What a great video! No one has ever showed me the correct way to shoot but they sure didn’t mind selling me a bow and let me walk out the door. I am excited to work on these checks to become an even better hunter. Thanks for the help!
Been wanting to pull the trigger on getting a bow but been binge watching your whole channel makes me want it even more sadly don’t have local bow shops like this because I truly believe you need a person like Bruce to get you started
Do it man! When you are shooting a bow, just thinking about getting the arrow in the middle ring and .. not thinking about the other stuff.. so amazing. 🙏👍
8:13 "take those breathe, let it happen" Probably some of the best advice out there. I'm continually surprised at how much breathing does affect my shooting. I'm watching some of the kids starting to shoot and I have to keep telling them to breathe. The other thing I liked was the anchor point you spoke of "I don't care about whatever else happens, all that matters is that and that."
Step 1: Go to your local archery shop Step 2: Buy your Samick Sage variant of choice in 25lb Step 3: Buy 12 Victory VAP Jr's in 1000 spine Step 4: Buy a stringer, tab/glove, and a target Step 5: Go take some lessons, you will save SO much time. Definitely a fan of starting with a takedown recurve of as little weight draw as you can find, your mistakes won't get hidden by a compound, and therefore are WAY easier to spot and correct, then when you decide a compound looks like fun, everything you gained from the trad bow will transfer over to the compound with only minor adjustments needed...the same absolutely cannot be said in reverse, the other bonus to starting with a baby recurve, is you can shoot it in your back yard and not have to worry about misses and blowing through fences, houses, dogs or cats, etc.
If only......everyone got that level of accurate instruction when buying a bow. You get none when buying from big box stores. Only a pro shop will take the time. Bruce's instruction was really great.
Another great video! I've been "back yard" shooting for many years, and now coming back to it from (almost 3 yr hiatus) shoulder injury, surgery then recovery)! After every one of your videos, I'm learning that I have really developed a LOT of bad habits. Thanks for all of the instruction! It's truly invaluable, I only wish I could go visit in person... but it's a long drive from Philly! LOL *Please keep up all of wonderful instruction. Thanks again for the service you're providing to all of us. Happy Holidays and wishing you all a healthy and prosperous New Year!
I shoot my bow almost everyday . Just watching his couple tips that he gave her. Made me hold a lot steadier. I live in Michigan it’s snowing and 30 degrees right now and just got done shooting 50 arrows
Another good video - keep them coming. I'm using your videos to make sure I'm covering all the bases. My grandson started to shoot and to my surprise my daughter in law is a little more into shooting than the grandson. I told her we'll be looking to use a release so we tried one shot in the back yard and she did the same thing as Katelyn the first time. Spooked her a little.
@@BowDisciples man I am going to have to open one. Don't know how but that's the way it should go. I started shooting back 3 months ago after 27 year off in January. 3x 3d competitions and 6 practices. Was looking to go to tac in Pico Vermont! But it is sold out on the Saturday and I don't really have the gear to go there yet. Love your channel. Man I want I bow shop and a guy like him working In my shop. He was probably the owner, my guess! Great job again.
This is my first time for watching this video, there are different ways of looking at the details, but this tech has got an incredibly good understanding, just really good about quite a lot, we're always learning from everyone else, some areas are small and some areas are huge, she is getting some good help, 👍👍👍✌
Bruce was super and Kaitlyn was great. Very nice video. I haven’t shot compound for years having moved to recurves, but my life would have been a lot simpler back then if I had proper instruction like Bruce was showing Kaitlyn. Thanks for the video.
This is why you want to refer people to an archery pro shop vs. a big box store. That was not a flagship bow that young lady bought, but she received 5 star service nonetheless. This video could be a tutorial for how pro shops should treat new customers, as this level of teaching ability is rare.
What a great way to sell bows and promote archery. Hands on service with great advice and instruction. Now someone needs to teach her to hunt. I hope she takes up this great sport.
Wonder what Bruce thinks of the bowtech convergence.... I guess the 2021 rendition of this bow would be the amplify but I have the convergence. I think it's ah good beginner or just ah good bow for someone who doesn't wanna spend $1200.. I like it
When I bought my EVL34 from Bruce he handed me the box. 😆 But he knows I have a press and like to set up my bows. With that said he’s the only one I’d trust to work my bow in a pinch. I drive 3 hours to get to his shop.
This is the second video I've watched. Hot women getting instruction, 2 for 2. He's absolutely professional and respectful but dang. I have been bow hunting for 15 years, I know 2 female bow hunters and one is my wife lol. Honestly I'm glad see more women getting into the sport.
She felt like a natural, at least when wwatching her shoot. Would love to see her in another of your videos to see her shooting here a good half year later. Hope she kept shooting >>--------->
@@BowDisciples would be awesome. In the meantime I’ll just watch all your other videos. I’m binging em when I’m off work ever since I discovered your channel. Great stuff and love all your peoples! 🥰👍
What’s your opinion on the 2022 Bear Whitetail Legend Pro as a starter bow? That’s the one I’m set on. Also, what’s your opinion on drop away, vs wb rests. I’ll be hunting/shooting in CO if that has any play into the rest I should use.
Well, I should have known. I see what it takes to get good/attentive service at a bow shop. I have never seen this kind of instruction/help/time spent with a customer in any bow shop in my area. You have to be a friend of the owner and/or employees or be a local good ol' boy to get this service.

Nice to see a bow shop helping beginner bow hunters most shops don't do that or care
Agreed! It is an awesome shop.
I have watched a ton of videos to learn better form and best way to shoot a bow. This is by far the best. I gathered a lot of info from this.
Thank you, glad it helped
Bruce sold me my first bow 6 years ago, his shop is the best group of people i have ever meet. Its one of the things i miss about California.

100% agree when it comes to archery I only go to pro shops. There’s no room for dicking around when you’re shooting a bow.
