    1st off, thanks a lot! this saves a lot of money - though not time.... there are different configurations of the yaris although the engine, in this case the 1nz or 2nz, are all more or less the same - but it seems that postioning of fans/pipes/ac/protective plates etc [apart from that some jobs are done with ordinary car jacks on grass/tar etc and others with the help of a pro car lift in a garage or workshop] differ from country to country and year to year etc. hence what sometimes looks very simple on video, in real life can be quite a challenge - as i am 70 plus and doing it on my own this operation, even with more or less the right tools and some improvisation, took me hours - in other words, make sure your preparation includes both the right tools and don't be in a hurry and have alternative transport and someone to assist you! though in the end you will save money and feel a sense of accomplishement - and learn! after 14 years our yaris is still going strong, hard to beat toyota!

    Thanks for video.
    2001 yaris (1.0 litre)cranks no start. No spark on any cylinder (coil on plug). All fuses good. No fault codes. My scan tool is showing the RPM ( live data) when I am cranking motor - so I dont think there is a crank or cam sensor fault. Immobilizer flashing light on dash goes out when I put key in ignition. Have swapped horn relay with EFI relay. Coil has 4 wires |I think. Still havent checked to see if there is 12V on one of the 4 wires. I am now suspecting ignition switch at end of barrell. Any idea if ignition switch when turned to ON positon sends 12V to power the the coils?

      Has to be cam or crank sensor.
      Also check the earth wire on the gear box. Also could be the timing Chain snapped and the bottom end only Turning

      @@TEAMR4ULTV Yaris 2001 / 1.3 litre / engine code 2nz-fe. Crank no start. Fuel and fire present after all. When I did compression test, 125 psi on one cylinder and 90 psi on other 3 cylinders. From the research I could do online, this is not enough compression for this type of engine. Thanks for helping me out.

    I got a Toyota Yaris 2006. It's the automatic shift (manual transmission computer controlled, shifting fine between 1st and reverse) but my car won't start. For a couple of weeks it sounded like the battery was low. Starter was barely turning when cold. Now all I hear is a humming sound. Same problem?

      Any idea what the problem was? I have the same thing

    • @oiokohoi
      @oiokohoi 2 года назад +1

      @@Beaumont6 turnes out it was the spring loaded brushes on the starter motor that where full of dust, so they where not moving. if you give the starter a whack or two with a rubber hammer while someone tries to start it and it starts, might just be the same thing. or the brushes might jut be worn out.
