    ***I got Memphis builds 1602-1619 wrong. The sounds in this build should be the Windows 98 RTM startup sound and the later beta 2.1 and beta 3 shutdown sound. This will be corrected in the next video
    ***The January 1994 bootscreen for Chicago is fake. Many .ISOs online have been modified to have the January 1994 time stamp on the boot screen. When unmodified, it should still say January 1993.
    ***The final beta release boot screen of Windows 95 was left out.
    ***I left out some boot screens (Windows 3.1 build 26 and 43e. Windows NT build 297, Windows 3.1 for Pen Computing. Windows 98 build 1593.)
    ***I used the wrong boot screen for Longhorn builds 3683-4008 which use a copyright date of 1985-2003. I put the Windows XP Professional RTM boot screen instead.
    *Windows did not have any sounds before 3.1.
    *Windows NT 5.0 EUR is fake.
    *Windows NT 5.0 does not use that Windows 2000 beta 3 builds 1946-1969 startup as a shutdown.
    *This Whistler startup and shutdown sound: • Fake Windows Whistler ... is fake
    *Microsoft Longhorn sounds aren't official and are believed to actually come from a Windows XP Custom Theme
    *Windows Server 2003 UK sound is fake.
    *Odyssey bootscreens are fake. Any video that has Odyssey is incorrect. While Neptune and Odyssey were being planned out at the same time, they only released one Alpha build of Neptune and Microsoft never released a single build of Odyssey so no one knows for sure what sounds it would have. I would assume it would have Windows 2000 sounds but I wouldn't put up an unleaked OS on these videos.
    *Windows 8 and 10 have the Windows 7 startup sound. The reason why you don’t hear it is because it is disabled by default. You can enable it in the “sounds” window where you change the sounds. It is a box that you need to check that says something like “Play Windows Startup Sound”. You also need to have fast startup disabled for the startup sound to play. To disable it, go to power options in the control panel, on the left on the window, click "Choose what the power buttons do", click "change settings that are currently unavailable", and you should be able to uncheck "fast startup", click save changes, and then restart.
    *Windows Codename Millennium used Windows 98 sounds. No, I’m not wrong. I know this.
    *Some of the Vista builds used the Vista logoff sound as a shutdown sound. One build used the logon sound as a startup sound while others used XP sounds or mixed between XP and Vista sounds.
    *The earliest builds of Whistler had a Windows 2000 boot screen.
    *Whistler build 2481 was the first build to introduce Windows XP sounds but still kept Windows 2000 sounds as default.
    Try out the operating systems yourself like I did and you should get the same results as me.
    I did not make most of these images.
    I do not own the audio in this video.

    Changes in this video:
    *Corrected Windows 2000 builds 1983-2000 bootscreen
    *Changed Windows NT 5.0 bootscreens to more clear images
    *Added builds to Windows 3.0, Windows NT OSes, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2016, Windows Home Server, Windows 7, and Windows 10
    I did not add Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, or Windows Server 2008 RTM due to a lack of information on sounds. Once I am able to figure these issues out, I'll be adding them.

      @@mina256 Nothing. I decided to add more and fix the bootscreens. I want this video to be complete as possible. It's a goal of mine. I decided that I will never stop doing these videos until I get absolutely everything. The lack of knowledge on some builds are delaying me, but I hope I will get by that.
      The only thing major was adding more builds. Did you notice before that I had builds for all Windows OSes except Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7-10, and Windows Server 2016-2019? It simply does not make sense to leave them out if I can easily acquire the knowledge I need to put them in. I did not change a single thing other than that except changing some images to be clearer. I updated the video for the sake of being complete. That's all I ever wanted this video to be.
      Did you ignore the section of the comment where I mentioned changes?

      @@Chan4444mc This is not the only source I looked at, but something must've went weird with the installation or something because this video for an example has the Windows 95 startup sound: ruclips.net/video/a5B0vUw7PkY/видео.html
      I think the build may contained the Windows 98 RTM startup sound, but may have not enabled it by default. This is the case too in Whistler Build 2481. Sometimes if you clean install, you'll have installation issues that cause the wrong sounds to be enabled by the build. To get the build to work correctly without installation issues, upgrade from a previous build. (Even Whistler 2481 has this issue, even know it is a build well known for it containing the Windows XP startup sounds, but keeps the Windows 2000 startup and shutdown sounds default.
      There it a reason why I left out of the boot screen. If the boot screen does not change during the OS's development at all, I leave it out.

      @@Sonicrush007 Build 1602 is the actually first build that uses the Windows 98 RTM start up, because I did a clean install of that build. If you do an upgrade from an older build or Windows 95, it still keeps the Windows 95 start up sound in the files. Build 1592 was the last the build to have the Windows 95 startup and error sounds. I did a video showing Build 1602 ruclips.net/video/wK7w6d7TV_c/видео.html

    • @Sonicrush007
      @Sonicrush007  4 года назад +4

      @@DuranMedine This is rather confusing to me. I'm not sure what to believe. I feel as if the builds were intended to be upgraded from a previous build and that's the way how things were supposed to be. What if we upgraded from 1592 or a previous build to 1624? I feel like the sounds would definitely change. I'm reading on other sources that 1624 was the first to switch to RTM sounds, so this is why I'm rather confused about this one. It isn't just the videos.

    • @Sonicrush007
      @Sonicrush007  4 года назад +19

      I'm working towards making this video as complete as possible, hence my dedication into this.
      I guess you could say Windows would've been different without a Longhorn reset, but in order for that to have happened, Apple would've had to not make Mac OS X Tiger as modern looking as it did. Mac OS X Tiger was the reason why there was a reset. Microsoft was shocked when it released in 2005 and the original Longhorn felt obsolete. Looking back at the original project, it seemed more like a Windows XP with a gray skin and a clock and widgets to the side added and that's it. That's what would have probably released if Microsoft had stuck with it. There would've been less complaints about compatibility (Vista was quite demanding on hardware). Maybe Longhorn would've been called "Vista". I can't even begin to imagine how they would get to Windows 7 or even any of the modern OSes. If Apple did not succeed on modernizing Mac OS X, Microsoft would have been on a different path on making Windows like it is today. This is rather an interesting thing to think about.

      I acknowledge your point with 2481 and agree 100% and if I update the video, it will be changed.
      The reason why I did that was because BetaWiki considered this the last build to use Windows 2000 sounds by default while being the first to contain Windows XP sounds. I did some testing and noticed that if you clean installed it, it used Windows XP sounds. If you upgraded from a previous build, it used Windows 2000 sounds. I was not sure about my claim either so I looked at some RUclips videos where they installed Windows 3.0 MME before I made this video and this was what I heard. I'm open to anyone telling me I'm wrong as long as evidence or reasonable claim is provided. I will know for sure on this when I get Windows 3.0 MME to run in PCem properly. I have had issues getting it to run on any VM and emulation environment.
      Just as a note, I do test these builds and these OSes in this video, but there are some builds I cannot test due to installation issues and some builds being exclusive to BetaArchive FTP access members. So while I keep my claim that this is the most accurate "All Windows Startup and Shutdown Sounds" video on RUclips, I can never say for sure that it is 100% accurate until I somehow get access to every single build which is impossible because BetaArchive pretty much monopolizes these builds and they have freaked out over other websites hosting the builds.

I always called it the dinosaur computer in later years when we would get a new computer. We would also have Windows 2000 and especially Windows XP, which I think was the one we had for a really long time, even going into the 2010's. We would later switch to Vista, and I clearly remember my mom getting her own laptop that had Vista on it for work stuff and told us we couldn't really use it all that often. I remember using that laptop for years until the screen broke technically and had lines across it and bad pixels, also the keyboard became useless because there were so many missing keys that fell off after repeated use.

      Unfortunately I can't do that. To put every build in the description would exceed the character limit. I'll post the Vista builds with mixed sounds in another reply so you don't have to keep listening to the same comment when trying to hear the list.
      Please be aware that I'm only listing the builds that were in this video. When I rendered and uploaded this video, I was completely unaware that a dozen builds were leaked a day prior and I have not yet looked into them yet. Also, to get many of the Windows builds, it would require FTP access to betaarchive.com because people who leak these builds upload exclusively to that website and then sometime else would upload it to another website like WinWorldPC.com. FTP access to beta archive is not easy to get because you would have to have some sort of software that they don't have in their data base filled with terabytes of data. I don't even have FTP access myself so I would have to watch RUclips videos that come from trustworthy RUclipsrs based on their past of uploading content that goes along with reality. Betawiki.net is also a useful source for learning about each Windows build too and seems pretty reliable.

    Windows 95 was the operating system from Microsoft which succeeded the Windows 3.1 operating system. It was considered a complete operating system, as it was not a graphical interface running on MS-DOS, and it also performed without any need of the MS-DOS environment after the boot process.

    Microsoft released Windows 1.0 on November 20, 1985, as the first version of the Microsoft Windows line. It runs as a graphical, 16-bit multi-tasking shell on top of an existing MS-DOS installation, providing an environment which can run graphical programs designed for Windows, as well as existing MS-DOS software.

    Thanks for making this. Especially if you only have 3 hours a day. By the way, do you know where the hell I can get 98 Build 1624? I tried pulling it from the crazy bytes 21 CD 2 by extracting .avd file A0024.avd but certain files appear to get errors extracting with 7zip.

    • @Sonicrush007
      @Sonicrush007  4 года назад +2

      I don't even have access to build 1624. I had to rely on trustworthy sources on this one and some others such as watching RUclips videos of people installing it in VMs or physical machines and other reputable sources that provide a description of each build.
      The reason why I do not have access to this and some others is because a lot of these builds are exclusive to BetaArchive because they purposely monopolize access to a lot of builds to "prevent it from getting into the wrong hands" to the point that they will freak out if another website dares to host it. The only way to get access to these builds (and that one of course) is either get FTP access to BetaArchive (people tell you that it is easy to get access, but it sure as heck isn't if you don't hoard old software around your house. You need to have original software that they do not have on their 100 TB server that is filled with Windows builds and other software) or wait for the-eye.eu to bring their BetaArchive server back up which requires no FTP access, but has been down for months. So sorry to tell you this, if you are not a software hoarder or you are very lucky and found software online that no one uploaded to their server, you'll never get access to that build. It's really frustrating.
      TL;DR: You will never get that build because BetaArchive tries to monopolize Windows builds and they require you to gain FTP access to even access them which is more difficult than many say. I'm unaware of any websites that even host that build.
      If you plan on trying to get FTP access to BetaArchive, good luck (seriously).

    • @sammiches6859
      @sammiches6859 4 года назад +1

      @@Sonicrush007 Yeah I'm not interested in access to their data hoard. There's almost always someone who has access you can typically get a file or two when you really try. I just like unique stuff that doesn't cost a lot of bytes. Most of the stuff I need is already on archive.org. However, I know you can rip it off or out of this CD. I can already see 99% of the files for this build correctly. Even if I have to install it on a Gateway GP7 and clone the files and then make an iso, I will get it just to spite those greedy fucks. Then I'll upload it to archive.org and no one will have to sift through the crazy bytes CDs anymore.

    • @Sonicrush007
      @Sonicrush007  4 года назад +2

      Late reply, but if you know of any sources that host builds, please let me know. I could really use them for more knowledge so I can complete my "All Windows Startup and Shutdown Sounds" video and to show off the builds.
      Beta Archive is indeed greedy. They claim that they are trying to monopolize the builds so "they can keep them from getting in the wrong hands". This is obviously not true because all they really do is prevent people who aren't software hoarders from getting access to the FTP server, not "bad people". I think this is just so they can earn donations. This obviously does not help preserve software, it's an incredibly inefficient way of doing that. I hope someone out there gets all of the builds, uploads it, and watch Beta Archive be punished for preventing data from getting in to the public easily. This data is not government level information or incredibly sensitive information, so there is no reason to not allow it to be shared.

      @@Sonicrush007 FTP Access member here:
      It's not like they're able to control what you do with anything you download from their FTP since they don't own any of it and don't claim to, so do whatever you want...unless you're one of those that holds on to the downloads out of respect for the archive BA built up and stuff. While I can understand some of the frustration with a big chunk of the FTP archive being made public (The-Eye being a great example), might as well just accept the fact that some people would rather see rarities and stuff get out there, me included. To add to that, I personally don't think the efforts of BA and it's members are being minimized, as we wouldn't have a lot of things if it weren't for BA.
      I still support the access requirements because, as far as I'm concerned, they're fair and that finding/preparing something original is really not THAT hard, granted you have or know anyone who has a scanner. It still takes a bit more effort (ask for help if needed) but it's been proven to help the archive grow tremendously since it's inclusion compared to what it used to be like, couple that with various members that still dedicate themselves to scoping out/looking for/obtaining stuff (whether rare or common) through various means. Plus once you get access it's a place that you can rely on when it comes to quality/verified downloads and stuff. In the mean time, you got Internet-Archive, The-Eye, or someone you know that doesn't mind downloading something off the FTP for you.
      Note: While the FTP is filled with software and Windows stuff, there's still so much freaking software out there that the chance of finding something not there is still rather high.
      In conclusion, while I may not fully agree with BA overall, much more good has been done than bad. I also encourage you to at least try at some point.

      I already put all of the builds I could get up there. For Memphis Beta 1 - Beta 2 for an example, I did not type specific builds because those sounds applied to all beta 1 and beta 2 builds. I looked through betawiki to see if I got every build. I purposely left out some builds for OSes due to a lack of information from even betawiki about sound changes. I could not find one source that would mention a sound change so I left them out. Windows 10 build 1607 builds I decided to wait on because there isn't yet much details about many known builds because a great majority of them have not been leaked yet. I also left out builds after Windows 10 version 1607 because there were no changes in sounds or UI that would justify adding them. I left out the boot screens on purpose on Windows 10 and Server 2016 builds because there was absolutely no change at all.
