Its a bummer you're leaving next week because I fly down two weeks after that but if I were going for the first time I would visit Cayala for some shopping and food, Zone 10 in Guatemala City for its fun, food and cool vibe, spend 3 or 4 days in Antigua and maybe climb a volcano, 2 nights at Lake Atitlan for its sheer beauty, before flying to Tikal and the Mayan Ruins staying on the Island of Flores.

@VicandSheila91 While you are visiting during Guatemala's rainy season, it does not typically rain all day and, in fact, rains mainly in the evening and can go through the night but clearing by morning. It may hamper your evening plans on some nights, but you should be fine most days. Hope that answer helps.

Thanks for sharing your experience and memories Matty! We are the same Gen X generation and I just love reading memories of those days and the endless summers we got to live in OC back then. Also, I have gone to OC in the winter and it's really nice like you said but in a different way. The sunrises are incredible and I like the quiet and calm of walking down the beach with a brisk cold ocean breeze. I still prefer summer but a winter trip is worth it too!

Those were our personal scooters we take with us when we travel. They are pretty affordable and fold up to fit in the trunk. Bought them on Amazon.

I would say yes definitely for families since there are a lot of activities for the kids. Another great resort for families is Bahia Principes just for another option in Punta Cana.

I so appreciate your concern Anette and I'm happy to say Monica is just fine and has beat her breast cancer. We have just sadly 😥 decided to divorce. Not what I wanted, but one must continue on and become stronger in life especially in moments of sadness and grief. That is why I made the video to show others there is hope and happiness even after losing someone you love. That life can become even sweeter with time All my love to you, David.

I totally can relate. That is the one negative with Ocean City during the summer. The prices for hotels are just ridiculous! That is why we tend to go during Memorial Day or just after Labor Day weekend. The weather is still nice, less crowded and best of all, lower hotel prices.
