I went to the NCAR from 2003-2010 & then again last year for the finale. This exact race was one of my favorite moments! I definitely lean radial & of all that I saw in person (you'll hate hearing this 😉), 232 is ultimately my #1. If for no other reason then it's beautiful intake howl, that to my ears is unique amongst all the duplex cyclones, really gets the dopamine spiking. Me luvs it so! When Mike went around John, show center, I thought maybe this is the moment we're seeing a change in the dominant radial racer flag bearer... alas. I will say at the time I was quite frustrated with just how f'ing fast the Dago/Skip combo was, but now I realize just how lucky I was to have been able to see all these pilots & birds in the air together performing at their peak. You were even luckier. 😁
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU..! WOW - YOU CONTINUE TO POST THESE GEMS, I CAN ONLY IMAGINE WHAT YOU HAVE IN THE CAN, THAT YOU WON'T SHARE.... YOU DA' MAN..!
@@JBSmoke1 it’s insanely expensive, and the money they won for winning barely was enough to cover the crew rooms for the week. It was amazing to see and hear in person, and if I had stupid money, I would totally do it as well!
Reno held its last race last year, right now the air racing association is looking for a new venue to host the racing, as for the planes, a few are still around to this day, a few are in storage, and some are being sold around to new owners, and some, unfortunately have crashed, unfortunately info for some of these aircraft are hard to find, I've been looking for info on what happened to rare bear for years now!

Amazing to watch, amazing to consider the incorporated technology, and astounded at the expense to do this.
