  • This recipe has become quite viral lately here in Italy and, I must confess, I was quite skeptic about it.
    I am a gelato lover and, in general, I don't like shortcuts when it comes to food, but, when I tried this (my mother strongly recommended it to me), the result was so good that I had to change my mind.
    This recipe comes from a famous Italian youtuber and great cook named Benedetta Rossi, an adorable lady that now has her own show on the Italian Food Network and became popular because of her kind and genuine attitude and for her very good recipes.
    If you are a gelato lover like me, this is definitely a must try!
    The ingredients for the basic flavor (FIORDILATTE) are just two, then is up to your creativity... now you have the chance to replicate your favorite Italian gelato flavor!
    INGREDIENTS:
    17 oz CREAM
    14 oz SWEETENED CONDENSED MILK
    INGREDIENTI:
    500 ml PANNA
    400 ml LATTE CONDENSATO
    Thanks for watching, a presto!

    TIP: Make sure your cream is cold and chill your condensed milk overnight. Add a splash of vanila extract (the alcohol prevents it from freezing to hard) 💫

    I made a version of this but a little different and churned it in my pint sized freezer bowl ice cream and it came out creamy as I ever had. So good!!!

    Tried this tonight. I used 300ml whipping cream to 297g condensed milk. Needed around 30ml of vanilla extract but maybe I have no taste. Initial tasting before freezing - what we call Mr Whippy in UK :-). My big problem with this recipe ... it is so easy with a stand mixer that I run out of space in my freezer!!
    Thanks for posting. Incredible.

    "looks and tastes like classic gelato"; is it authentic Italian gelato?

    • @TheXIngredient
      @TheXIngredient  3 года назад +3

      No, it isn't. to make authentic gelato, you need a gelato machine and the procedure is a little different in matter of flavors. That's the reason why I wrote "it looks and tastes like classic gelato"... the texture and the flavor are very similar, but of course traditional gelato, requiring a more complex procedure, is different. If you don't have the machine and no time this is perfect though! I hope this helps :)
