You are getting a slightly lower velocity reading than you should be getting because of that down angle that you are holding. The distance between the sensors is critical and by holding at an angle you increase the distance the pellet travels and reduce the recorded velocity. This is part of the reason that people report so many differing velocities shooting the same pellets with the same model rifle. I've see this on RUclips a lot and with people worrying over something like 850fps vs 870fps just an out of parallel position like this can make that much difference. Something to be aware of.
the problem with high BC "bullets" in a pellet barrel, is the twist rate wont stabilize them. Normal pellets with a flared tail are intrinsically stable in even a smooth bore. Bullets are not stable without a specific rotation speed. interesting to see which rifles would stabilize the piledrivers :) There is also a possible issue with projectile obturation using a "bullet" not sealing the barrel as well as the pellet skirt method. I guess what im saying is...there is a reason air rifle pellets are shaped as they are
I have to agree with you 100% on that I do know that FX makes slugline barrels that you can change out and that's if you're lucky enough to be able to afford the FX
It's just a gimmick there's too much surface area contacting the rifling for air to push such a big projectile down a 20in barrel they're going to get jammed ,people are going to have problems, buyer beware
@@caseykelso1 you may be onto something. Certainly a good practice to use only in really higher power pcps maybe as mentioned and also clean and lube really really well.
I've started carrying a couple tubes of chapstick when I shoot my breakbarrel airgun. Easy to schmear enough to reliably diesel, not such a pain in the ass as petrol jelly. Just keep the ones you use for dry lips *separately*, cuz... ya know... lead.
The E >25j means you need 25 joules or 19 fpe to get the pellet out of the barrel So any air gun that produces 19fpe with this grain pellet will work . As long as your gun no matter what power plant you use including spring gun can chrony a 20.99 grain pellet at 639 fps the pellets will not get stuck in the barrel . 639 fps with a 20.99 pellet is 19 fpe .
started shooting these out of my impact mk2 a while back they're great 117 yard shot pretty accurate just as good as the fx hybrids on long range accuracy but they dont smack like the hybrids that hollow point aint no joke on the flip side AOA 9.99 150ct piledriver is the cheapest slug in town ill continue to use them for long range shooting but the baracuda match is king up to 50 yards.
I've shot the .177 ones out of a gamo big cat 1250 and it worked fine, it was slow as hell but it was pretty accurate at 15 yards, was able to send penny's zinging off easily
I like them because they work just as well even if you put them in backwards by mistake out in the field during low light or because it's cold and you don't care to fumble around to put them in right end first.
I have HW100 in .177. The piledrivers don't work, they get stuck just short of exiting the barrel. Most sub 12ft lb barrels need a snug fitting pellet with a skirt I think, there are some very good compromise designs in the H&N sniper range.
Like someone else mentioned here the twist rates in even high power FPS PCP pellet gun barrels won’t stabilize bullets hardly ever at longer distances over 50yds. Even FX impacts have a different twist rate barrel for slugs than pellets. Has more to do with twist rates than power to send them down range at a high FPS.
To be clear these are designed for high end power PCP rifles. I would not even try them in my Benjamin NP2 .22 at about 21 FPE on average. Diablo 18.3 g is about it and works great to the engineering limitations. Very nice video, good job! Dang bro you got hella nice weapons! Very beautiful rifles.

The twist Tate for tour gun is not sufficient enough to be shooting these kind of bullet shaped bullets as in any real powder burner the twist rate is way more twists than the average air rifle twist rate due to the lack of the drag effect instead they rely on the weight and really fast twist rate to keep them flying straight and steady but I've seen some guns on youtube that shoot them good like the fx impact and some other air rifles check out airgun depot they have the vid

the aerodynamics is overshadowed by how heavy they are, airguns are most popular in countries that cant own firearms and in those countries airguns have very limited power outputs by law, so these pellets are too heavy for the majority of airguns sold worldwide and thats why they are not popular.

hatsan CRAAAAP !!!!!!!!!!!!!! it's not 1,000 fps they're using something very light use the pellet that's good fr your rifle that way the piston is not smashing you have to have a cushion of air to slow the piston down check into it
Why are they loose are they same size in diameter
I only got'm in 22's an NO PCP just a break. LOL
Still oil them up an fire away.
GOD BLESS
LOL How did it go?
Will these work in a Crosman P1322 .22 caliber American Classic pistol? I need to get up close and personal.
Thanks
Just Plinking
can u use them in a nitro piston or springer
I love the H&N piledriver but they are so hard to find where I live.
James Wiles just order them online.
Have any left? I’d love a tin in .22
Can these be seated in a break barrel?
Ryan's Adventure & Info Yes they will
With all that surface area contacting the rifling pellets are going to get jammed in the guns that aren't powerful enough to push them through buyer beware
Yes… These were really made for PCPs exclusively. I forgot if I mentioned it or not… great info 👍
Hello, Whats the length of .177 pile drivers, They dont fit my FX Mag
Kenith Almeida I wish I could give you an exact length but I don’t have an accurate measuring devise, all I can say is they’re shorter than predator polymags, I’m surprised they don’t fit your mag....
Nice Video, Thanks for sharing 👍
Ralph Jr. Vargas as always thanks for your view bro!
the hollow end is called the skirt
The twist Tate for tour gun is not sufficient enough to be shooting these kind of bullet shaped bullets as in any real powder burner the twist rate is way more twists than the average air rifle twist rate due to the lack of the drag effect instead they rely on the weight and really fast twist rate to keep them flying straight and steady but I've seen some guns on youtube that shoot them good like the fx impact and some other air rifles check out airgun depot they have the vid
Diantre Creagh you’re 100% correct but I thought what the heck I’ll give em a go and see how they perform on my guns but I was more interested on their performance and yeah they perform! We need more pellets/ bullets like these to get the most out of our airguns but the way I see it they’ll most likely only perform well on more advanced barrels in the near future
AirgunnerCA yeah the sad truth and honestly ur not gonna get any good groups out of cheaper guns which sucks ya know cater to the larger variety but its all good I plan on gettin that air arms s410
Diantre Creagh s410 really? From what I can see they’re almost non available anymore
AirgunnerCA a buddies selling his for 300 great shape 1month old seals and already know the pellets the gun likes sounds pretty good to me and ur not lyin these things are dinosaur rare
Diantre Creagh it’s still a great rifle 👍 one of the first to start it all. Sub 12 or fac?
My Daysi 880 shoot the 177 with no problem 😂👌 I haven't try it on my maxi swarme 🤔 but I won't it's a expensive rifle I don't what it to get damage 😂👌
Can you shoot these out of a break barrel rifle?
No sir..
I have tried..
You’ll ruin your gun, the piston will most likely give out
They look like flying Tic Tacs
I shoot these all day out of my break barrel Crossman diamondback
Hey bud how can I get in contact with you for a hunt. I live in the central valley. When I get my first pcp air rifle.
Xia Vue hit me up in edgarlombera1992@gmail.com bro
Could I shoot this in a 370 FPS break action pistol even no it’s not a pcp
Nooooo… they can get stuck
What's fpe?
About 29fpe for .22 and .177 about 22fpe if I remember correctly
the aerodynamics is overshadowed by how heavy they are, airguns are most popular in countries that cant own firearms and in those countries airguns have very limited power outputs by law, so these pellets are too heavy for the majority of airguns sold worldwide and thats why they are not popular.
keep in mind the .22cal states on the tin, ''for pcp rifles only''..
po dunc definitely! A 30gr .22 will damage your typical springer, not sure about gas rams.
why can i ask
HD SG because spring piston air rifles don’t really have enough energy to shoot a heavy pellets like these and plus it’ll ruin the piston as well.
shadowninja81500 only! These are too heavy for any springer
@ADEBISI ADEBISI are they effective in your spring gun ? i have a gamo hunter 1250 insanely strong spring gun 27 foot pounds that can shoot them at 750 fps according to data . Will they worth my time a money hope you can answer this .
Can u put these in pistols as well
Hi can you use them in break barrel riffle?
Savio Falcao yes
Yes u can
If use in spring airguns it can put to much tension on spring and shorten its live span
I think those are slugs rather than pellets...
They are, only a few air guns out there, in the $1000s area, with special barrels can shoot these accurately. So far with what I own they don’t shoot well.
The piledrivers look like shotgun slugs
👍
They foul your barrel, always leave lead chunks in barrel. There bad for ur gun..
Those are what shooters of old called "a lead pill" for obvious reasons. Just someone bringing back the old and pretending it's new.
They get stuck in umarex gauntlets
How fast were you shootings them?
@@edgarlombera7066 as fast as a stock gauntlet typically shoots pellets. Which when shooting the piledrivers was about halfway through the barrel. My other pellet guns had no issues with them just the gauntlet.
they look like mini shotgun slugs
If you could speak in the same room as the microphone, that would help.
Lousy microphone I used at the time but I’ll do better later on. Thanks for the advice
Why would anyone buy pellets/slugs that are so inaccurate?
They're called slugs.
To get fpe you x vol x vol. X grain ÷ by 450240 = fpe
These are no good for anything. They don't work in any ordinary pellet rifle, and the slugs available now for PCPs are far superior.
Gamo cfx shoots em..
Nice 👍 didn’t know they still sold em…
@@edgarlombera7066lol my cfx is older than most school kids...
Bought before 2010...
These slugs were originally an english brand.. the 4.5 slug also came in a 4.46.. coz some guns jammed on the 4.5..
Came in a lil grey box..
Lots of fun these rounds... when you hit a fat pigeon the momentum of the round would just smack the bird off its feet.. like those metal targets that drop.... i have 1 round in a tin still... for memories...
That cfx has a few thousand rounds thought it already still shoots 100s
. . . Swarm maxim for me next...
Still .177... accurate and takes down large ferel cats no issues..
The pile driver has some bad reviews on Amazon
Get on with it
They are kinda like minie balls
SLUG!!!!!!!
Sure talks a lot
My break barrel likes em
Shoot speach afterwards wow boar your self. You said that worth like
Don't waste your money.
They don't fit!
These pellets look cool but will not work in my umarex gauntlet. They will not fit inside the barrel. I'm shooting at .22 Cal. Do not by these waste of money. I noticed he had trouble loading them. From some reviews on other videos they don't work on various gun either...
No wayyyy

You obviously love the sound of your own voice. I gave up half way through the vid. Still hadn't done anything other than babble redundant inanities.
You missed your calling. You should have been a politician.

That's because you are an imbecile.
Barry Hernandez not really I hate how I sound lol I don’t really practice or think what I’m going to say when I would make a video. it’s something I would do when I had some free time on my hands. But thanks I’ll take that as constructive criticism if I ever make any future videos.
mine will 1200+ with these
