It's funny how people asume that because someone screams in metal it's because they can't sing... Screaming is fucking hard and requires A LOT of vocal tequinique.

    • @lefthook4878

Dry lung vocals is an art, not everyone can do it. George Fisher from Cannibal Corpse does it with so much power it sounds inhuman. Phil Bozeman from Whitechapel will give you chills up your back. Tati from Jinjer is right in the middle of Fisher and Phil on the octave range.

despite common idea that to growl you`ll need to put yourself into a much of pressure and muscle tightness - this clip is a nice example that you don`t, you actually use fake vocal cords and diaphragm control, else you`d just hurt your vice and wouldn't be able to come back to clean singing.
it`s just an example of pure technique executed flawlessly, imho

Tatiana does indeed handle both the beautiful, expansive cleans and the visceral, brutal gutturals demonstrated in Pisces.
Another brilliant work of of art from their catalogue would be “ I Speak Astronomy”, shows off even more of Tatiana’s vocal range as well as more technical musicianship from the rest of the band. Whether it be for a video or in your spare time, absolutely cannot go past such a stellar masterpiece.
Loving your vids and openness to new experiences musically. A lot of people struggle to do anything different or new, but you embrace it and appreciate everything that it is and can be. Stay true man, \m/

OJ McClanahan The fact that Corey Taylor is still able to sing after all this time, it's due to proper warming up and technique. She *will* fuck up her voice eventually, as many others before her, if she doesn't warm up

    • @higler.
      @higler. 6 лет назад +4

Proper vocal warmups are crucial to sustaining a respectful performance while doing extensive worldwide touring, as well as needed to simply protect and prolong one's own voice. A vocal coach would just show her warmups that would benefit her signing and screaming style.

Alex!!! You gotta get Sarah to watch this. I have watched so many reactions (yours at least 50 times now) and even the women watching cant seem to hide the fact that they are moved at an emotional level by Tatiana in this live session. If she has a truly open mind and really opens the door I bet she would get something out of it. Tatiana's just has that impact. This is an amazing band and I think we will see them on top very soon. Keep up the dope ass work bruh!!!!!!!

Check out Jinjer - I Speak Astronomy...The last part of this song maaaaan, give me shivers everytime...
I'd like to reccomend some Opeth too...any song from them would be amazing, but i think "Harlequin Forest" or "The Drapery Falls" are good songs to start...Like Tatiana (singer in Jinjer), Opeth's vocalist can do amazing growls and clean vocals.

Another great female fronted band is Unleash the Archers. You should react to "Awakening" by them. The video is cool bc it's a lot like this one, it's a studio session so you can see the instrumentation. She is a much different singer than Tatiana though, she reminds me of a female Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden singer).

It is absolutely HER. The only thing that they did for this session is that they recorded the harsh vocal segments twice so her voice sounds deeper, more masculine, than it is usually. They made no secret of this. Everything by this band is awesome - live and in the studio.

Step forward and meet a new sunrise
    A coward is shivering inside
Today I'll, I'll be a friend of mine who swallows
    Suffering with smile
    I drew a different reality
    With unconditional loyalty
Ego hardly can be piqued 'cause I'm selfless
    Scale armour blaze
    Virgin innocence
    One being brings life
    Another runs for death
    Scale armour blaze
    Virgin innocence
    One being brings life
    Another runs for death
    No promises I ever give
Don't rely on me and I won't deceive
The beginning or the end you can't tell
When I wave my fin and shake my tail
    I grew in different normality
    With unblamable morality
Hooks and nets are there for me but I'm skittish
    Scale armour blaze
    Virgin innocence
    One being brings life
    Another runs for death
    Scale armour blaze
    Virgin innocence
    One being brings life
    Another runs for death
    Neptune's child shivering inside
    Drowns in the liquid gold
Cherished his life to the underworld
Meet me flashing when the winter cries
    Pisces swimming through the river
All their life against the stream
Searching for a hook to catch on
    And see their sun beam
    Then suffocate in painful tortures
On cutting tables of callous men
Under a knife of handsome butchers emeralds are ripped away
    Emeralds are ripped away
    Emeralds are ripped away
    Emeralds are ripped away!!!

Welcome to the wonderful world of Jinjer! First album great. Cloud factory even better, then King of Everything even better again. Amazing. Saw them live in London Nov 17 and Tatiana and the boys were awesome and yes she can do it all live. Extraordinary. Going again to see them in Feb 19. Cant wait. I honestly cannot think of another band I've heard in the last 20/30 odd years that produces song after song after song that is superb. As great as they are not even Pantera, Slayer, Metallica, Megadeth, etc, etc. These guys are off the scale. There are literally only 2 or 3 of their songs that are not a 9 or 10 out of 10, where they really seriously let themselves down, as only 8's... Ridiculous!
