Paul Lowrie I agree 100%. I put off watching it for so long, then when I saw it I was pissed at myself for not seeing it in the theater. For such a simple story, it's told really well. Keanu Reeves really put in some work to make this almost mythical hitman feel real. Between John Wick and Deadpool, hopefully Hollywood realizes that you don't always need some convoluted plot, plot twists and gimmicks, just a simple story told exceptionally well will do. Also, if you haven't already, watch The Raid 1 and 2, both movies have some of the best action ever put to film and again are simple plots done amazingly.

The Ridiculous 6 and The Do Over weren't terrible. They're not anywhere near as good as Longest Yard or Happy Gilmore BUT they're at least not anywhere as bad as Jack & Jill or Pixels.

+Matt Way I was gonna post something similar to this. Yes, Ridiculous 6 and The Do Over are no where near as great Happy Gilmore or Billy Madison, but they are not as awful as people think they are. I haven't seen Jack & Jill, I feel blessed in those regards, and Pixels was ok(it could have been great, the premise was better than the outcome however).
Adam Sandlers Netflix deal is actually going quite well. I think anyone who says they are "shit movies" haven't seen them or they are far to harsh in their "abilities" as a film critic.

Depends on what it seeks to be. If it's a documentary then I'd be fine with it because there was a lot behind Tetris back in the day. Back when G4-Tech TV was a thing I loved their documentary show and Tetris was an awesome watch. That said, if it's actually a movie based within the video game I have no hope for it.
I'm pretty fucking sure that if someone held a shotgun to your head and told you to watch a movie or you'd die... you'd watch the fucking movie.

it's not that John Wick is bad, it's mediocre. I watch over 100 action movies every year, I love them and the genre. Everything this movie did, I've seen better somewhere else. I have no ill wishes about the movie. People talk about it like it's one of the best action movies ever made though, and it's not. Movie's like Arena, Falcon Rising, Blood and Bone, Skin Trade, Forced to Fight, The Perfect Weapon, 6 Bullets, Tactical Force, Lone Hero, and just about anything with Scott Atkins are so much better.
So you like 80s style action which pretty much all the movies you just listed are like. Nothing wrong with that but its like a fan of slasher horror movies saying eastern horror movies are mediocre.
The reason people enjoyed John Wick was its tactical style action which makes it seem more plausible.

Realistically, this needs to be said.. a good half of this list are children's movies. Fully functioning members of society should not be concerned with children's movies. They're ridiculous because they're for kids.

and that kind of thinking is why there's so many bad kids movies, because that leads to noone putting any fucking effort into anything. Disney, Pixar, Dreamworks (most of the time) and several others are examples of studios putting fucking effort into animation.
At the end of the day they're movies for CHILDREN. Kids don't give a shit about production quality. They're kids. If you're watching kids movies and critiquing them, you need a babysitter so you can at least attempt to enjoy life as an adult.

At 12 years old, I was seeing Jurassic Park in theatres and watching Friday the 13th while my parents were sleeping. If at that age I watched A Goofy Movie, I would think it sucked. However, if I'm like 5 years old, I'm sure I would love it.
The Hunchback, by the way, came out in 96 whereas The Hunchback 2 came out in 2002. If you were 11 or 12 in 2002, that would mean you were about 5 or 6 when the original came out. Meaning you were a CHILD at the time as opposed to a TEENAGER when the second movie was released. You're kind of proving my point here, bud.

The first transformers was great! seeing that chopper turn into a robot had the entire theater in shock and aw. Transformers 4 however had me and my family wanting to kill ourselves after 45 minutes.
Because the first transformers came out 10 years ago, and while you may have missed it cgi keeps getting better and better every year, the cgi in the first transformers was the first of it's kind, now it's stale and borings.
Must admit, I also really enjoyed the first transformers movie. I know it wasn't perfect but I was very entertained by it. Also completely agree about the movies afterwards. I am one of those people that will watch absolute shite movies from start to finish. Usually the badness of the film is kind of funny.
But I actually felt like I was going to have a panic attack if I tried to continue watching Transformers 3 :) - I just felt like... I have to get out of here, I cannot sit here and watch this. Someone please set me free!!! Just so terrible and a mess of CGI. In the words of an infamous man.... SAD!

The DemonDinosaur the thing that pushed many over the edge was having Shockwave go out like a bitch. Yes he was shot up by both the military and autobots, and still managed to stay standing after having half of his side ripped off, so he technically didn't go out like a bitch (unlike barricade who came back to just get his eyes shot out and his legs blown off), but everyone wanted to see him taking on multiple autobots like they were just a small annoyance, but no, we got Shockwave getting shot up and killed by Optimus with him only firing a single shot at Optimus. Personally, I think people would have liked the movie more if they swapped out Sentinel during his fight against the autobots and put shockwave in instead (the scene were Sentinel is just tanking like 3-4 autobots (plus humans) and isn't getting hit at all, that should have been shockwave)

One of the reasons the Lego Movie worked was because it's about toys. Kids can relate to that. Anybody could relate to that. We can relate to themes about creativity and childhood. There was a point in the movie where it stopped being a cash grab and told a real and genuine story that we care about. How in God's holy name are you going to make us care about those stupid unnecessary faces on your phone?

The MLP movie was really good. It exceeded my expectations and I was on the verge of tears during Tempest’s song. Don’t judge a movie by how much you deny you like the show it’s tied in to.
