    Terrific video ….. as a current LEO in the states, I also teach combatives, and you bring up two essential points. One, you have to get pissed to hell and fight for all you got when attacked with a knife. Second, as soon as one of the attacker’s hands disappears behind his back or underneath his shirt, it’s game on! If you wait until you see the blade, you’re too late!
    Keep up the great teaching, brother!

      @@schoolofselfprotection I was thinking he might have been your Dad. I remember you talking in one of your interviews that your Dad was a martial arts or combative instructor of some kind and got you interested in it at a young age and you knew it was something you also wanted to do as a profession. So yea, I was thinking Lee might have been your Dad. You guys both share the same level of quick, precise, simple, and very effective pre-emptive strikes and counter strikes that are easy to be programed and instinctively memorized in high stress, violent situations when your adrenaline dump kicks in and diminishes all cognitive abilities. Love watching both of your guy's demonstrations and hearing all the different possible scenarios and how to mentally overcome the fear and counter the threat with lethal tactics and confidence

    I agree with that kind of principle in dealing with a knife. There is no guarantee you can do that without getting cut but at least it minimizes the damage. This is more realistic than the other contents in RUclips because there is resistance.

    What style do you recommend for a knife vrs knife situation ? Personally from doing marker pen drills I've found the best results switching to southpaw and fencing with it.
    Staying behind the knife and working it long guard like I do my jab. I stab at the arms to neutralise there wepon rather than risk passing it for a body shot . Only time I don't is if I can question mark punch it into the neck. Thoughts ?🤷

  • @t3rcx
    @t3rcx Год назад

    Nono, first you grab the wrist, then you spin around 3 times like a ballerina, then you apply this very precise joint lock so that the knife falls right into your hands, and then you flick his arm and ask him to fall down for you (he has to do a flip though). Make sure to hand the knife back at the end too.
    ...what? I learned it from a 17th degree black belt who studied in the mountains of Mongolia for 3 weeks, it has to be legit.

    At that point I believe you should be 100% justified in using lethal force. A blade doesn't really need aiming, it just is. Even if you stun the perp, their blade can still be swinging and can do damage. As a CCL holder I believe I would be justified in drawing as soon as I can clear my weapon and put a shot on center of mass. Or I grab my own knife and go to town. As a new father I am taking 0 risks with these killers on the street today.
