  • @RG75YT
    @RG75YT 6 лет назад +5

    It was actually build 462 of Chicago/95 that introduced the 95 sounds, the first beta 3 build of 98 still had 95 sounds, build 2470 of ME (The build that introduced the ME bootscreen) still had 98 sounds, and I think build 5840 of Vista still had XP sounds, I found this out by a user called Akibachudoku, who does beta videos and shows the sounds in each build.

    For Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000 Pre-Beta, Beta 1, and Beta 2: To modify the shutdown sound, go to \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\AppEvents\Schemes\Apps\.Default\SystemExit\.Default\ and change the value from "C:\Winnt\Media\tada.wav" to "C:\Winnt\Media\Windows NT Logoff Sound.wav" and go to the Sound Settings in the Control Panel and test the "Exit Windows" Event.

    Windows 10 technically has a startup sound, it's just disabled by default. Then the logon-logoff sounds are hidden in the registry so you would have to edit the registry to see it.

  • @archived527
    @archived527 7 лет назад +4

    Pretty accurate, but a few things aren't right:
    1. Some of the later 2000 Beta 3 builds (the ones that came out in 1999) actually use different sounds that are like the final, though the piano sounds different and there are no vocals. (The startup can be heard at ruclips.net/video/o8lxN8zSsHk/видео.html) Many people think these were used in Millennium Beta.
    2. The UK version of Server 2003 doesn't use that sound. It actually originates from a promotional animation (it appears at 0:18), and it's also pretty low quality, making it obvious it was ripped from RUclips. Server 2003's shutdown sound is also disabled by default.
    3. Some sounds from official downloadable themes for XP and later (such as Nile, Christmas 2004, etc) are missing, though many of them are hard to find. I can drop some links to you of them if you want.

    • @LoogiTheDino
      @LoogiTheDino  7 лет назад +1

      Thanks for the constructive criticisms and feedback. It would be great if you can provide those themes, which will help for All Windows Startups and Shutdowns v3.
      I honestly don't know why it was in the spam section. It was a good comment too.

    • @archived527
      @archived527 7 лет назад

      Here is a .zip full of the missing sounds for you. I've included some notes as well.
      www.dropbox.com/s/hmmohiw47la9p77/startups%20and%20shutdowns.rar?dl=1
      (I've omitted the Japanese Windows 7/8 theme shutdown sounds as that might be taking the piss, since they consist of voice clips, but if you want them as well, I can give you them.)

    • @archived527
      @archived527 7 лет назад

      Oh, and another thing I forgot to mention: Vista builds from 5536 to 5840 used a different shutdown sound, which would later become the logoff sound.

    Build 2481 is the only XP build with both the finalized boot screen and "Version 2002" in the boot screen. Although it is the first build to include the XP sound scheme, it uses the Windows 2000 sounds by default. Build 2485 removes the 2000 startup and shutdown sounds, as well as the "Version 2002" from the boot screen.

    All of the Windows NT 5.0 shutdown sounds are wrong. It is actually the same as the Windows 2000 beta (builds 1946-69) startup sound.

      Nope. You didn't do your proper research did you?

    • @jacobbates3185
      @jacobbates3185 7 лет назад

      I take that back. It was actually NT 5.0 BETA 2 that you got wrong. The NT 5.0 beta 1 was correct. And I had done my extensive research.

    The correct shutdown from Build 1671-1945 is the Windows NT 4.0 shutdown sound, but the EUR Edition to me needs to have the Windows 2000 Build 1946 startup sound as its shutdown.

      @@ThatRandomToast Yeah, but EUR Edition actually has Windows 2000 Beta 3 Startup as its shutdown

      @@ThatRandomToast Okay, but EUR Edition 1.1 needs to have the Windows 2000 Beta 3 sound and EUR Edition 2.0 the Windows 2000 Build 1983-2000 sounds
