Nice….I somehow stumbled my way into the foundational start for my wardrobe. Have dark jeans, khaki pants, multiple shades of blue, grey, and green shirts (all muted colors, nothing primary in color), chelsea and chukka black, grey, and brown boots, a black leather and peacoat, then black and multiple grey color flatcaps. Ive always told my wife that I just wanted a wardrobe that looks clean and classic, but I should be able to go in the closet in the dark and grab items and they will all go together. Glad to hear that I havent taken a hard left turn. Muted, simple, and clean colors do not have to be monochromatic.

6 years ago, I ditched the printed t-shirts and bootcut (ripped) jeans. Now, I just rock:
1/ for casual wear: a henley or t-shirt, a pair of jeans, All Stars or Superstars, and a simple black jacket - rain repellent, puffer or leather, depending on the weather
2/ for business wear: a polo or shirt, a pair of jeans or chinos, desert or Chelsea boots, and a pea coat. I can also wear boots and the pea coat with a casual outfit.
In both cases: no pattern (never was a big fan), desaturated colors, A LOT of charcoal items. And I always add some contrast between the top and the bottom item. All this works pretty well - in the morning, I don't spend time figuring out what goes together anymore...
I'm probably not the best dressed man in the room, but I'm certainly not the worse anymore :) I wished I could have watched such a video like 15 years ago!
    Well done Brock, cheers.

Do you, bro. As long as you’re comfortable with it and you think it looks good, wear it. I accessorize a lot as well, at the moment I’m wearing three rings, one on my left ring finger, one on my left index finger, and one on my right middle finger, a watch, two rubber band bracelets, a silver chain, a beaded chain, a long belt, earrings and my glasses. They’re mostly all very small so you don’t even notice unless you really look, but it still brings some interest and dynamics to the fit. As long as you are confident you’ll look good.

I’ve always had a problem with tshirts. They’re either too tight in the chest and perfect everywhere else or they fit my chest and the arms flare out. It’s caused me to avoid tshirts and Ive always just stuck to button-downs. It sucks because my job makes cool tshirts for us like once a month or more and the small is too small after the first wash and the medium is too big so I can never wear them to work like everyone else. I finally found a random T-shirt at Goodwill that worked for me a month or so ago though. It was an Urban Pipeline Awesomely Soft Tee, which is like a dirt cheap young adult brand from Kohl’s. The price is definitely a plus, but there are only so many colors I can buy (and I literally bought them all after I found out where to get them). It really just feels like a bandaid though. I’d like to figure out what I can do to make more shirts fit me off the rack. I don’t have man boobs. I’m not fat at all. I just have a muscular chest so it sticks out a little bit. I’m 160 and 6’0. Has anyone here had a similar problem and found a solution to it?

As a short guy that needs pants tailored, it's the most difficult one out of that list. It's so hard to find a good tailor while on a budget.

I'm 5'2" and I find it's a great investment to tailor my clothes. Just start with a few pieces and tailor them rather than spending money on alot of clothes.

I think the hair looks nice! I have trouble with jackets because I have narrow shoulders and thicker hips. I think tailoring could fix this problem but I have no idea if that's affordable or how to start.
