I live in st Pete and this is my pizza spot. He said he felt like they gave him their best work because they recognized him, every cheese pizza I get from Tobys looks like that every time, they’re always perfect!
Just be careful ordering extra cheese, they take it as a challenge and give you an absurd amount of extra cheese. Also price of that pizza is less than $20, like $18.50.. best in pinellas
Astra was always better imo
Nah. Cristino’s is the best in Pinellas county. But Toby’s is ok.
Giannis near Tyrone is close
I’m in St Pete as well….I’m sure I’ve seen you there before
@@1PlacidPig on 16th? Meh
I thought a fuckin train was going by in the background and it's a lady with the loudest shopping cart in history
Hahahahah.. 💯
🤣😂I didn't notice , I had to rewatch after i saw this comment
I did as well thought the sign up above had a subway loop playing.; and cankles enters the picture.
didnt even notice the noise. must be a new york thing
clickity clack. I could hear that coming miles away.
The buddy in the beginning trying to indirectly ask Dave to go out to a bar so he can hang out with him was hilarious.
He shot his shot
Terrible that he asked “did we start at the top?” Totally made him low ball the score knowing he will probably have better and doesn’t want to go too high with the scores while in Fla
100% my thoughts after he asked that. This could have been an 8+
Totally caught that as well, that pizza looked way better than a 7.7..
He was headed to a 8.1 but pulled back.
He was absolutely going in the 8’s. Had to reel it back, sucks for the owner…could have changed his life for the better but ego got in the way.
I live here and have had their pies many times. It's not an 8
In my head i said hes debating a 7.7-7.8 but he's going 7.7. Literally exactly what he said. I need to get a life.
EXACTLY!
Same lol
I was thinking the exact same except I thought he was going 7.8 after taking those 2-3 extra bites... I also need to get a life
this is life buddy, the sooner u accept it, the happier you´ll be
me too, lol
My man said "I like it tighter, cleaner" lol Same Dave, same.
shut up
If your not from florida, you wont understand his system for florida. Nothing is in the 8’s here. High 7’s is like a 9.0-9.2 in florida. Its great to hear there is something decent here
With that said this deserved at least a 7.9
I like how he gives a 7.7 but talks about like it’s a 8.7
7.7 still isn’t a bad score! When you start getting below 7, that’s when it becomes your more basic, average pizza.
Its like an 8.7 for what we got in this area.
You blew the video, thanks
It’s cause the owner was right next to him
@@berict Simply don't read the comments before you watch the short video. Thanks.
"this might sound egotistical"....that ship has sailed! Love you Dave.
If Austin told him it was the top rated, he would’ve given it an 8.1
I'm glad you said that, because I thought he was talking about where in their journey they were exactly lol. I don't think he should be asking what other people think.
Huge flop. Can't be an 8
Im 42 and I have been eating pizza from this spot since I was a teenager. Luv the score.
Best in St Pete
me too i live in largo well worth drive the garlic knots are insane love tobys
I'm 32 and have been eating from this joint since I was born. This place represents home for me. Love the pizza there! Always amazing pizza.
One slice, everyone knows the rules
Yes, rule 1. We don't talk about the slice. Rule 2. There is no slice. Rule 3. Don't be too floppy
@@AlternateRealityTV123🐰👈🏼 His ears are floppy 🐇
Everybody* rookie
I've been going to Little Italy since I was a kid. Still my go to.
guys like.."y0 you wana smoke a blunt dave"
Yo you wanna get robbed Dave more like it
If the oven was 50 years older and the owner had been covered in flour it’d have been 8+
fr
thats where the flavour comes from dont u know fam
As someone who can make 100 flatbreads an hour, you're absolutely right.
The oven IS over 50 years old. They opened it in 1972. I've been there about 6,000 times and know the owner and his family. Great place.
No strip mall pie is getting in the 8's, everybody knows the rules.
2 more minutes in the oven and dab that center, you got an 8.1
Damn I thought he was going 7.9 minimum after all that
He definitely lowballed them
That was my final guess too
I thought an 8.2 from the reaction
@@arf10 I called it at 8.1 myself! 👍
Inconsistency is key, everyone knows the rules 😤
Looks like an 8.1 from over here in CT
didn't hear the crisp I thought 7.6 but he gonna bump it up a lil bc its not in NY Tri-state area
there was a definite crisp bite later on
Bro! from where your at that looks like a 6.8 🤣
@@LeadMunitions"you're" means, "you are."
Not "your."
Stop being stupid.
Virgulto, my HS algerbra teacher
After watching you do reviews for 6 years,I must say that from the looks of that pizza, and your reaction to it,that was a 7.9 pizza.
Literally just had 3 slices today had no idea Dave reviewed it super good!
Dave’s been to big Italy! Everybody knows the rules!
“Scuzy!”
"Ciao!"

Excusie !!!
Anyone in the UK enjoying that these are now released at 10pm here instead of 11pm because of Spring forward times in the US?
I watch them when I get into bed about 11:30pm so I didn’t notice haha
I watch them in the morning and then think about pizza all day
How do yous in the UK rate your pizza compared to US?
@@marekkowalsky463 Most of our pizza is thin-crust Italian style, but we barely ever see the undercarriage and crunch that Dave gets so often. Tons of cheese too. I dream of trying Sicilian, Chicago deep pan style or just a tomato pie. Our pizza is generally more like take-away "late night" pizza that Dave would never push to a 7. The scores would be seriously low here. Not many local independent places here. It's all about burgers. Bit over the top, greasy, double patty, all the extras burgers, ha.
@@marekkowalsky463 Dave gave Crisp Pizza an 8.1 and it is by far the best pizza I've had in the UK. Lots of 6.8-7.3 neopolitan
One bite, a guy has a spot to chill. Everybody knows Dave has no chill.
Lol Lady with the noisy cart recreating the Ny subway atmosphere haha
The pizza was an 8.2
The shopping cart was a 2.8
Thanks Dave for keepin it real
I've been going to Little Italy since u was a kid. It's literally one of the best pizza places in Florida.
I’ve been going since 1984. Number 14 and a slice please. He definitely talked it up like a 8.8 as opposed to his 7.7. The staff and owner do an excellent job and they’re always slammed, yet quick. Delish!!!😊
As a st.pete local and doordash driver I pick up from Toby's all the time always smells great and they are always busy
Should've tried the garlic knots at Little Italy
They are the best I've ever eaten!!
My home town spot.
"that bolds well"
He is a master of the language. A savant.
Bode. That bodes well. Not bolds. WTF?
Dyslexic Dave strikes again
@@kerbygatornot sure who you’re mad at, but Dave definitely said “bolds”
@@Win7ermu7ethey're trying to make him an escape goat
My mother in law moved down from Jersey about 3 years ago and she says hands down Toby's little Italy is the most authentic New Jersey style pizza she's had and its not even close.
That place has good sandwiches.
Little Italy is my favorite pizza place. I’ve been going since 1982. I no longer live there and I miss it. Best pizza I’ve ever had. I love it!
The only pizza I've had where I could only eat one slice was a pepperoni deluxe from Sicily's in Anchorage. You could see through the box.😂
One bite. Everybody knows Dave is looking for a coke spot
I thought he was more of a Pepsi guy?
Don't have to look too far in St Pete
@@dabnessofp the emerald
Always nice when you correctly guess the score Dave gives
Check out Benny's Bada Bing in Venice Florida they are from Brooklyn and their pizza is pretty damn good.
Dave gives pizza he says is really, really good/great a 7.7 and then a pizza he say is meh/mediocre a 7.4. Dave your scoring system is ridiculous.
Cuz it’s arbitrary. he don’t know wtf he scoring he just throwing numbers around
NY Style Pizza & Plain cheese w/o all the junk is #1 in my book. But where to find in North Florida? I HAVE 2 for you, While in Florida, WHY NOT try New York Pizza. 1811 Golden Eagle Way Suite 25, Fleming Island, Florida 32003, just of Route 17, South of Jacksonville and a short drive East to St. Augustine for PIZZA TIME PIZZA. Both make me feel like I'm back in NY eating the Pizza Pie with the unique and only taste!!!! Go for it Bar Stool Dave!!! Next time I'm in St. Petersburg I know where to go. THANKS!
Pizza box on central Ave. It's neopolitan style but I like it.
It was a 7.8 - 7.9 but he had to leave room for higher scores since it was the start of the road trip.
Tampa and St Pete now have a to go to 🍕🍕 place 7.7 Rocks
There will be some notably higher reviews in the coming days... trust me
santoros in tampa got a 7.8
@FonyTergusonOG You have to tell me what local spots in Clearwater got above a 7.7............... Do you know what his rating of Nona's slicehouse was? C'mon you gotta tell me which spots and what ratings he gave.
@FonyTergusonOG Also your name is hilarious
If you like this, Country Pizza inn around the pinellas side is up there or better to me. If you do go ask for pie cut as they do squares. We grew up on Toby’s then went CPI.
Well, now I have to try it out. It's near the comic store I go to. I usually hit up Madison Ave Pizza, which Dave tried them out too. Waiting for that one.
It's better than Madison
I would like to see A review of the cafe pizza at Sam's Club and Cosco .
He did Cosco I think it was like 3.2 .
How many slices of pizza do you think dave has eaten over his lifetime so far???
Im guessing about 47,085 slices..🍕🍕
Felt like a low 8 was coming on. I’m surprised by the 7.7
Grew up eating at Little Italy. It's an 8.2 for me but I have emotional connections.
Way to go Dave. Keep up the good work 😃 🍕🍕🍕
Thx for the likes ❤️🔥🌃
Toby's one of the best in the county. I drive hour for it. Sam and Eddie's is another good one. There was a few good places 5 minutes away from me but after COVID and inflation and its really not even that. Most new pizza places in Florida start out using the best cheese and after customers get hooked they start using the cheap crap. Then they think people are stupid and won't notice the change and they wonder what happened and why they had to close down. I know a lot of places that went from a full house and buzy to hardly nobody in the joint eating. Hey just charge a little more for the good stuff.
Yo this is my spot! So wild I randomly found this in my feed.
Dave needs to go on a Burlington County Pizza tour in New Jersey:
Rino's Pizza (Burlington)
Riccardo's (Beverly)
Vinny's Pizza (Delanco)
Pizza Amore (Delran)
Villa Rosa (Burlington)
Sals (Mt Holly)
La Vitas (Mt. Holly)
Angelo's Pizza (Riverside)
Man the list goes on...
SOUTH JERSEY is the best for pizza not the shore not Trenton!
Been going here since little league and it’s been busy for 20 plus years. I can’t even get a seat in this place right now since he’s reviewed it!!!
That's definitely the downside
Grandfathers last meal was from here. Favorite spot of mine.
This Mfer interview with Nick is the kinda shit that's needed. No bs straight to the point.
nice - glad to know there's a decent ny slice if/when i move down there
Scores don't matter it's the fact he is bringing light to pizza joints around the USA. So you k kw what to expect when going and a subjective score.
Hey Dave, Do hungry Howie's 😂
This is my go-to place in the area now that I live down here. This is more like an 8.3 but Dave's assistant foolishly said it was "middle of the road" which is actually kinda true based on the moronic ratings. The problem is people from Florida will say this overcooked because the crust is done right and it's crispy. His comments were right about it being straight out of New York and being the best pizza in the area. A really good place. Not as great as it was 10-15 years ago when the other Spinelli brother was running it but great.
I'm in the area once a week and I eat there, amazing slices
as someone named toby im proud of this score
8.2 was my thoughts. Low balled them! 😂
Toby's is awesome, excellent pizza,Dave needs to try Sardos in Largo, authentic Brooklyn pizza, the best around town
This is my go to pizza spot in St Pete they are so consistent! And glad Dave gave it a solid score! 🍕
In St Pete and this place is always busy... pizza is definitely good, and they have a great meatball sub too! 👍
The pizza looks amazing, Holiday, fl
I have had their pizza several times amd went today because you did a review. Gonna to compare how yours looked to our lunch today.
I ordered pepperoni for a pick up. It was undercooked but also delicious. Pepperoni has a nice spiceyness.
Gonna hit some of the other local spots you also review.
I was saying 7.6 or 7.8. 😅
He wanted to say higher but got in his head when he said that it wasn't gonna be the best pizza they'll get on this trip.
Peppi’s Pizzeria in Naples, FL you won’t regret it they need all the love they deserve
Cool. Dave in Tampa/St. Pete. Let's Go Rays! #RaysUp☀
St Pete Tampa is magical,,,I lived all over the country
Since you are in that area, it would be cool if you hit up De Losa’s pizza in St. John’s pass. Cool place to hang out right on a boardwalk.
Needed to cook another 3:15 when they saw who it was for. I mean come on burn the F'r
Go to Rico's in Gulf Gate Sarasota. Hole in the wall but damn good pizza!
St Pete has a pretty large sized Italian population, so doesn't surprise me that you found a few decent places here
Does he critique pies harder when the owner/manager is watching? "Pick Me Please," and Dave is like "real review time."
The best I have tasted in ST Pete is JP Tavern on Park Street, best. I grew up in the Bronx and their pizza is a clone, but better. Next time you are down, please try it. Good staff and menu.
Prez gives mad props to America’s favorite President! 🇺🇸 🥊
Best pizza ever! I judge all pizza by Little Italy pizza. Definitely better than a 7.7. Try the Little Italy Special.
I was thinking 7.7 7.8. I watch too many of Daves reviews. Lol
I've had the pizza from there when I was down visiting a friend, and it's definitely legit.
Straight from the look of it I was thinking 8.2 but then it flopped a little and I didn't hear a crisp. Fair score.
Defo thought it would be a smudge higher.
looks good wish it was closer to me
If your in St. Petersburg you have to go to Gianni’s NY Pizza for sure! I’ll meet you there and pay for the pizza! Let’s go! Also you aren’t in St. Pete just yet!! You gotta make your way to Pasadena and get near the beaches!
I don’t what that guys talking about but little Italy is one of the best pizza shops in this area
I've been eating there for years. Always a great pizza.
Peaches, Dave and Cheezy Pizza Pac-Man are the stars.
St Pete is actually a really good city like everywhere else it has its gear areas and mid areas
Foxon Park ginger ale is my favorite soda to have with New Haven pizza. It’s the best of the best
I was thinking 7.7 until he said it was better than anything else, and it wasn't even close.
How are you not 8.1 after a comment like that? Hasn't everything in the area been low to mid 7s? So how is 7.7 blowing those out of the water?
Looks like a NYC Pie... But where you reviewed this ok. But I can tell spot on by the crust alone looks RAW.
THE GHOST OF DEBBIE IN THE BACKGROUND !!
As much as I value someone rating pizzas Dave's score all have an * next to them.
Only Italians can truly score each other's pizza.
One more minute of cooking to create a little char and that very good pizza becomes a destination pizza.
guys business just increased Big time !
That generally “bolds well” for pizza. Everyone knows prez had no idea that it’s “bodes well”
