What I like best from this era of the British rock music scene is the incredible pool of talented support musicians which pop up in different acts over the years. Seen here Mick Ralphs (Bad Company), Chris Slade (The Firm, AC/DC) and Jody Linscott (The Who, Elton John).

Yeah man! I love spotting musicians in other live videos. Clapton, The Who and Floyd had a few crossovers.

Pink Floyd was special. No one made anything even close. I don't mean it is the best but more unique. Gilmour made his own music, not copies of others. Today there are no gilmours. Everyone is a copy of one or more of 5 trendsetter pop stars.

You are the world’s best guitar-player, David Gilmour, that’s my opinion, no doubt about that 🌷

@@richbailey8174 I wrote this childish statement two years ago. Let’s say that he’s a really fine guitar player and he’s best when he is moody and not heavy metal 🙏

Bought that album when it came out, and still have it, along with his later ones . Good documentary quite similar to a later one, where he’s heading up to Glasgow and passing by Motherwell on the M 74 which is where i live.. thought that was cool.... total legend!

Gilmour just spreading his wings, from under what had become a very heavy burden, the relentless push for dominance by Waters.
And I love Waters! Arguably the best lyricist of that era! But so, indeed walled, he could no longer cooperate for the sake of PF

Watching now, approximately 20 minute mark, David is on fire & dude is pounding the drums. This is awesome. So the 80's and so many styles I hear .. righteous upload!

No worries MB - glad you enjoyed it and thanks for subscribing. What I share is just stuff I have collected (mainly on trading sites etc) over the years, and is sat on a hard drive. Might as well let people enjoy it! And it might be a major obsession with Floyd/Gilmour ;-)

Does "All Lovers are Deranged" (1984) sound a lot like "Quit Jammin' Me" by Tom Petty (1987)?
