I currently own a 2021 Toyota RAV4 built in Canada that I use as my commuter car. I bought it brand new March of this year and I’m currently at 14,500 miles without a single problem. It’s a great reliable vehicle. Toyota has superb quality standards in all their factories. I would definitely still consider the RAV4 if your currently seeking a great reliable SUV, with great resale value. :)

im in AU, on waiting list for RAV4 hybrid for 12 months and havent got it . Went to Mitsubishi dealer and fall in love with the Outlander PHEV right away. The interior in Outlander is a lot nicer , it has more bells and whistles , panoramic sunroof, HUD, Privacy screen, you name it. Was worried about reliability but then the 10 Years warranty covers that. (Toyota only 5 years )
ordered the Outlander , being told 3 months wait . no problem!
    cancelled the RAV4 right away.

Both fantastic cars. Love the new Outlander, super attractive SUV on the inside and outside. I've driven the RAV4 in the limited trim, it was very nice, heated seats all around, ventilated seats up front, the digital rearview mirror etc. The only thing is, I really wish Toyota could make it feel a bit more premium. The regular gas engine is quite noisy and the interior doesn't quite give the impression that the outlander does. Since the RAV4 has so many premium features, it would be awesome to see them put a few more things into the styling.
All I can say is, everyday vehicles are really starting to become really luxurious. At this point, fully loaded regular brands can be a lot nicer than base models from premium brands. Lots of features offered on these vehicles.

In New Zealand the Toyota will hold it’s price well , but the Mitsubishi will loose value fast . A 3 year old rav4 will still be worth nearly retail while a 3 year old Mitsubishi Outlander will loose about 25% value, after 10 years the Toyota will loose about 50% and you will have to pay for someone to take your Mitsubishi away . (I own an older Outlander)

Isn't that good, because you be keeping more money after 10 years versus having to buy a new vehicle.
I also have Mitsubishi but a Lancer, paid off many years ago while my friend talking about their new car having to pay $600± monthly, and $200-$300 monthly alone for the insurance.
So you think about that. It cost me $90 to insurance my lancer now and $120 monthly on gas. I understand people wanting to drive the latest new car but if you are smart, you be ahead financially. Most reliable car I own, I own a 09 Camry v6 as well but it is costly to repair. Easier to diy on the lancer. I bet this Outlander is also easy to work on as your older outlander as well.

They only heat the steering wheel halfway because they want to discourage you from gripping the top of the steering wheel which would cause serious damage to your face from your hand flying up and hitting you if the airbag goes off.

    • @EverydayReviews2022
      @EverydayReviews2022  2 года назад +6

Sorry not buying that. Pretty well most other cars with heated steering wheels are heated all around. When you’re maneuvering your vehicle in tight spaces are parking you’re still touching the top and bottom of the wheel while you’re turning it. If they wanted to discourage you then they might as well put a yoke in like the Model S Plaid. Anyways, every time I touch the cold spot on our Highlander, it just reminds me more how I hate a half heated wheel. Personal gripe.

Just want to point out, i have the outlander 2022. I find it quite queit. However, it can be even quiteer with the sunroof completely closed. Not the window itself, but the material that completely blocks out sun. There is a noticeable difference to me when that is closed for cabin noise. Only noticed recently because i always drive with it open :)

The Outlander is awesome but has one big deal breaker for me. It's that measly powertain they had in there. When I test drove it, I feel like it could have used and extra 30hp or a turbo, it had zero passing power.

Nissan is adding a 1.5L VC Turbo 3 Cylinder engine in the new Rogue with 204PS and around 220lbft with better fuel economy than the N/A 2.5L 4 Cylinder and since the Outlander and the Rogue shares a platform I think the new Outlander will also be getting it and theirs the new PHEV that just got recently announced with 250HP and on max around 309.

Wait a minute, she test drove a different Outlander than she started the video with. The upgraded leather stitching went away in the drive. My son has a new Rav 4 mid level and I have the new Outlander mid level . While I believe that the Outlander looks so much better, that’s a subjective opinion. What isn’t subjective is that mine has a lot more standard features that makes it stand head and shoulders above the Rav. But he achieves or beats his EPA mpg estimates and I can’t even come close to mine. Real world, he beats me by about 4-5mpg. That a big difference. I had a check engine light come on for about 25 miles on Thanksgiving. My hood like all the other Outlanders bounces around on the highway and Mitsubishi can’t seem to fix it. The Outlander slaughters the RAV4 ,in my opinion, in looks and features, but hey, nobody builds a better car than Toyota.

My button is to the right of the power mirrors, also auto folding when you lock the car can be changed in settings. Unlike other models that have that feature (acura namely) you cannot reverse with them folded. Which is annoying if you've folded them to park in a narrow garage. Mitsubishi has no such limitations.

Sitting there and comparing is stupid. Let me tell you something. When it comes to actually getting something fixed with Mitsubishi you will want to check yourself into a mental hospital by the time you get done. It's literally not stop issues. The quality of parts of exterior are literally junk. I had both front door trim panels fall off, rear wheel trim on driver's side, top rubber slits!!!
The EVAP system during the heat months you get gasoline fumes into the cabin. This is bc they put the hose into the frame of the SUV. They still do not have a legit fix for this. Its been over 9months.
I'm told that I could leave it at dealership until they hear back from Mitsubishi, which is obviously putting me without a vehicle for almost a year now.
I could go on and on. I do have some videos on channel. Oh also look up Mitsubishi towing reviews. They say they are nation wide but that's not true.
Don't get me wrong I'm not a Mitsubishi hater, considering I traded a 2020 Lincoln navigator black label for this. I trusted them and it really bit me in the ass.
