Yah I had a troybilt engine ran great self propelled didn’t. I ended up pulling engine off deck and putting it on a push mower deck that had a bag. Works great. Sold it not long afterwards. Even changed cover plastics to one that said craftsman like the deck and bag. 🤫 nobody will know 😃

I think I had the same kind of toro came my way. It’s transmission was screwed up also
It is now what I call a "stump jumper"! A cheap mower that takes a beating.
Sounds like the parts to get it fixed up and running again aren't cheap 💵💸 that is a sad thing that you had to remove the rear wheel drive system
