I want to build an outside bathroom. When my kids, family and friends use my pool, they’ve got to walk through the living room to get to the bathroom. I think something like this would be great.
I just bought myself a wooden shed for 1500 and figured I can make it into my own space 6x8 feet and just a small space for me. This video gives me lots of ideas to make it my own private space. Such a cool concept ! Every man needs a man cave lol. Wooden sheds can last 15-20 years too apparently.
Thanks Pete - I always enjoy that you strike the perfect balance in terms of length. Enough to be informative and to learn from - while still being entertaining. I do have to admit that I often watch twice because I find myself enjoying the beautiful scenery where you live.
Thanks so much man! I appreciate the feedback. I try to include the basics for people interested in the steps / process, and to edit out the unnecessary footage that would just add to the length. Thanks for watching, and glad the scenery is fun to watch for ya! Cheers!
I appreciate the detailed thought and explanation throughout (like natural lighting for video calls). I can’t wait to build my office shed! Thanks for posting.
Glad to see you put up more videos, and never tire of your background landscape. That peppercorn and mahogany stain color is amazing. Hope to see more videos and keep up the great work!
Really nice! I’d like a version of that for a bee house. Bee boxes would be enclosed inside the shed and holes on the back wall for them to enter and leave.
Love it! Just awesome. If it were my build, I would go with a larger bay window (non-opening, no obstruction of view). Then one small sliding window on the side wall for ventilation.
I had one of these but it wasn’t as joyful as I’d hoped. In North Carolina it was too hot in the summers to cool the thing down and to cold in the winters to keep it warm. I wish I’d given it a more serious electrical service and just plan to have a mini split system in there. Maybe a wood stove for the coldest days.
Hey Bob, thank you! Looking forward to following your project. Glad the video gave ya a few ideas! Here is a little larger building I did of a warming house that may give a few additional ideas as well if ya need any. ruclips.net/video/i-Hl10ogJTQ/видео.htmlsi=9y8XRuoFPJXxQdhv --- Have a great start to the new year and cheers from Montana! - Pete
Oh, man!!! Your super cozy and really tiny working shed is ABSOLUTELY mind-blowing and such a great job!!!! You've taken this goal perfectly, and, you've taken such a strong desicion to dive deep into it and lately jump out with an amazing result! Thank you for such a brilliant job, bro.Kudos for sure, and i'm your very brand new subscriber! 🎉🎉🎉🎉 Cheers, Serge.
Hey Pete, nice little office shed. I'm curious how the setup for the electical works in relation to that outdoor inlet. Is there the equivalent "female" outlet on the inside or did you direct wire it to a panel and set up outlets from the panel? Do you have a video showing both sides of the process?
Fantastic work, Pete! Really well done!!! 😃 Construction prices here in Brazil are really hurting right now... 😬 (I just finished 2 houses for renting and it was a headache!) Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thank you! Bummer to hear costs are still sky high down there. We are still high but OSB and 2x4s are fairly normal. Take care and hope the fam is doing well! Cheers
That's awesome! I have a friend who is doing the same thing as you with a 10x20 shed that is about half storage and half office. Good luck and have fun with your build!
I have a one car garage, built circa 1920 that has seen better days. My plan is to jack up the structure and lay 3 courses of block under the current walls. This will get the lumber up and away from ground moisture, add some more overhead clearance inside, and be a fun project!
Wow this was an exciting and educational video. You did an excellent job of explaining the whole process, even though it was a little fast paced. I’m an electrician and hope to one day build my very own home. Going to binge watch your vids man. Great job! Don’t know what trade you did in your lifetime, but regardless it shows you know the process of how a building is built.
Be careful with using shingles on low pitch roofs they can leak if your pitch isn’t steep enough. This is more for someone watching as I don’t know what your roof pitch is. It just looked rather flat at the beginning and then it Looked fairly pitched toward the end. Nice build I’ve been thinking of building something like this.
He states at one point of the video that it's a 2/12 pitch, which is the minimum allowed for asphalt shingles. Best practice to use full ice & water shield for underlayment.
Amazing, well done Mr. Pete Thanks god i found you because i was thinking to build my own house and shed studio. I'm sure gonna learn a lot of things from you, thank you so much.
Thanks for taking the time to watch the project video! That is cool you are potentially looking at building something similar. Looking forward to hearing what you create! Cheers
Your house is beautiful. 13:45 I am adoring the wood meets black metal trim aesthetic. This shed couldn’t go any better with the style of your home. Great choices all around. Next year, build a golf simulator room/shed
I've suddenly remembered how Snoopy's doghouse had this cool underground level he used for throwing parties. Would be cool to see something like that on youtube
Thanks Scott! It would be awesome for you to put a little creative space in your backyard. You would definitely put something like that to good use. Cheers!
This looks awesome great job. Looking to do something myself for snooker table and bar! Just come across your channel. I'd really appreciate a video explaining the different options for fittings and foundations and the pros and cons of each. I can't find a lot of reliable resources that agree - and being in the UK I'm worried about rain and the longevity of the base!
Thanks for watching! That is definitely a great idea for a video and one I will have to look at making. Hope all is well with your family across the pond! Cheers!
Pete great job, by any chance can you do you plans for a similar shed in the dimensions of 12’ front and back X 10’ sides? Please let me know and how could cost me the plans. Thank you
Thanks Stuart! It's definitely getting better. I've found it takes a long time to build my quad muscle strength back up, but it is getting a lot stronger and I'm hoping to get back out on the ice this winter! Still doesn't feel normal, but i hear it just takes time. Trail running and hiking again though so can't complain! Hope all is well!
Great video! Any kind of guesstimate on how much wind this structure could handle before having an issue? Would love something like this in my backyard.
HI! You could certainly bolt on a 4x4 or something to extend a little ways and then put a hole in it to do ground stakes if you wanted to. It is very heavy though and we get a lot of wind in my neck of the woods. I have a few other sheds and all were built similar and have gone through a max of 70-80mph winds. I'd recommend doing a little more research and determining the winds you may get. We don't have hurricanes here or anything like that to worry about. Cheers!
Awesome breakdown enjoyed all of the details . Have you ever considered using hemplime aka hempcrete for insulation in more of a permanent structure perhaps idk that they can be moved
youtube read my mind. I've been thinking of building a small shed like this just to hang out away from the house. I would go out to the garage. it's fine in the winter down here in South Texas but in the summer it can get 118 in there. I was thinking of building something small with A/C. This shed was pretty much what I imagined. For my build I would feel more comfortable securing it to the ground as we can get some severe weather from time to time.
holy...!!!! 10 mins ago, i was just looking for good videos for building a little house for my dog before this Xmas. 10 mins later, after somehow coming across this video, now all in my mind is I want to build a "house". Oh well, more like a "shed", but with the proper window and door. I will probably not consider the window or door used in this video to reduce the cost though. I may consider to add a skylight window on the roof. Dont know if my local council will approve this...
I can’t get over how accurate and neatly all your cuts line up. Incredible work!
Thanks for watching and taking the time to say hi! Hope all is well!
Measure twice, cut once! 😊
What a view out the window.
Nice, quality build.
In the process of building a small garden shed, 3x7, I wasn't sure how to do the roof, glad you explained it, ty
That's awesome Jeff! Good luck with the garden shed build!
I want to build an outside bathroom. When my kids, family and friends use my pool, they’ve got to walk through the living room to get to the bathroom. I think something like this would be great.
That's a good idea and then they won't be dripping water all over the living room anymore. Looking forward to hearing how it goes!
It’s much easier and quicker to just add an outdoor shower (and combo dressing area), sink and toilet.
@@1974GSMeven quicker to just go in the pool

Hey nobody mentioned that this is a mighty good looking shed! Proportions, colors, everything came out really nice :)
Thanks a ton!
bro.... wtf kinda back yard is that.. my god. its like a windows wallpaper.
yeah and then you have the glass door faing the house.. wai

Awesome video, great job
Your attention to every detail is commendable! I want to build one and this is what I will strive for.
I just ordered some swat clips for my dad for Christmas. Such a cool idea. Never saw anything like it yet. Can’t wait to see how he likes it.
Wow awesome anything is possible with the right attitude and RUclipsr!!! 😂 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks so much for the kind words and taking the time to watch the project video and say hi! Cheers
Your an amazing teacher and narrator I loved your talent and work.
Thanks Pete - I always enjoy that you strike the perfect balance in terms of length. Enough to be informative and to learn from - while still being entertaining. I do have to admit that I often watch twice because I find myself enjoying the beautiful scenery where you live.

Outstanding! I really like your design and color schemes
I appreciate the detailed thought and explanation throughout (like natural lighting for video calls). I can’t wait to build my office shed! Thanks for posting.
It's a wonderful little house with a view overlooking fresh nature, an ideal place to relax and read books. congratulations

This is the best building video ever. Precise and short. You know what you are doing😊
My Favourite RUclips Channel!Hello from Slovakia 🇸🇰 ❤
I hope all is well over in Slovakia! Thanks so much, hope you are having a great weekend. Cheers from the USA!
It’s 12 am, I am randomly watching this thinking about how hard this would be if I could build this, and I’m thinking about building it either way
i read this as you are 12 lol

I wish I’d given it a more serious electrical service and just plan to have a mini split system in there. Maybe a wood stove for the coldest days.
That is an amazing idea! I'm planning to make a home that can move everywhere, especially on my farm, and easily return home
That was awesome, thanks for sharing. I want to do something like this for an insulated chicken coop build and your knowledge really helps.
I love to see when someone does something, but takes their time and makes a good job.
great video as always Pete. Great to see you back at it after the knee injury.. Already counting down the days until the next hockey Rink video.
Thanks so much! The knee is getting better and I'm definitely hoping to be skating this winter! Pretty sure we'll be doing the rink again. Cheers!
That is awesome. I would love to put that in my back yard sit out there enjoy my coffee in the morning
You made it look it's so easy.... nice and neat work
Thanks for watching!
As someone who isn’t handy at all, you made this look attainable. Well done.
This was super helpful Pete! I'm planning a project and this was a great primer for lots of stuff that I'll have to figure out 👍🏼

😮😮😮😮😮 I’m so glad I came across your video. I’m definitely excited to buy your plan to build my own studio shed with the help of the men in my family.
This was so nice to watch. I wish I had just a small amount of your skills.

I actually built a traditional shed several years ago very similar to yours. Still standing and way cheaper than a tuff shed product.
what a cool thing. I'm thinking in preparing a mobile office van and this has a lot of good ideas.
Excellent Pete!
I'll start working on the 10x10 shed in my house as a warehouse this weekend. Meanwhile, I'm moving to the definitive house,
That's awesome, have fun with the project!
Simply beautiful.

He might prefer not to provide electrical guidance is my guess; I think I'd play it safe and leave it vague if I were in his position
Stunning. I’m looking to build something very similar in the next few months.
Fantastic work, Pete! Really well done!!! 😃

What a gorgeous setting for it too nice work I want one of these for when I work from home.
Thanks for watching!
the trick at 9:46 is so simple, but I'd never thought of doing that before!
Oh yeah, makes it so easy and is a perfect hack for a little shed :)
Wow I love this. I could live in one of these 'sheds'!
Thanks for watching!

You are a master of inspiration. Now I need to start saving to do what you do :) lol
