- After many years of refusing I have finally watched The Last House on The Left remake. I decided to team up with @OnceOverwithCayley who reviewed the original and see how the remake compares. Is it better? Worse? Or is it just as good? Let's find out!

The Freddy vs Jason episode was taken down due to copyright and had to be re-edited. A new version is up now. ruclips.net/video/Z6GqwlN5Bok/видео.html
Tony please do something about the Alien 3 case or the other cases that you put in front of the A3 case this week ( I think it was the last house on the left.) But the way things look makes me feel the 2 movie are connected and sooner or later you will start talking about A3. This has happened enough to me I had to say something.
The remake idea from you and Cayley sounds hilariously entertaining, and i never knew I'd want such a thing so much until now. Especially with the addition of the Omen "head" spinning implementation.
Eventually a bunch of RUclipsrs are going to need to band together to fight back against the copyright issues. If a lot of you got together to file a lawsuit, things could finally change for the better instead of getting worse. The studios are going to keep punching you in the balls until you finally fight back
Cayley has become one of my new fave female cohosts! She's gotta be on more episodes! I love her energy!
Yeah she cute
Agreed, there’s no bad woman on this show.
@@InfiniCalendarnot a huge fan of Mint tbh, she is sweet and cute but i don't care about her takes..i like her in small doses i guess
I absolutely LOVED this remake. I LOVED Garret Dillahunt and Tony Goldwyn in this movie. One of the best remakes.
How come no one cites renting discs from Netflix? It's like everyone's memory skipped a decade and goes from Blockbuster to streaming. Thanks for the vid. Need to revisit this.
For me it did. I rented at rental stores all the time but I nvr used Netflix rent a DVD thing, it wasn't nearly as common.
Too bad we never heard Aaron Paul (Francis) say, "Yeah, b*tch!" in it.
That's crazy I just finished recently re-watching this over the weekend, and yes this movie still holds up in my opinion, another underrated remake that dererves it's followers 🌹 I was mind blown that one of the misfits were Aaron Paul from Breaking Bad it's crazy I missed that years ago.
Cayley is a good co-host she really seems to know her shit
Buying a 6 pack at a bar is too expensive. I live in Scranton and growing up the rule was if you don’t sell gas you could sell beer(12 packs, 6 packs, 24oz, 40s). About idk 8 years ago anyone could apply for the license but you also needs to supply seating and a bathroom(same size limits). Like idk 2-3 years ago you are allowed to sell liquor that’s 21% or less. I found out two days ago gas stations etc can sell full proof shots of liquor if you are approved for a restaurant liquor license.
I went to the U of Scranton 20 years ago and I can say I will not miss the PA liquor laws.
This woman has a beautiful voice. Lord have mercy.
Agreed that this one benefits from a remake. The original is a rough watch…you definitely feel like you need a shower after watching it. David Hess’ performance (and his score) still hold strong though. Also agree that the Hills Have Eyes remake is great (again, the OG is a classic, but damn….my hats off to that remake).
I don't keep my boat keys in my boat.
I would love if you do the hills have eyes 1977 version vs the hills have eyes 2006 version
Solid suggestion
I agree with the lady speaker that while the 2009 remake was by no means bad, it did not really retain the spirit of the original film - the brutality of the original murders (both girls dead and the son manipulated by his own father to shoot himself) and the equal brutality of the revenges, with the mother in the "Richard" scene and the father almost deranged at the end using the chainsaw. As the lady said, the film needed finality where everybody lost (girls dead and so whatever revenge was futile). The remake had an artificially "happy ending" which was impossible and ridiculous. Given what the boy did, I hope the suggestion that he should marry Mari was only a joke, unless there is a horror sequel with Mari stabbing people with a knife.
Boat mechanic here. Sometimes, Boat owners would have two sets of keys, one to unlock the boat to get inside & the other set would be the ignition keys to start the boat. Most of the time the owner would leave the ignition keys on the boat itself (in a compartment for example) while the keys to unlock the boat would be somewhere above deck (in a locker or a hidden compartment.). Now from my experience you really don't need them, because a majority of the time, the owners would just leave the hatch windows unlocked.
Thanx for the tip 😈😁
Cayley has the best voice
Can't usually watch movies like this, tbh. Wb Cayley!
The original is one of my favorites for Mari (character AND actress), John and Estelle (typical Wes Craven heroes), the grainy, realistic early 70s look, how the Krug, Sadie, and Weasel actors actually make me like them when they aren't villainous, and how the whole thing makes me WANT to watch it. Sadie's friendship with Junior is so cute, and Junior himself--I LOVE when Mari gives him her necklace and BEGS him to escape with her! She literally only dies because she REFUSED to leave him!
When I first saw the remake from Netflix when it was first on DVD (by ACCIDENT--I ordered the ORIGINAL) I TRIED, but it was HARD, and it was the one I saw first. I just didn't like anything about it, and it didn't make me WANT to watch it because everything is just so fake, cold, and lifeless. I've tried to be fair to it since on Tubi, but it never works. The ONLY thing I like is the ending, Mari and Justin survive, what I STILL wish for Mari and Junior:( The 'Hills Have Eyes' remake is JUST like that, I saw it in the theater first because my dad saw the original when he was 14 and was curious to see it, with Beast literally the ONLY thing I liked...:/ All they did was make me want to see the originals, and both times were WORTH it.
Back in Brooklyn you could get beer in any grocery store in the 70s and 80s
Great review guys, Tony you surprise me. Tony Goldwyn the good dad was in Ghost and your favorite F13. You just glossed over him .
I can't remember everything an actors been in! But thanks for the thanks!
The ending with the microwave I think was added in a reshoot per studio demand. The people involved in the film have expressed that they're not a fan of the scene
glad you brought back the Hack The Movies intro
What I would like to see would be a movie with cell phones, or land lines, where the police are called and the rest of the movie happens from the time it takes them to reach the house. The average response time for police is 10 minutes, and 18 minutes for an active shooter.
56:16 My main gripe in this movie was the fight scene between the dad and Sadie. The dad was the weakest hero I've seen in a horror movie. Sadie was winning the fight against the dad. The dad was losing against the girl of the gang, the weakest member of the villain gang.
Landline phones still work during a power outage.
Can't wait to see this guys!!
those are such weird ass rules. reminds me of when I lived in Texas on Sunday. you can buy alcohol until after noon because of church I guess. but I live in Vegas now so every convenience store has unlimited beer or even hard alcohol 24/7
I always wondered if devoted Sadie was based on Sexy Sadie one of the Manson family killers.
The remake was more darker and violent than the original.
* David Hess starts laughing *
Mom an Dad went to see the orginal on a date, mom didnt like it too much Dad liked it alot . Was the 1st rental from Blockbuster back in the day, that an Killer clowns, they let me watch an love, I was 8ish hide Lasts house on the left so I knew it was something Bad :(
I have only seen this version once, but the OG twice. The OG grosses me out. I like this version better, because of Tony Goldwyn. Speaking of Tonys, i don't get it. Tony has a thing with eyes, but dick biting is okay? Tony needs help. Btw, Tony, it's only a movie. No need to overanalyze it. Those creeps deserved to died. If you've seen the Elm Street movie, you know that the police are useless. Also, Kaylee, shot-by-shot remakes don't work. Tony, leave Jessica Biel's name out of your mouth.
I just happen to see a Movie starring Sara Paxton last week, called Superhero Movie (2008), directed by a guy named Craig Mazin who did TV I never saw.
Getting back to topic this is Horror Remake NUMBER 3 OUT OF 4 for 2009:
1. My Bloody Valentine 3D, released in January of 2009,
2. Friday the 13th, released in February of 2009,
3. The Last House on the Left, released in March of 2009,
4. The Stepfather, released in October of 2009
Maybe you could've done a review for The Stepfather (2009) as it was released exactly 14 years ago, on OCTOBER 16 th, 2009!
Sorority Row came out that year too, its a remake of House on Sorority Row
Thanks for getting that Freddy vs Jason episode back up loved that episode
Same.
Who is the person reviewing this with you ? I’ve never seen before this person.😂
Watch the Freddy's Dead episode
Hey all, I love your content and thank you for all your work. Will you review Porky's (1981) some time?
27:40 Tony, it’s a good point, shitty Wi-Fi/data is a real thing. We have QR codes to order drinks in bars that are Wi-Fi dead zones. That should be a movie Tony
I will have you know good sir it is Jessica Beil’s rockin bewwbage versus Leatherface.
Just as it is Eliza Dushku’s butt crack jeans versus those inbreds in Wrong Turn.
I feel about the same. Liked the remake, but not as much as the original. Tony Goldwyn played the bad ghost in "Ghost" and the yuppie victim in Friday the 13th Part VI.
The Remake is Brutal & Really Good 😃🤘😃🤘
Around here you can buy alcohol from Dollar General stores. 😀
This is one of my favorite underrated horror remakes. It's 1000× better than the OG! Especially the microwave scene
The new version of Last House On The Left was even better than the original, which was still great.
The microwave kill at the end is the dumbest thing Ive ever seen in a movie.
Can you actually turn a microwave on with the door open?
Lol
@@robk.6591 exactly!
@@briancarlson3008Even dummer than the ending of Freddy's Dead?
@@JIF882 Yes, because that allows the idea of fantastical ideas at least.
My uncle was in the original. Both are good movies. Your famous Johnson biting scene.
Thought you got copyright stricken again. Started the video on mute and was so confused. Watched all your attempts to repost the last video as you posted and before the strikes. Good luck in the future. RUclips just likes to upset it's viewers and creators like it wouldn't matter if we all left.
just watched the original for the first time, it was great
I live on the first house on the right I almost wanted to get a projector and beam this movie on my house. I remember watching the uncut original and they completely edited out the part where the baitman in the group starts acting like a junkie and being all sick and the woman they end up torturing starts saying "its okay I can get you methadone!" its really funny because you can't find that in any of the new releases unless its an old school cut
Hey Tony! What kind of mic do you use? My friends and I have a podcast and I need a new mic 😂
I can’t be the only one who thinks the dad (Tony Goldwyn) is super hot right? 😸😸
I’ll say it’s about the same both aren’t movies I go back to .but the hills have eyes remake is way better imo.
God bless Cayley 😎🤘💯
Sorry to hear that Tony. RUclips copyright claim is such bullshit.
How the hell have I not seen this yet? (Both original and remake)
Does anyone know the joke that Krug was telling right before the car was hit by his gang?
I just went to the "Freddy vs Jason" video, gave it a thumbs up again, and am playing it in the background on mute while watching this video. #youtubeblowsgoats
Wait, you seriously have never had a microwave start to work with the door open? We've had two microwaves that were flawed like that. The last one was more of a door partially open situation, but that still meant it was leaking radiation. The first one was more dangerous, because the door lock was loose and the door would sneak open as it ran. In both cases it happened because the microwave was dropped.
I'm convinced Tony's last name means 'floppy boobs' and not 'floppy hat' the way he keeps bringing up tiddys.😂
Guy from europe here. Can someone please explain the whole "you can't buy beer in a regular store and you can't buy sixpacks" thing to me?
This is mostly a Pennsylvania thing not the rest of the US. It has to do with some old ass law the quakers made or something. But if you want liquor you have to go to a liquor store. If you want beer you have to go to a bar or beer distributor. They just recently started allowing them in some grocery stores and gas stations.
@@HackTheMovies I don't want to sound like an a-hole but I'm always amazed how many stupid restrictive laws the "land of the free" has.
And please review the The Hills Have Eyes remake. Or even better all of them. The sequel to the original is a terrible cash grab.
@@eryaid everyone in PA that I know hates this rule
You guys might like Scene 27 from "Our Robocop Remake"
kind note that tony hasn't yet surpassed the cinema snob which we aimed for
Just watched the original. Breakthrough at the time. Tame for current times. Soundtrack took me out of it.
I rewatched the Freddy vs Jason episode with my girlfriend after the reupload because she hadn't seen it yet.
Is there much of a difference between this and I Spit On Your Grave?
I’m not a Karate Kid fan never watched it still haven’t but I love Cobra Kai , people like me know Daniel San was the real villain in Karate kid he was a bully to Johny lol Cobra Kai is Karate Kid from the other perspective. He stole Johny’s GF and broke his radio while poor Johny was being abused by Kreese.
I'm gonna watch the Freddy vs Jason reupload a bunch of times!
I never watched these movies, I have a copy of the original but I couldnt get past the cheesy soundtrack so ended up turning it off before the guys ever made it to the house.
🥶
Lucy!!!!!!
What? You can’t buy beer in a gas station in PA?
Not until recently and not everywhere
I could have sworn this was Spit on Your Grave.. 🤔 Did they ever remake that?
Yeah there's like 2 or 3 sequels.
I can't remember anything about this movie besides the confusing use of a microwave at the end. Tbf the rape/revenge genre hasn't been interesting since Paul Kersey succumbed to his wish
I hope I don't regret this, but......can you elaborate on that last sentence?
@@LembeckIsStaying Death Wish?
@@SamcroSon
Ohhhh, I thought you were referring to some director being outed for something. Not much of a Death Wish fan lol.
55:25 have you seen "teeth"? 😏
I'm buying you more letters for your marquee.
excuse me, Kare micucci is the hot one
Wrong
tony you need glasses @@HackTheMovies
No.
Ghost tony never seen Friday the 13th part 6 never seen ghost or the belco experiment
I don't know if it's controversial or not, but, in my opinion, the remakes of The Last House on the Left and I Spit on Your Grave are better than the originals.
I’ve watched it twice 😂🎉❤
Rly? U brought back the deep voice lady???
Also dont watch/like movies with rxpe. murder and violence in a movie is one thing, but ya gotta draw the line somewhere
You must not have seen the I Spit on Your Grave series then
I mean, this film literally draws that line. That's the entire plot.
@@Rad-Dude63andathirdalr u made me laugh 😂
"murder is one thing..."
😂😂😂😂 lol, what?
Both are equally bad. Don't cherry pick. Also what wrong with her having a deeper voice? lol
It's better than the OG. The OG is campy af. Way too goofy for the serious plot elements.
That microwave kill in the remake is literally the goofiest shit ever put on film.
not goofier than the OG film. @@briancarlson3008
@@briancarlson3008 It's goofy but not the most ridiculous thing in a movie.
Tony! Toss that Neil Diamond tape in the trash!
I'll be honest the original one of the worst movies I've ever seen I won't call it horrible just because I don't think it was made for me I just can't stand to even watch the original but the remake was really good
horrible ending more slugs less drugs
A couple of raging feminist on this one
What?
Is Cayley trans?
Is that any of your business?
No Adams apple, small hands. If you have to ask, you need to spend more time with women.
@@tipi5586 voice sounds off
@@LexEx913Not an appropriate question
That's random, and none of your business.
Not even trying to be controversial nor disrespectful, but it is 2023. Is that a man because "she" has a deeper voice than Tony and done-up hair and boobs don't mean anything nowadays. What's the 411?
"She" also has bigger hands and jaw than Tony... is that a dude?
....how could anyone find that disrespectful?!
Yes I feel we know.
