?
Have you tried to clean install system updates from a USB drive?
@ElectronicsComputers i just can't get it to boot, I'm still stucked in the turn on and off part, i copied the raw patition to a new ssd but it's just the same. Also im not sure if i can install directly the system updates to the sdd
To be honest i kinda want removed the fan but i dont think i hav the guts to removed the other parts
Do you have some issues with the console or what the reason of the disassembly?
My xbox series x will bring up an error screen everytime turned on but will not work after trying everything microsoft tells me to do to fix it
What error code did you get?
@@ElectronicsComputers I have gotten E200,E201,E202,E205, and E208 it comes up as a different one almost every time i try to reset it
My x box just Dosnt turn on at all
If you very slowly connect the power cord to the console, can you hear/see the arcing or it's super quiet?
