'Tis the Season for Monica and David in Guatemala City!

- Monica and I are back in Guatemala City and this time for the Holiday Season! If you didn't already know, Monica and I eventually plan to retire in Guatemala and in this video you will join us on our search for the perfect apartment of our own in la Zona Viva.
After touching down at La Aurora airport, you'll see what life is like living in the city's zone of life at our Arbnb apartment in la Zona 10. We'll head to some our favorite restaurants like Tre Fratelli and Montano's and visit some new ones like 12 Onzas and El Juevo Frito where we'll have Gallo beer or two and of course some cigars. Given that it's the holiday season, we'll get into the Christmas spirit shopping for gifts at Fontabella Plaza where we'll visit some of Guatemala's high end stores and even stop for gelato. The rest of our time we'll catch up with old friends and meet some amazing new ones who will invite us to their parent's 50th wedding anniversary party! We'll go off the beaten path to discover new things too like Guatemala's La Aurora Zoo for some wild times and adventures with the animals and of course rejoice and celebrate with the family.
Finally, we'll celebrate my cousin's upcoming wedding to his new and beautiful bride and plan our trip to attend the nuptials in Antigua the following week. Please stay tuned for that video coming up soon. Oh what fun it is to spend the Holiday Season in our beloved Guatemala City!

I have watched this video 5 times now! Truly the best video showing us Guatemalans who have good jobs in USA and plan on buying a property in Guatemala City. Every other video I’ve watched is some American trying to “survive” in the city or trying to eat for $8 a day. This is exactly what I dream about doing soon, buying a nice condo, going to nice cafes/restaurants, cigar lounges…amazing video!
I am so happy you appreciated the video! Guatemala is an uber cosmopolitan city with such refinement and upscale offerings which you obviously appreciate like I do. Thank you David for the videos. This Christmas my family and i are going to Guatemala for the first time. We'll be staying at am Airbnb in cayala. We're renting a car to get around and spend some time in Antigua and Panajachel. Can't wait to visit the restaurants and places from your videos.

Thanks for the videos, I just bought a Drone myself and I wanted to know…… do you need any type of permission or insurance from customs to enter the Drone into the country?. I’m afraid to take mine and have it confiscated if they are not allowed without paperwork and what not.. thanks
I had the same concern and did a lot of research before going. I even went so far as to contact the Guatemalan Aeronautic Department but could never get a straight answer on that subject. The best I could gather was that any drone under 250 gms was ok to enter without registering it. I use the DJI Mini 3 Pro so it was no problem. No one even asked about it at customs.
