i think that what makes Jason the most beloved killer is that he never runs, he never talks and never takes anything too fast, he just walks, stalks and teleports around the placing building suspence to then kill them in some clever way, also the fact that he Cannot die, making him even more terrifying. i think that the fact that he does not talk or even makes a soun makes him more terrifying, you can stab him, beat him shoot him, he wont care, he will just get back up like nothing happened without making a sound, which is why (imo) Jason is the most beloved killer...i mean imagine if jason would go Argh or something every time he is stabbed or shot, the actor would get a sore throat right quick, and if he talked they would either make him sound too normal, or too Stupid, like a demonic voice or something like that, it would just have been weeeeird.
He does run in parts 2-4.. or 2-3 at least... he bursts into the Jarvis house front door in high speed in pt 4... and he, or rather the person he is currently possessing, breaks character completely and talks at one point in JGTH. But I agree with your point in general, absoltely...

Usually he's too focused on fighting whatever kaiju is serving as his punching bag for that movie to really rack up a high body count. Also consider that most people don't stay in the buildings once he makes shore so there's probably minimal body count when he actually destroys one. Also, that study was done in 2005. Both Legendary's reboot and Shin Godzilla were a loooooong ways off at that point. I would imagine Shin Godzilla would add to that body count significantly.

Jason kinda appeared in an early 1990s Robotman (by Jim Merrick) Sunday Strip - Robotman on the sofa watching a horror movie and Jason appears behind him, sits beside him and proceeds to say to the tv "no, don't go in the cellar" to Robotman's obvious surprise - or something like that. I've been wanting to get a copy of this strip for 20yrs now, but no luck... yet!!
Freddy vs Jason vs Ash was written as a sequel to Freddy vs Jason, and was written in late 2003. Sam Raimi (Evil Dead writer/director) decided to not let New Line use Ash in the planned sequel.
