I feel like Kyle is the reason for the battery going out. The white light that we see in the Teen Lantern story that leads to the black monsters have to have something to do with Kyle and Oblivion. I think Kyle went full Hal Parallax and destroyed the central battery.
@@MosaicComics If anything Kyle could also be under the control of one of the 4 horsemen just like Wally in the FS Titans book. Kyle was a Titan for some time and they are having past Titans act as teachers. If you look close at the FS Shazam book you see Billy going over memories first with Titans Academy then to those black monsters attacking and John Stewart calling for back up. I think these are hints that the 4 horsemen attacking Titans Academy and the death of the central battery must of happened either at the same time or by the same person.
I hope they don't make something horrible or nasty to Kyle, like turn him evil, insane or simply kill him, in order to make shine other characters. Sadly that seems very possible.
I can't agree more with this video and the previous one (tho I'm more pessimistic). For me, I was unimpressed by most of the GL stories, except for Jessica's since that would be a cool status quo for her (and Simon). While I liked the message of Thorne's story, it wasn't worth turning GL into a generic sci-fi story and focusing way more on Legion of superheroes and 4th world concepts than GL ones. I thought the new characters and g'nort were okay but would've preferred seeing Kyle and Simon way more. Keli and Guy being stuck on planets was fun and gave new light to these characters but there was something missing. I would've loved it if the teen lantern story focused more on Keli talking to Mogo and learning about the other lanterns than her just fighting random monsters (tho I liked seeing her dealing with her fears). The hal story was well written and drawn (except for the corny, irrational and cliche ending) but was generic and uninspired, especially since we saw the same story in 2015 with Hal's renegade days (I actually thought the ship was Darlene) and Sinestro corps replacing the GLC.

It could be. And I guess if any Lantern could destroy the battery and still be welcomed back afterwards, it's the Torchbearer.
