Dear SS, I think perhaps you don't know the history of how this movie was shot. First of all you should understand one thing. An actor's inability to act, inability to express or keeping his wooden and static face is often celebrated as 'so-called' real acting. Will any hero dare to act in such a small role (which Mr. S.A Asokan, B.A. did) as veteran Sivaji ? First of all will any hero (even a worthless hero but having fans celebrating his non-acting or under-acting) will have that guts unless he is having confidence that nobody can overtake him ? Sivaji had that guts ! But even though, Sivaji preferred to play the character which Asokan did later, destiny was such that he was persuaded to take the role of that sophisticated millionaire , a dfferent character from Paar Mahale Paar, which he did effortlessly with stylish gestures, costumes, and with different style of walking. You should realise one important thing that Sivaji can act so naturally and realistically, nay, even without dialogues or songs than any other actor in the whole world. There were many movies standing as testimony to this aspect. It is rather unfortunate that our country and our own people failed to give due recognition to such a great actor, but he was understood well and in true sense by many intellectuals all over the world. One thing. You cannot contain Sivaji, the infinite genius, in any few compartments of acting. Especially many of our English-movie goers and other ardent fans of world cinema have come to the above conclusion after deep thought. Within such a narrow scope and opportunity, this born actor did wonders which no actor can even imagine the whole world. Even after this explanation, if you still cling to the over-acting comment, I can say that Sivaji might have done that, to satisfy all kinds of fans who may not be as intelligent as you and who cannot understand his subtle acting, even though realistic action was not at all a matter for him who can do such action without any least effort than any of his counterparts. By the by, coming to the history of production of உயர்ந்த மனிதன், which I mentioned in the beginning, Sivaji acted and demonstrated to Asokan as to how to perform that role well. The producers of the movie and other AVM staff had stated later that 'Had Asokan did at least 25 % of the natural acting which Sivaji did and demonstrated for Asokan role, the movie would have attained even more success. So now who taught Asokan? None other than mighty Sivaji, a large-hearted person mainly interested in the success of total team rather than taking credit solely to himself. He helped many many actors like that including female artists as Savithri, Devika, etc by demonstrating and teaching even about female characters due to his wide experience in Dramas in female roles. Later part in tamil movies whereby comedy actors like Goundamani,Sentil ,Vivek and the great Vadiveloo was acting but once YGP was acting as comedy actor - Really feel like vomiting. YGP comedy is something like now present Santhanam comedy. They only can laugh amoung themselves. Stupid comedy with irritating dialog. You cant laugh at all their stupid comedies. Stop calling Ygp and Santhanam as comedy actors because if people call them as comedy actors then what should people call as for Gaundamani, Sentil,Vivek or Vadivelloo ? Learn the meaning of what is exactly COMEDY means ?

Sivaji should have done like that as Dual Role with completely different make-up, as Sivaji only gave valuable ideas and demonstrated to Asokan as to how to handle that Doctor role ! Producers AVM themselves told later that Real credit should go to Sivaji only for Asokan 's Doctor role ! Magnanimous Sivaji never told about the good things and help done to others by him.
