Why do rear shocks have to change out with the front levelling kit?

I wish I could post my ranger! I bought this kit, watched this video out in the garage and step by step my dad did the passenger and I did the drivers side and we got it done in 2 hours! This was a perfect video and very well explained! THANK YOU SO MUCH it's perfectly level and looks amazing

Just FYI according to Ford service info, the sway bar bolts are disposable one time use only like 90% of the other bolts on the Ranger. Don’t ask why? Even the axle nut is disposable. I removed my front driveshaft for another kid, and had to replace all 12 bolts with new ones that you can only order from Ford. Then had to get a torque wrench with angle measurements because they are torque to yield. Even the drain plugs on the oil pan and differentials are disposable.

a couple questions, how much does it change the geometry of the control arms to the steering knuckle, and why change the rear shocks only

Asking the same question about the rear shocks, can't get a response.

Just sent a question to you at Stage 3 site. Why do rear shocks have to change out with the front levelling kit?

Hey Steve, did they ever get back to you? I'm curious as well. Thanks.

Can you still tow safely if you just put in the strut spacers? I’m not sure what all the negatives are

I'm thinking about going with this 2" level kit for my '19 Ranger. Would I be able to run with a 285/60R18 without any rubbing and no trimming?

Does using this setup with a bed rack + tent and camping gear will bring the truck nose up to much?

With the 2.5" BDS level what are the largest tires that will fit without rubbing?

So can i put a 4wd level kit on my 2wd drive ranger? Could’ve sworn i bought the 2wd version. Get the package and guess im working with the 4w only it says.
Just don’t understand why I wouldn’t be able to have the 4wd version installed on my 2019 2wd version

Why do you need the rear shocks if you are only lifting the front?

    • @mcoop571

There is no vehicle on earth that needs an “upgraded” rear shock worse than a new Ford Ranger.

What is a good tire size choice? Bigger than stock but with no rubbing on crash bars etc.

The FX4 Rangers like ours come from factory with a 265/65R17 (30.5") tire which is slightly larger than some of the base model XL trucks and obviously it fits without issue. Alternatively, a 265/70R17 (31.6") should still fit with either no rubbing or very minimal rubbing, but you won't be able to go much larger without cutting crash bars.

What about some 255/80/17 on there to give you the height but skinnier to turn in as well?

While I do love the classic look of taller "pizza cutter" offroad tires, we ended up throwing on 285/70R17's and did some trimming to get a clean fit. We'll have a whole video that goes into more detail on that coming out soon.

I just installed this kit and so far, so good. I'm wondering if anybody has experience with upgrading to 275/65R18 size without the need for further modifications over stock?

You know, taking the 20 seconds to drop the spare will save you time and neck in the long run.

    • @NoahStage3
      @NoahStage3 5 лет назад +2

I appreciate your concern for my neck. The spare honestly didn't present much of a problem though and the time it would take to lower the truck, get the bar out, drop the tire, lift the truck and re-position the camera and lights just seemed unnecessary to us.
