That curved rear end with the hashed lighting looks very similar to the engines on the Orville. It really does look like a spaceship!
You sound like you want to phuck that gpu right in its rear I/O! You gonna DisplayPort all over its HDMI?
I own one, and thought the same thing. It was a selling point for me. 😆
@@tiberius1837 I was literally just watching The Orville before this video, couldn't help seeing it. I'll probably get a Zotac 40 card next year, it's the only aib design I like so far.
So we get this instead of season 4 lol.
That's what I thought! For closer than a Star Trek ship. Lol
Okay, you know what, it would be amazing to see you build a fully modded build around that card, Jay. Like a very themed, focused build. Like the Star Wars ones you've made. That'd be dope.
I never ONCE seen a pc builder use one, and only seen them in pre-built K-Mart garbage PC's. Do not waste you money, get a real brand name like asus, msi, or gigabyte ... do buy b/c Jay is being paid to shill this crap. @@112Faminehow is zotac garbage????
Super impressive card by zotac, didn't expect such nice cooling performance from it, yet it's so silent. And I think it's the best looking 40 series card, the smooth edges and the fans too looks very elegant.
💯
I think they need to start working on power consumption, gpu performance today is good enough for 4k 120fps. Nvidia needs to learn the environmental impact of energy. Also developers of PC games, for the love of G-O-D, optimize their games.
@@fynkozari9271 do you know Steve?
@@fynkozari9271 what do you mean? 40 series can deliver the same performance as 30 series at lower power consumption.
40 series card has a very impressive cooling perfomance dư to its size. So big. A good exchange
I already thought it was one of the best looking cards when the first AIB cards were appearing in media, now I think it is even better looking. Normally don't care too much about RGB but on this one it actually makes an already good looking card look even better.
Nice to see card makers putting some design effort into the card. Looks good
@Syrious_ Kash have you been out in the real world. Looks are all that matters lol.
@Syrious_ Kash Tell that to manufacturers who keeps adding RGB to pretty much everything and adding $300+++ more. 🤣
yes but the power connector is legit in the middle of the card, what the hell?
ruins the whole build
@@uwva4640 Not if you do like I did: Get the Lian-Li Strimer GPU cable, plug the nvidia adapter into the gpu, use regular power cables to connect to the adapter, then zip tie the bundle to the back of the strimer, where the main cables are, and run the strimer up to the gpu, and tuck the not needed 8-pin plugs into the gap between the cooler and PCB, so it LOOKS like it's plugged in.
That way, you get all the RGB goodness, and no messy power splitting nonsense.
Due to its size and price, I would rather pay 200 more and get a 4090. I think a lot of people feel the same, as once a week you can easily get a 4080 near me, but cant find a 4090. I am going to wait and see the benchmarks from team red.
Yes, i have this Zotac AiRO card but the 4090 version.👍🏻
Looks sick on my build.
No, the 4080 is objectively the worst cost/benefit you can get right now, outside of ridiculously overpriced 3090's and what not, you did a bad purchase, accept it

@D dont worry new amd card has improved retracing performance
Bahaha, good luck with that dream. 2k for 4090 unless you get the FE lottery. Holiday season is on.
And since when is 4090 only 200 more
Man, that card looks so elegant! Love that RGB implementation looks SUPER futuristic!
I get such Star Citizen vibes from it, reminds me specifically of the 300i and 100i (if you're not familiar with the game just google: Origin 100i / Origin 300i and go to images, you'll see them)
Not only did Zotac design the sexiest looking shroud and backplate, but their engineers have really been working overtime. Zotac actually created a truly ducted fan tip shroud that fits snugly around the fan tips and extends back deeply to the fins like a mini jet engine that should generate incredible air pressure for cooling. THE PRICE OF THE CARD STILL SUCKS TOO MUCH TO EVER PAY THAT MUCH!!
is it true that the backplate is made of plastic and not of metal?

I've had a ZBOX Magnus, and a Zotac 3090 in one of my rigs for a while, very impressed with their products, and I LOVE the look of these latest gen cards. I'd love to see a star trek themed build around this card... LOVE to see it!
I just got the ZOTAC trinity non-OC 4090. It has performed better than the 4090 FE I had in every category. Very impressed with Zotac. It is my first product from them.
do you still stick by this? I'm expecting mine to arrive next week (exact same card)
@@itsk0mma Yes. The only downside to the card is the noise that the fans make, it's kind of a low growl sound. Bothered me, didn't bother my wife. So just doemds on that. Other than that, card is amazing.
@@bdifferentb how much fan speed is it running at to be noticeable?
@@itsk0mma it's not effected by speed. It's the motor sound. It probably won't bother you, just thought I'd mention it. I'm super super weird about noises. Which is one huge plus for this card compared to others, almost no coil whine at all. It's an awesome card bro. I've had several different ones Asus( the wost card, crazy loud coil whine), MSI liquid(also very loud coil whine) This card and FE almost no coil whine. Other than the FE, this was the best easily.
@@bdifferentb thank you for clarifying, I notice a horrible coil whine from my asus strix 1080ti when pushing it in some games, so I think I might know what you mean, we'll see how it does, I'm kinda sensitive to noise, but it depends on the noise if you understand what I'm trying to say.
320 watts x140% = 448 watts which aligns with the 450w rating of the 3x8pin. That's why the slider goes up to 140% (also there's an extra 75 watts available from the board slot as well.)
Not related but I would love to see a video showing how different monitor setups, monitor size, number of displays, ultra wide vs two monitors effect gpu load 👍
This!
Display count doesn’t affect performance at all. Only video playback, and rendering effects GPU load.
Plus 1 on this, I currently run 3 monitors (1440p) and would be curious if I disconnected two of them when gaming if it would be "faster" or affect anything.
@@suppressed_viii the reason why I am asking in the first place, he said when he was doing the last ultra wide review one untra wide was less load on the gpu then running a duel monitor setup. Also I would be interested in seeing how monitors of the same resolution and refresh rate change gpu load as they change in size.
seeing the pictures online i wasn't really sure if i liked this design but seeing your video i absolutely love it.
Just got the 4090 version at MicroCenter. Upgraded from a 3090 Gaming Trio X. I was concerned about the width (HYTE Y60 case) but it fit perfectly, with enough room for airflow. Some versions barely have room between the fans and the glass. The card itself looks great however, in a Y60 case, the curves make it look out of place since the rest of the case is straight/angular. For a regular case where the front of the card is not on display, it wouldn’t matter. The RGB accents look really nice and the warranty seems solid. The packaging DOES look SUPER premium. Two thumbs up! 🤣
The card looks gorgeous. Even the lighting is great. And the booting effect. Those are nice attention to detail. The little things.

I just bought mine today with the corsair sleeved cables, it looks so good! I move the cable over the card and towards the right side of it so it doesn't mask the RGB bar. That card is huge too! Make sure you got room for it. I have about 6cm between the edge of the card and the frame where my front fans are.
I'm glad someone is doing a review of Zotac in a positive light. I remember for the longest time the majority of people I interacted with would shit on Zotac (especially the gtx 10 series) for being cheap or under-engineered. Despite the hate they normally get, my 1080ti (I had the AMP! edition, non-extreme) was able to boost up to the hard limit of 2.1ghz that all 1080tis had and never reached more than 89-90c without any modification. I'll admit I got lucky, though, with the 6700k that I had it paired with, since I got a binned processor (4.6ghz stable OC before delidding and liquid metal application). Best gaming rig I ever owned, but I digress. Point being, Zotac gets a lot of unnecessary hate, so this video was refreshing to see.
Just like other manufacturers get overrated- I have Asus kit and wonder if it was actually worth the premium

Many of them would be fine on a 200$ card while this is unique and looks good even at this price point. In general looks are fine on Zotac for a while now. I don't think the 4080 price is the problem, it's the whole gpu market that is still too high. You can't get a 4090 for msrp right now and the 3090/ti are both more expensive than the 4080. Even 3080ti prices seem extremely high right now, almost as much as a 4080. Until the new amd cards release the 4080 isn't looking so bad and I can absolutely see why people are buying it. Also this zotac card looks amazing, I don't care for most rgb but when tastefully done like this it looks great.

After EVGA , i'd say the best card brand is zotac. my Zotac Geforce 1070 AMP edition (reccently retired) ran like a damn champ for 5 years. still works , only reason i didn't drop it in my mom's pc yet is her 450 watt psu doesn't have 2 pci-e cables. (and the 1070 recomends a 500-550 watt psu).
with EVGA having left the market if i get another nvidia card in the future it'll be a Zotac one. currently my plans are basically my enxt build is gonna be AMD.
EDIT:
ice storm refers to their proprietery cooler design , fire storm is refering to their software suite that comes with the card (it's basically their version of MSI afterburner. it controls the fans , the clock settings ect ect. though ti laike hardware monitoring , or aleast it did back in teh 1070 .

When the 4090's released and were out for a couple of weeks it was the Zotac models that I was looking to buy. All of the other 4090 cards were bricks with designs glued onto them. Zotac IMO took the brick, laid it on a design bench, rubbed their chins for a moment or two and said give it sexy curves. Upon doing that when they were finished they popped out the 4090 variant of the card you were testing. Out of all of the the other clean and straight designs it is the MSI Suprim that I like the best. But out of all designs as a total I like the Zotac design over everything ese. :)

I really love that lighting design. I normally don't care for RGBs that much because it doesn't make the card faster, just more expensive. But this looks really cool! I just hope they do something similar for AMD cards (although maybe in red), because I sure as hell won't be buying an Nvidia card anytime soon.

I won't lie, I just got done finishing a $5200 build over two years with the final piece being a 3080 I bought second-hand. I don't foresee myself buying any new parts for quite some time, several years at least with the way transistor counts are progressing every so often. What software did you use to see the voltage, usage, frequency, power draw, etc? Also, that card looks amazing as hell, I remember everyone used to make fun of zotac's 30 series cards, but now they have some of the best cooling, aesthetics, and are much cheaper than the suprim x and rog strix.
Good to see Zotac getting some love. Switched to them back during the Pascal series. Their all white cards were amazing for several all/semi white builds that I've done for myself & others.
I'd think about buying this in the RTX 4090 version, but I think I would go 7900xtx over any 4080 version. I guess reviews will tell if I go 4090 or 7900xtx. I currently have a Zotac 3080 ti I was able to buy from their online store back in 2020.
At the beginning, the card without load went into passive mode, but after a few days, the fans work all the time. What should I do to make the fans run only when the card is loaded?
I got a Zotac 4090 OC and im very happy with it.
I have the 4090 version of this card, Its a beast
Totally agree, best looking card I have ever seen IMO and so fast
@@ericpisch2732 yep. Definitely the best looking card I've seen in a long time
i’m using the same case and i so badly wanna out it vertically but it looks like it’s gonna kiss the panel
That's beautiful. Don't even have the money or real need for a new GPU currently, but this makes me want one.
This is the model of 4090 that I got and I absolutely love this thing. I have it vertically mounted and there are rgbs in a ring around the front shroud as well.
1:10 I still love that transition so much. seamless perfection!
I just installed mine upgraded from a 1660 TI to this exact one in white and it feels and looks amazing
i like how he says im not gonna do that 😂 , nice review jay thanks.
Just got mine today. Works wonderfully. Looks so bad ass like a alien spaceship.
A Major concern i see with this card is the back plate. when you showed it mounted in traditional style the hole in the back will get dusted / dirty all over over and cause issues to the back of the gpu components due to no cover in that spot, unlike most cards do
Clean your PC more regularly
I just got the 4090 version and it's incredible. Completely silent with no coil whine or fan noise.
If you do open build definitely the low freq. hum is more acceptible, but in closed case high pitch hum is better as high freqs are much to attenuate than low freq hum.
That startup effect sound effect Jay made was perfect
That World of Warships footage is doctored. You weren’t torped by a submarine or bombed into oblivion by the aircraft carrier lol.
The style very much feels like ship manufacturer Origin from Star Citizen. Zotac did a very good job!
is it just me or the most interesting moment of these GPU launches is when the xx60-xx70 cards come out?
I just can't manage to be excited or very curious about cards that cost a paycheck and a half.
I have the 4090 with a 13900K in a fractal Meshify 2 and the 4080 with a 10850K in a fractal Meshify 2 XL. They both look gorgeous and perform even better. Sweet spot for 24-7 gaming is +725 memory/+ 115 core on my 4090 and +620/+95 on my 4080 (both at max PL obviously). By FAR the best looking 4xxx cards you can get unless you go all out GALAX. They stay SUPER cool as well.
