Datasat isn't the parent company of DTS. Datasat is DTS' old cinema division. In 2008, DTS divested themselves of their cinema division, forming the separate company DTS Digital Cinema. In 2009, it was purchased and renamed Datasat. DTS' parent is Xperi (a tech holding company).
I was shocked by this one as it did well and I thought for sure it would be like those other amps that straight up lied to us! Now only if they would have faith in themselves and come up with their own name, lol.
No kidding. They could even up the quality of some of the "cheap" items mentioned...charge $75 and it would still fly off the shelf. Shame about the naming thing though...
What a silly move for them to copyright infring datasat. They could have developed their own brand and word of mouth at that price and performance would have made them fairly popular, especially among the financially strapped.
One must remember that companies that steal intellectual property and/or falsely market their products under another company’s brand name are looking to make as much money as quickly as possible, not the longevity of their business. They price their products very cheap to make a profit by selling a lot of units quickly before they are shut down. Then they start over again using a different name. Since they have stolen the intellectual property of another company, they do not have the expense of research and design. It is very common for Chinese companies who have been commissioned to build a product for a brand to make more of the product than the original brand ordered and then sell the exact same product at a lower cost undercutting the original brand.
Given that its China, the whole thing is a ripoff from top to bottom. Its likely some company linked to the CCP wholesale stole the designs from a legitimate budget company that was manufacturing there, and decided to roll some knock-offs with the blatant logo thievery to put the cherry on top. Easy to make stuff for cheap when all you have to do is just bring a thumb drive to someone else's business. No R&D costs or anything like that. Edit: Basically a TL;DR of what he said ☝Still, its one reason I would like Dereck to show discretion in reviewing these types of amps and ensure they are at least a real company first. Giving some bootleg company good publicity just reinforces their profits and keeps the scam going.
China is where they are today because they steal. Almost all electronic components are manufactured in China . This is all supported by their government. If you design a product in some other country then send it to China for manufacturing, guaranteed, your design has been compromised/stolen. Countries should send their manufacturing to other places . Yes it may be more expensive but weighing against the alternatives of what this communist has done and what it now has the capability to do military wise , we should stop now. It might already be too late .
Hey Big D just and idea. Have you ever thought about dynoing two of the exact same amps? I know I'm curious to see how far they are different in power. I know I've bought two of the same amps and birth sheets be couple hundred watts different. (Kicker and fosgate in my experience). Just an idea something different

It’s the same irs2092 iraudamp circuit used in many name brand amplifiers out. Great little amp, the ps fets and output fets are cheap and available. The irs2092 is unavailable right now for the average joe, but should hit the market again soon. Great amp that you could keep going for a long time with low repair costs when needed.
It's probably the exact same as the diamond Amp. Basically the way these Chinese manufacturers work is the factory that makes the diamond Amp from 9-5, at 5:00 the diamond brand light shuts off, but that factory keeps running 24hrs a day. So the amps they produce outside of the diamond brand hours, they just slap their own brand name on and sell it themselves at a reduced price bc you're going around the middle man... you can really find great quality products at hugely reduced prices if you know just what to look for...
Don't know how long you have been doing this. During the late 1970's up to about 1990, a friend of mine ran a car stereo shop (still does). During that time, he built several crank it up cars. We had a design we were going to put in an abandoned Rambler station wagon, but the shopping center had it towed off before we could do it. The design was based on the speaker that a company called LTV built in the 1940's to test the microphone used to record an early nuclear explosion. One of the cars he built was for a customer with a 1970's Chevy Monte-Carlo with the long doors. The owner decided to go all in and cut the guts out of the doors and put 2 15's in each door. 4-18's went where the back seat used to be. Since there was a little space left at the top, they through in some 10 inch Gauss for the mid-bass. In the truck were 6 Harmon Kardon CA-260 amps, with all but one bridged mono. A series of 5 inch across the top of the doors and some JBL studio tweets under the dash, rounded out the drivers. This was fed by a high end Nakamichi cassette deck with computer controlled azimuth and a high end ADS for equalization. The day of the contest came and we all drove to Dallas for the event. We get there and the same guy who beat our car the previous year shows up with a 1960 Cadillac Hearse. 7-1500 watt amps and a - no kidding 26 inch Woofer for the low bass. 2-150 amp alternators. Even with that, it still took 14 or so Marine batteries, just to turn the stereo on. Yep lost again, but just barely. The winner got a mini-pickup, but more importantly for the young gentleman, he got a job! A leading amplifier company hired him as an engineer.

The insides look okay. I was expecting crappy caps and used mosfets extracted from ewaste but those seem like brand new mosfets. Although in china they can extract parts from ewaste and make them look like they came out of production line the other day. I bought some used chips from utsource and it was unbelievable how good the cleaned those ic and ic legs
@@johnhornbeak5735 that is protective clothe braid. the two outside legs are your high voltage/high current legs. the middle leg is the "switched" one. If you think of them as relays....the braiding is to protect things from arcing to the heat sink in crazy conditions. probably cheaper than running a piece of plastic the whole length behind the mosfets. the chinese will cut ANY and EVERY possible corner to scrimp a penny. its how they sell these things for 63 bucks. 25% of which is import tax.

Ya the advertising reminds me of poor translation on many, many other Chinese products, not like you could fit a sub in the box lol but bro, for the price. That's not a bad little amp. After seeing the first case of poor translation I tried to catch the next one before Big D pointed it out. Sort of a game. But right when he pointed out that both input & output we're labeled "input" I noticed that under them out was out but input was labeled "front". One would assume the only input could just be called "input". Google translator helped expose another fake 🤥

Datasat is the new owner of the DTS digital film sound patents. The AP25 was one of the last film cinema sound processors produced. Datasat still provides some support for legacy DTS film equipment, including the DTS-6, DTS-6D, DTS-6AD, and layer processors and film timecode readers. They also cover the DTS decoding on home audio equipment.
Stuff like this is insane. Proves audio of decent quality doesn't have to be expensive. Would it work for years? Who knows? At below $70 the gamble seems well worth it. But, alas, it ain't available and for a what is likely the reason you postulated. Why didn't it just get a rebrand is the real mystery?
The z44 power mosfet is arguably the best transistor ever in the car audio amp world. Due to their prevalence in many very good amps, including the early zed amps and countless others. Though there are many newer power transistors with higher performance they are a classic, timeless piece.
I think its one of the reasons why it has poor efficiency and big difference dynamic vs clipping. Those mosfets are pretty old and inefficient. I would change mosfets for something better and probably would see 1000w up to clipping if the transformer isnt saturating ofc.
@@JusstyteN yes, I did state that there were newer parts with higher performance. Efficiency being one of those parameters, I would probably put in some 3205s but years from now the z44 or it's crossover will continue to be used in amplifiers.
Interesting bit of kit there. I have a Velodyne 150W sub that I've been running for about 20 years (not continuously). It's an 8" cone in a ported case with crossover. The box it came in is long gone and I have it right next to a reflecting wall. My question is, is it as nice as I think it is? Yeah, it is fraying a bit on the cover. But it shakes the whole house. It also cost a whole lot less than current Velodyne products.
my boxes got smashed up but the one sounds decent enough, since the glue is holding up. they are cheap 12" passive speakers, so i use it in the house with a 200w car stereo (low power so a broke box isnt audible) . look at the corner of the box and see if you can pull/push the panels together. if the glue isnt holding and its loose youll hear it as the speaker flexes and shakes the box, making a god awful noise. shouldnt hurt the speaker any though. is the amp built into the speaker? might be fun to make a new box for the old active speaker. or find a prebuiltbox and fit the sub and amp into, idk.
bro i took a piece of wood and glued it over a 12" whole. then fitted a 10" sub to said panel in place of the 12" speaker, giving it a bigger enclosure..... it sounded ok, needs a lpf though.
@@1oneguythat I should proof read better. What's gone / going is the cloth on the front. The physical enclosure is fine. The amp is built into the same box as the speaker. It puts out an amazing amount of base for an 8" with no passive driver. Although my room isn't that big, it still resonates a good portion of the house because of modern home construction. When I was in an apartment, it nearly got me evicted. LOL.

I did about 3 hours of digging. This company uses 2 major home audio names DATASAT and PLINIUS. these actual American companies make $20,000 amps and $9k cd players. I have pics of this companies plinius car amps and speakers. Hot chick holding them included 😆 I was told the plinius are not sold in usa probably cause of the name. But the datasat n1 and n4 still are, according to them. there also known as UZK and KMAS But I couldn't find any of these products I can get the n1 and n4 on August 10 I haven't been given prices yet. I'll try to get a n4 to send, I'm hoping they don't jack prices too high on me, I asked price they seem hesitant to give me one But I have the message n1 and n4 are in stock and will b available,
DATASAT sounds like NASA Digital Satelite. I see ads by Walton Luke (owner) every day on Facebook. I love the female models he uses to demonstrate them. But…. The products are just as sketchy as most other brands despite looking nice. Lucky those who got those amplifiers for that price before Amazon banned them.
Thanks for picking up the amp I recommend. I had a great laugh at the box myself. I picked up this while browsing on Amazon looking for cheap amp with big fusing. I figured this out around 600 watts , who knew it would do more. Big D 4 da win.
Looking back at this, I see 2 weaknesses: The power supply MOSFETs and the output choke coil. Replace the 4 Z44n MOSFETs with something a little stronger and your certified/uncertified numbers might get closer to the dynamic results. The output filtering choke looks a bit small for even 600 watts at 1 ohm considering the 30 amps of output current available. I think if I could get one (change the name to "DataSnatch" for all I care), that would be the first upgrades I made. Too bad @barevids couldn't get his hands on this and confirm my theories...
They actually sheathed the leads on those FETs, but then it looked like they used construction paper for the little capes and toothpaste for thermal paste!! THANK YOU DOR SHARING THIS! It’s very educational to see you run those bench tests.
The manufacturer made a bet that a niche company on the opposite end of the price spectrum would not notice its trademark being used. It lost that bet but it’s a gamble that often works for other chinese manufacturers. I would have bought that amp and the 4 channel if it had been as well priced. They also have products under the name plinius, which is like datasat, a actual usa company. a $15k a amplifier for home audio. I'm guessing they thought these companies wouldn't see them in car audio Plinius have like 8 amps Datasat even has a dsp amp! Have every type of speaker too I talked to the company N1 and n4 are still available on usa, I'm ordering 2 on August 10
The good news is that this thing would probably last about a week so maybe it's not so bad that you can't buy it on Amazon. I mean, if you have to be suspicious that the caps are carrying fake labels ... One of the reasons to spend more on known name-brand products is longevity. A $60 amp sounds like a steal until you have to replace it every couple months and the costs soon add up to what you'd have paid for something built better. @@wal You're welcome. I learned my lesson about this by buying cheap subwoofers that last 6 - 8 months. I finally woke up and decided to bite the bullet on a genuine Klipsch subwoofer that has now been in service for three years and is still working as well as the day I hooked it up. It wasn't terribly expensive and in the long run it's a *_lot_* cheaper than buying a pile of cheap gear at half the price. There are about 5 subs up in my attic waiting for the day I can either use some of the parts, repair them or chuck them in the trash. Those subs were all a loss financially, if I'd bought the Klipsch to begin with I'd be richer, happier and less frustrated.
So even at 100% efficiency a '1000W' (RMS) amplifier would require 1000/12 = 85 amps of current from your car battery for full output. Even class D amps are not 100% efficient. These power ratings are x4 for people who know nothing about true amplifier engineering (which I did for 14 years) or about speaker efficiency. A 100W RMS Marshall top and speaker in a car would permanently destroy your hearing quite quickly. This may make your boot ('trunk') lid rattle and annoy pedestrians. Lol.
I'm a musician who uses amplification, as with other musicians I know how very, very loud a 50W amp is. At 100W it's stupidly loud. 1000W and I would want to stand at least 25- 30 metres from the speakers, and do so outdoors. Power ratings of performing musician's gear is based in reality. In contrast, power ratings of general consumer audio gear are in a fantasy land. edit, BTW as far as electrical engineers are concerned "RMS" power doesn't exist. It's a misuse of the concept Root Mean Square (RMS).
If only you could learn how to construct TimeStamps correctly would be an improvement. Learn from Page Layout Editors - Sign-writers and Professional writers of Manuals. . The ONLY valid power rating is RMS. Music power, peak music power, total peak music power is why we see 100 watt amps "USB Powered"... Think about that. 100watts from 5 volts !
What this painfully goes to show is that the 'real' Datasat has one hell of an uplift on their profits if the components are so inexpensive. Reminds me of the $3000 Axe-FX III guitar processor, where the central DSP can be purchased for $50. There's NOTHING custom inside...same with Datasat.

What happens is that some company (for example in China) designs and builds the no-name (!) generic product, and they're happy to slap on whatever made-up brand name you'd like printed on it (provided you order at least 'N' of them, where 'N' is 500 or whatever). Just because you happen to have heard of one made-up brand name before the other, doesn't really matter. If you visit certain Asian cities, you might happen to see the displays of such design & manufacturing companies offering their generic products to be branded however you like. I first saw this in the 1980s in Taipei Taiwan. It's still common practice even now.

Früher hatte ich auch mal eine mittelmäßig leistungsstarke Anlage im Auto - mit Komponenten von Focal, Alpine, Emphaser und einem schönen 18 Zoll Subwoofer von Ground Zero. Big D i love you man but hate those x4 kicker squares, they're made of plastic = more un-natural noise/s the sharp corners from being square causes more noises lol i owned these in a jeep and hated them kicker is not a good brand anymore i know this is opinion but i get bored of my shyte fast so i'm always selling and buying new stuff so i have delt with most brands out there since 1990! I get a laugh out of Sun Down/CT/SKar, kicker is now a Wal-Mart brand to me, best subs hands down for cars keeping a balance of SQ and SPL in mind are JL and the more affordable non sibling lol NVX. I know JL's are made of poly and i really hate that but their sound is amazingly clean and accurate as to where the NVX's are pulp paper my favorite style woofer sound is natural as possible. I don't mind a full sized poly dust cap as long as the cone is paper like the 2008-2010 Fosgate P3's not sure of the year but those were great subwoofers. Not to get in to infinity and Fosgate's aluminum cones which boggles my mind how they sound as awesome as they do just still not paper. But anyway square subs = bad 4 un-natural stress points per sub and source of more wind noise something we want to avoid already from box leaks and port noise just really bad for suvs'. So i've owned couple sets of kickers in the 90's 400 watt rms subs and was happy with them till the 2k the gray plastic ones came out seems like a look they stuck with right up till the solo x's, so trying to upgrade from P3 15's on a punch 1000.1 b/d amd same amp tried the solo x's this is after not liking a pair of L7's my local dealer said this box has been used enough to be broken in and i would love it so they demo'd it in my car. it sounded nothing like bass just air farting we said nothing looked at each other and they went on to greener pastures. The solo x was a factory kicker box ported btw. Make me jealous and make a quad box of NVX gen 2 12's or 15's and TELL me you don't think it's better then them plastic square junks lol PS: Not sure how open air testing on car sub boxes works they're supposed to be in a confined space like the trunk and or cabin of a car, plus the open air of a house or it's garage just cause for more noises then bass reproduction, you can tell that it is loud sure but not so much for sound quality.
30 amps x 12 volts x 2 = 720 watts if the amp was 100% efficient. Even at 15.5v and 100% efficiency that's only 930 watts. So either this isn't going to make specs or it's going to blow fuses constantly. Notice when he does the uncertified test it goes to 136 amps, how do you pull 136 amps through two 30 amp fuses? Something very wrong.
If that is capable of actually working at 1ohm I’d be shocked… I have an amp that will ACTUALLY work at 1000w a channel at 2ohm. (And work well) And its a few thousand dollars lol
I'm not a fan of window-shaking base. I prefer treble in the upper ranges of human hearing at 130-140 decibels. When my gangsta neighbors start shaking the walls, I make their ears bleed.

it's strange. it actually appears to be a very high quality product both externally and internally. They are not using the cheapest pcb (it would be generic green, not red) and who the hell puts sleeves on the diode packs and transistors legs? I really don't know what's going on with this product it's priced like cheap junk but actually seems pretty good. Although that being said one of the capacitors is already leaking 11:45 you can see a cap with leaking electrolyte in middle of screen. I wonder if this was some sort of partnership or something between a small manufacturer and datasat but for whatever reason datasat pulled out but the manufacturer went ahead and started selling them anyway.
These types of companies in China buy the product they are trying to copy, study how it is made and mass produce their own with cheap parts. These companies some times put the original companies out of business. This is the main reason I do not like buying products made in China unless it is clearly there own design.
The "companies just copy other people's designs and use them as their own" is called the "global economy" which is why an American company may be able to legally claim it was "Made by America" because an American client commissioned the production.
Why even pick such a high end brand? I have never heard of them and you had to get online to do some digging to find out if they made. They should have just named it the bump master or anything other then a brand that sells 20k + equipment.
Looks nice which is a change for the ultra budget amps.But at that price driving notoriously innefficient Solobarics that well is a win in anyone's eyes.
Bought 2 one for daughter and one just because. Hooked up daughters at 1 ohm and after 3 minutes or so higher volume blew fuse twice so switched out with the just because one i had and it did the same so doesn't look like it like 1ohm. Sounded good while it played.

What a silly move for them to copyright infring datasat. They could have developed their own brand and word of mouth at that price and performance would have made them fairly popular, especially among the financially strapped.
One must remember that companies that steal intellectual property and/or falsely market their products under another company’s brand name are looking to make as much money as quickly as possible, not the longevity of their business. They price their products very cheap to make a profit by selling a lot of units quickly before they are shut down. Then they start over again using a different name.
Since they have stolen the intellectual property of another company, they do not have the expense of research and design.
It is very common for Chinese companies who have been commissioned to build a product for a brand to make more of the product than the original brand ordered and then sell the exact same product at a lower cost undercutting the original brand.
Given that its China, the whole thing is a ripoff from top to bottom. Its likely some company linked to the CCP wholesale stole the designs from a legitimate budget company that was manufacturing there, and decided to roll some knock-offs with the blatant logo thievery to put the cherry on top. Easy to make stuff for cheap when all you have to do is just bring a thumb drive to someone else's business. No R&D costs or anything like that. Edit: Basically a TL;DR of what he said ☝Still, its one reason I would like Dereck to show discretion in reviewing these types of amps and ensure they are at least a real company first. Giving some bootleg company good publicity just reinforces their profits and keeps the scam going.
China is where they are today because they steal. Almost all electronic components are manufactured in China . This is all supported by their government. If you design a product in some other country then send it to China for manufacturing, guaranteed, your design has been compromised/stolen. Countries should send their manufacturing to other places . Yes it may be more expensive but weighing against the alternatives of what this communist has done and what it now has the capability to do military wise , we should stop now. It might already be too late .
This Chinese junk is probably going to blow after a week of use. And good luck with warranty service after that.

I know I've bought two of the same amps and birth sheets be couple hundred watts different. (Kicker and fosgate in my experience). Just an idea something different

It’s the same irs2092 iraudamp circuit used in many name brand amplifiers out. Great little amp, the ps fets and output fets are cheap and available. The irs2092 is unavailable right now for the average joe, but should hit the market again soon. Great amp that you could keep going for a long time with low repair costs when needed.

It's probably the exact same as the diamond Amp. Basically the way these Chinese manufacturers work is the factory that makes the diamond Amp from 9-5, at 5:00 the diamond brand light shuts off, but that factory keeps running 24hrs a day. So the amps they produce outside of the diamond brand hours, they just slap their own brand name on and sell it themselves at a reduced price bc you're going around the middle man... you can really find great quality products at hugely reduced prices if you know just what to look for...

Don't know how long you have been doing this. During the late 1970's up to about 1990, a friend of mine ran a car stereo shop (still does). During that time, he built several crank it up cars. We had a design we were going to put in an abandoned Rambler station wagon, but the shopping center had it towed off before we could do it. The design was based on the speaker that a company called LTV built in the 1940's to test the microphone used to record an early nuclear explosion. One of the cars he built was for a customer with a 1970's Chevy Monte-Carlo with the long doors. The owner decided to go all in and cut the guts out of the doors and put 2 15's in each door. 4-18's went where the back seat used to be. Since there was a little space left at the top, they through in some 10 inch Gauss for the mid-bass. In the truck were 6 Harmon Kardon CA-260 amps, with all but one bridged mono. A series of 5 inch across the top of the doors and some JBL studio tweets under the dash, rounded out the drivers. This was fed by a high end Nakamichi cassette deck with computer controlled azimuth and a high end ADS for equalization. The day of the contest came and we all drove to Dallas for the event. We get there and the same guy who beat our car the previous year shows up with a 1960 Cadillac Hearse. 7-1500 watt amps and a - no kidding 26 inch Woofer for the low bass. 2-150 amp alternators. Even with that, it still took 14 or so Marine batteries, just to turn the stereo on. Yep lost again, but just barely. The winner got a mini-pickup, but more importantly for the young gentleman, he got a job! A leading amplifier company hired him as an engineer.

The insides look okay. I was expecting crappy caps and used mosfets extracted from ewaste but those seem like brand new mosfets. Although in china they can extract parts from ewaste and make them look like they came out of production line the other day.

@@johnhornbeak5735 that is protective clothe braid. the two outside legs are your high voltage/high current legs. the middle leg is the "switched" one. If you think of them as relays....the braiding is to protect things from arcing to the heat sink in crazy conditions. probably cheaper than running a piece of plastic the whole length behind the mosfets. the chinese will cut ANY and EVERY possible corner to scrimp a penny. its how they sell these things for 63 bucks. 25% of which is import tax.

Datasat is the new owner of the DTS digital film sound patents. The AP25 was one of the last film cinema sound processors produced. Datasat still provides some support for legacy DTS film equipment, including the DTS-6, DTS-6D, DTS-6AD, and layer processors and film timecode readers. They also cover the DTS decoding on home audio equipment.
Stuff like this is insane. Proves audio of decent quality doesn't have to be expensive. Would it work for years? Who knows? At below $70 the gamble seems well worth it. But, alas, it ain't available and for a what is likely the reason you postulated. Why didn't it just get a rebrand is the real mystery?
The z44 power mosfet is arguably the best transistor ever in the car audio amp world. Due to their prevalence in many very good amps, including the early zed amps and countless others. Though there are many newer power transistors with higher performance they are a classic, timeless piece.

I think its one of the reasons why it has poor efficiency and big difference dynamic vs clipping. Those mosfets are pretty old and inefficient. I would change mosfets for something better and probably would see 1000w up to clipping if the transformer isnt saturating ofc.
@@JusstyteN yes, I did state that there were newer parts with higher performance. Efficiency being one of those parameters, I would probably put in some 3205s but years from now the z44 or it's crossover will continue to be used in amplifiers.

Interesting bit of kit there. I have a Velodyne 150W sub that I've been running for about 20 years (not continuously). It's an 8" cone in a ported case with crossover. The box it came in is long gone and I have it right next to a reflecting wall. My question is, is it as nice as I think it is? Yeah, it is fraying a bit on the cover. But it shakes the whole house. It also cost a whole lot less than current Velodyne products.
my boxes got smashed up but the one sounds decent enough, since the glue is holding up. they are cheap 12" passive speakers, so i use it in the house with a 200w car stereo (low power so a broke box isnt audible)
. look at the corner of the box and see if you can pull/push the panels together. if the glue isnt holding and its loose youll hear it as the speaker flexes and shakes the box, making a god awful noise. shouldnt hurt the speaker any though.
is the amp built into the speaker? might be fun to make a new box for the old active speaker. or find a prebuiltbox and fit the sub and amp into, idk.

bro i took a piece of wood and glued it over a 12" whole. then fitted a 10" sub to said panel in place of the 12" speaker, giving it a bigger enclosure..... it sounded ok, needs a lpf though.
@@1oneguythat I should proof read better. What's gone / going is the cloth on the front. The physical enclosure is fine. The amp is built into the same box as the speaker. It puts out an amazing amount of base for an 8" with no passive driver. Although my room isn't that big, it still resonates a good portion of the house because of modern home construction. When I was in an apartment, it nearly got me evicted. LOL.

Looking back at this, I see 2 weaknesses:
The power supply MOSFETs and the output choke coil.
Replace the 4 Z44n MOSFETs with something a little stronger and your certified/uncertified numbers might get closer to the dynamic results.
The output filtering choke looks a bit small for even 600 watts at 1 ohm considering the 30 amps of output current available.
I think if I could get one (change the name to "DataSnatch" for all I care), that would be the first upgrades I made.
Too bad @barevids couldn't get his hands on this and confirm my theories...

The good news is that this thing would probably last about a week so maybe it's not so bad that you can't buy it on Amazon. I mean, if you have to be suspicious that the caps are carrying fake labels ... One of the reasons to spend more on known name-brand products is longevity. A $60 amp sounds like a steal until you have to replace it every couple months and the costs soon add up to what you'd have paid for something built better. Thanks for posting this video, it was very thorough and very interesting.

@@wal You're welcome. I learned my lesson about this by buying cheap subwoofers that last 6 - 8 months. I finally woke up and decided to bite the bullet on a genuine Klipsch subwoofer that has now been in service for three years and is still working as well as the day I hooked it up. It wasn't terribly expensive and in the long run it's a *_lot_* cheaper than buying a pile of cheap gear at half the price. There are about 5 subs up in my attic waiting for the day I can either use some of the parts, repair them or chuck them in the trash. Those subs were all a loss financially, if I'd bought the Klipsch to begin with I'd be richer, happier and less frustrated.
Surprisingly good little amp for the money. Who knows if it would last a long time or not but for $63, I'd buy one.

So even at 100% efficiency a '1000W' (RMS) amplifier would require 1000/12 = 85 amps of current from your car battery for full output. Even class D amps are not 100% efficient.
These power ratings are x4 for people who know nothing about true amplifier engineering (which I did for 14 years) or about speaker efficiency.
A 100W RMS Marshall top and speaker in a car would permanently destroy your hearing quite quickly. This may make your boot ('trunk') lid rattle and annoy pedestrians. Lol.
I'm a musician who uses amplification, as with other musicians I know how very, very loud a 50W amp is. At 100W it's stupidly loud. 1000W and I would want to stand at least 25- 30 metres from the speakers, and do so outdoors.
Power ratings of performing musician's gear is based in reality. In contrast, power ratings of general consumer audio gear are in a fantasy land.
edit, BTW as far as electrical engineers are concerned "RMS" power doesn't exist. It's a misuse of the concept Root Mean Square (RMS).

The ONLY valid power rating is RMS.
Music power, peak music power, total peak music power is why we see 100 watt amps "USB Powered"... Think about that. 100watts from 5 volts !
What this painfully goes to show is that the 'real' Datasat has one hell of an uplift on their profits if the components are so inexpensive. Reminds me of the $3000 Axe-FX III guitar processor, where the central DSP can be purchased for $50. There's NOTHING custom inside...same with Datasat.
"...copy other's designs..." Sigh. No, that's not the explanation. What happens is that some company (for example in China) designs and builds the no-name (!) generic product, and they're happy to slap on whatever made-up brand name you'd like printed on it (provided you order at least 'N' of them, where 'N' is 500 or whatever). Just because you happen to have heard of one made-up brand name before the other, doesn't really matter. If you visit certain Asian cities, you might happen to see the displays of such design & manufacturing companies offering their generic products to be branded however you like. I first saw this in the 1980s in Taipei Taiwan. It's still common practice even now.

Früher hatte ich auch mal eine mittelmäßig leistungsstarke Anlage im Auto - mit Komponenten von Focal, Alpine, Emphaser und einem schönen 18 Zoll Subwoofer von Ground Zero. Die EA 2350 war für die damalige Zeit eine gute Endstufe. Den Subwoofer habe ich mit zwei Endstufen betrieben. :)

Big D i love you man but hate those x4 kicker squares, they're made of plastic = more un-natural noise/s the sharp corners from being square causes more noises lol i owned these in a jeep and hated them kicker is not a good brand anymore i know this is opinion but i get bored of my shyte fast so i'm always selling and buying new stuff so i have delt with most brands out there since 1990! I get a laugh out of Sun Down/CT/SKar, kicker is now a Wal-Mart brand to me, best subs hands down for cars keeping a balance of SQ and SPL in mind are JL and the more affordable non sibling lol NVX. I know JL's are made of poly and i really hate that but their sound is amazingly clean and accurate as to where the NVX's are pulp paper my favorite style woofer sound is natural as possible. I don't mind a full sized poly dust cap as long as the cone is paper like the 2008-2010 Fosgate P3's not sure of the year but those were great subwoofers. Not to get in to infinity and Fosgate's aluminum cones which boggles my mind how they sound as awesome as they do just still not paper. But anyway square subs = bad 4 un-natural stress points per sub and source of more wind noise something we want to avoid already from box leaks and port noise just really bad for suvs'. So i've owned couple sets of kickers in the 90's 400 watt rms subs and was happy with them till the 2k the gray plastic ones came out seems like a look they stuck with right up till the solo x's, so trying to upgrade from P3 15's on a punch 1000.1 b/d amd same amp tried the solo x's this is after not liking a pair of L7's my local dealer said this box has been used enough to be broken in and i would love it so they demo'd it in my car. it sounded nothing like bass just air farting we said nothing looked at each other and they went on to greener pastures. The solo x was a factory kicker box ported btw. Make me jealous and make a quad box of NVX gen 2 12's or 15's and TELL me you don't think it's better then them plastic square junks lol PS: Not sure how open air testing on car sub boxes works they're supposed to be in a confined space like the trunk and or cabin of a car, plus the open air of a house or it's garage just cause for more noises then bass reproduction, you can tell that it is loud sure but not so much for sound quality.

30 amps x 12 volts x 2 = 720 watts if the amp was 100% efficient. Even at 15.5v and 100% efficiency that's only 930 watts. So either this isn't going to make specs or it's going to blow fuses constantly. Notice when he does the uncertified test it goes to 136 amps, how do you pull 136 amps through two 30 amp fuses? Something very wrong.
The terminal side of the amp layout is quiet similar to an old Pioneer PRSD1200M I have lol

I have an amp that will ACTUALLY work at 1000w a channel at 2ohm. (And work well)
And its a few thousand dollars lol

I'm not a fan of window-shaking base. I prefer treble in the upper ranges of human hearing at 130-140 decibels. When my gangsta neighbors start shaking the walls, I make their ears bleed.

Just goes to say how much all the High End companies that sell their stuff more than 10 times more expensive than Chinese made thingies make off you…. Even if you double the cost of making one of these things…they rip us off(the High End companies….)
56% eficiency @ 1300W means the device needs to dissipate 570W somehow. It won't last long without a proper heatsink.
I wish I could luck onto something like this. Being on a fixed income sucks when you love having a decent sound system. Need a new amp but everything I look at is just outside my price range
How is that the FLUKE is showing 80Amps current but the amp has 60Amps (2 x 30Amps) in the fuses and they don't blow?

it's strange. it actually appears to be a very high quality product both externally and internally. They are not using the cheapest pcb (it would be generic green, not red) and who the hell puts sleeves on the diode packs and transistors legs? I really don't know what's going on with this product it's priced like cheap junk but actually seems pretty good. Although that being said one of the capacitors is already leaking 11:45 you can see a cap with leaking electrolyte in middle of screen. I wonder if this was some sort of partnership or something between a small manufacturer and datasat but for whatever reason datasat pulled out but the manufacturer went ahead and started selling them anyway.
I expected a budget bust but instead it's the new Dual/Jensen/GenericName. Hope it makes it's way back under a new name. Go Amiraca!

These types of companies in China buy the product they are trying to copy, study how it is made and mass produce their own with cheap parts. These companies some times put the original companies out of business. This is the main reason I do not like buying products made in China unless it is clearly there own design.
And no doubt the output is flat from 20-20,000 Hz within 2db. Sure. At that price, something criminal is going on.

The "companies just copy other people's designs and use them as their own" is called the "global economy" which is why an American company may be able to legally claim it was "Made by America" because an American client commissioned the production.

Why even pick such a high end brand? I have never heard of them and you had to get online to do some digging to find out if they made. They should have just named it the bump master or anything other then a brand that sells 20k + equipment.

Did you change the 30 amp fuses to 40 amp ? Was there a wattage difference with the bigger fuses ?

Looks nice which is a change for the ultra budget amps.But at that price driving notoriously innefficient Solobarics that well is a win in anyone's eyes.
Bought 2 one for daughter and one just because. Hooked up daughters at 1 ohm and after 3 minutes or so higher volume blew fuse twice so switched out with the just because one i had and it did the same so doesn't look like it like 1ohm. Sounded good while it played.
