Dave Waite is the realest dude out there. Super nice, always stoked on skating and history. 35th couldn't ask for a better employee. He skates every day.
90% sure Dave sold me some Nike SB Tre AD’s off slap for a steal considering me and two friends skated them. One of them got them handed down to him a second time.
I liked grindkings. Still have 3 sets floating around, and other trucks (indy/thunder) with grindking kingpins. I never really noticed them getting loose
Just catching up on old pods. It's funny, I was totally with ya in the world/girl chocolate era, was my shit. Gino, Keenan, old Guy etc.. But I started around the time this dude probably did and older Vallely is unfuckable IMO. Public Domain - New deal specifically, even liked him in second Powell days. Clearly now, he's just riding whatever bullshit he's on and his jock fight phase also blew but older Vallely is too too good. I'll be honest, I moved away from the rigidness that was the "world/girl" style in my older years and went further back to when it was just more fun. Still do a switch flip occasionally but rather sometimes try and tweak a boneless which I never did when I was young and still not super easy for me lol.
Mike v in the Powell/world/and new deal times was great. Later on the ego killed it for me. I will say, regardless of what I think, there is a place in skateboarding for him. And as long as skating is fun that’s the way to go.
