I have both the latest Windows 11 Insider Preview (Dev channel) and Windows 8 RTM (build 9200) on my desktop PC. You don't even have to guess which one is more responsive.
It's insane to me that the responsiveness dropped so much after all these years. Simple actions like opening the Start menu or File explorer all feel so delayed on the newer OS. MS really needs to step up with optimizations for their next Windows release.

they should aleast make window titles transparent and blurry (7 had stripes moving as you move window too but as they make uis oversimplified now they dont really need to add it)

Windows 8 is not actually bad as Windows ME. It's also the most stablest version of the Modern Windows. But the fact is people refused to learn the metro ui. It's not actually hard if you learn it but unfortunately majority don't want to change and there's no Option to go back to the Windows 7 ones
It's user interface is why it got hate so by getting used to it is hard

It's still unstable in many computers, used to have a Samsung laptop which had Windows 8.1 and ran like shit.

I upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 8 directly and then Windows 8.1 so i could keep all of the Windows XP applications on Windows 8.1

Fun fact:
Windows 8 has a hidden start button. If you hover your cursor at the left side of internet explorer icon, you have the start screen thumbnail shown in a small rectangle. If you left click, you get the start menu.

Windows 8.1, with Classic Shell / Open Shell = Best OS they ever made. 11 is garbage, because with Win 11 they abandoned all got good U.I. practices they developed in XP.
