The thing is, the shipper in the video has exhausted 50% of the space on the outside of their property by filling it with merchandise. When by their own policy the back of the store is our delivery loading and unloading area. It is supposed to be left clear and free of anything that isn't supposed to be getting loaded. That's their policy! When the back of the store filled up with product including the delivery area, I came up with alternative parking area which is around the corner from the backside of the building as a compromise to them "being short staffed" and having to much product being the building. Now beyond that is the parking lot and then the far side of the store is the dryvan dock receiving area and garden. They exhausted OUR solutions. I already knew they were going to try to escalate because when I called dispatch and told them that there was no room to get loaded dispatch called the store and asked what was going on to which then they got the reply that the delivery guy(me) was lying! Considering we are supposed to have adequate space on both sides to get loaded at the same time and their lack of staff means nothing to us. This company literally paid employees to stay home if they chose to be. That's why they were understaffed during the time masks were in full effect
Yeah but the point is your creating the problem here. The manager was
Clearly being honest and working with you.. cmon man as per policy hahaha thats in a perfect world and you've been here long enough to realize were nothing but that.
You're literally out there everyday thinking everything you do is perfect and you just look to cause problems.
You break rules and
Policy sometimes guaranteed
yes, understood. so that's their proble and nothign to do with you, just because they didnt follow their policy does not mean you can be an ass and make it difficult to load your truck. You're acting like you're the CEO of their business and mad at them for not following protocol. Get over yourself - you're just a delivery driver you just get paid to pick up and drop off goods (as you always say to customers when they have problems with orders).
The contention between drivers and the store... Glad I don't deal with that shit anymore. You can tell the employees and even managers are dying and you're giving them grief on top of all the nonsense dealing with customers and corporate that goes on within the walls. They don't have much control at all over the product that comes to their building and given the amount of crap sitting outside it's likely that they're designated as a primary fulfillment location which makes it even worse. They've been cursed with a smaller drive too, should be able to fit 4 bunks of wood and still have room before they hit the line plus the drive wide enough to unload a truck from both sides. Give them some grace and yourself too. Some nameless corporate guys and divisional folks who're pulling $200k+ a year are signing off on these decisions that make everyone's job harder.
Buddy i have done your exact job, you turned this into way more than it needs to be.
@@MikeB-py4ym ok
I did always find it funny that people seem to think that the truck driver doesn't have ultimate control over whether or not the load was taken. It is protected by law. If the trucker says "no" to the way you packed it, its not going butter-cup. This BS is why I tell my guys to document as much as possible. People LOVE to come up with BS everyday for their own gains.
"Its not going butter cup" LMAOOOO LOST IT. Ima start using that 😂😂😂😂
Amen.
They load trucks every day. They fucking know what they're doing.
that even applied for my friend in the army when he was in the sandbox if it dident meet there spec they wouldn't take it
Truck driver still kind of a confrontational cock. The fact that he can run a channel on confrontations like this is pretty telling.
There was a time when I was younger when I'd try and point out issues to management, they treated me like chicken little. So, I stopped trying to help, stepped back like they told me to do, and just watched the shit show happen in slow motion. We've all been where this guy is, not sure if he can just step back though, so unfair for him.
Management don't like to hear critical voices. It affects their 'leadership'.
ruclips.net/video/YY3wbhxOFtw/видео.html
@396375a, but that's part of the problem! The disgusting thing is that it's in near everything. Just the lack of care and concern. It's as if nothing really matters so long as "some amount of $$$ is being made"... I remember all of being escorted out of an office for suggesting that I look for methods of improvement in how things operate, efficiency which cuts waste and costs, morale of employees which affects the quality of products/services and customer satisfaction. None of these things seemed to matter so long as, "WHAT WE'RE DOING NOW WORKS!!!" It didn't matter that it didn't work well, that it didn't benefit everyone and there was no initiative to strive for better than "just status quo".
I've never worked in the delivery business but had a family member who did. It was a hell of a mess whether he was making local deliveries day-to-day, courier or traveling across the country with various product loads.
As for this store, I couldn't believe there was such a small area for staging of merchandise to be loaded/unloaded. I mean that small drive looked like the service area of an average strip mall here. All you'd find back there is a line of employee parking spaces and the dumpsters... Unbelievable that this was nearly the equivalent.

I worked for Home Depot for 10 years. EVERY FREAKING DAY, deliveries were a freaking nightmare. That HD employees job sucks. He’s gotta fight with the truck driver, the store manager, the store employees and the customers. Worst job in the world. Highly do not recommend it.
i worked there 5 the day i quit almost 2 years ago was one of the happiest days of my life lol
Yeah Home Depot and Lowe’s are probably the worst stores to deliver to call the store yesterday and they said they got to bring in extra help to unload me I only have 10 windows and they’re not even that big most are small lol
My friend did that but at lowes and he said the same thing. He said that his managers were the worse part, but in combination it makes it worse. So they definitely put up with a lot of bs
Buddy I’ve been buying shit from Home Depot for decades, I ain’t never seen more than 2 employees in all 430 isles at once. That company is shit!
He doesnt "gotta" fight with the drivers, he wants to act like the truck driver belongs to him, demands things that just don't fly, lime unsafe loads, because rather than take it.upon.himself to learn, he wants to sling shit.on the truck as a cowboy load, and gets mad when hes told no. I hauled as a contractor for home Depot for quite some time. Miss me with that sob story .

Yeah driver is the Ken here.. if he spent as much time trying to find a solution as he did complaining he would be loaded and on his way. Guess he just didnt feel like getting anything done on this day. This is what they mean when they say nobody wants to work, rather just complain and do nothing
Dude we found the solution the whole back of the stores where we're actually supposed to park and you see what it looks like get out of here You don't know what you're talking about
@@SaffordDelivery bro the absolute minimum you could have done is pull all the way over to one side so that you at least get one side fully loaded in no time. Instead you park down the middle where both sides are tight and the process just gets dragged on lol
@@moe-lr5xb they've exhausted two sides of the store and next we will be getting loaded in the street
@moe-lr5xb If he did that how could they load tbe second side of the truck? He has delivery appointments that the store has made that he must keep no time to keep moving the truck to load each side.
How’s this guy keep a job being so difficult? He creates 3/4 of the problems
I agree
"i've been here 10 minutes!!". meanwhile, in the UK we can wait hours to be loaded. Damn.....
He's parked in a parking lot to get loaded. He's not parked where trucks get loaded. He's taking deliveries to people's houses, not from warehouse to warehouse. He doesn't need to get loaded in a parking lot and he doesn't need to move his truck over and over again to get loaded and he sure doesn't need to wait days to get loaded when there's a schedule the store made with the customer to get a delivery. Lol
the truck driver was the one that caused the delay to get loaded, he started hammering on the forklift driver the minute he got there, it was the driver that acted like a Karen.
Truck driver is a dickhead, he could easy load one side, move the truck and load the other side. Then he wonders why 3/4s of viewers aren't subscribed.
“You’re supposed to be working WITH us…” that goes both ways.
They can load one side at a time. Such a diva you are.

Waste of fuel unless you want products to go up in prices to take care of the fuel prices.
It ant that big of deal…..why not work together and move the truck to one side come on mam
You got a load the truck evenly or damage can result to the trailer. To move the truck you need to strap the load down before moving it it doesn’t look like a big deal but there’s a very good chance something could shift and damage the product possibly falling to the ground and worst case scenario killing somebody

Yes I agree, he sounds like a real miserable person
All you have to do is move to one side while one side gets loaded. Come up with a way to make it work. Stop complaining about what you can’t control. You complain about what your customers that you deliver to doesn’t understand how your job works and you turn around and do the same to the store when you don’t fully understand what is happening with their business. You kind of needy.
I used to deliver for , Home Depot 🏡 When there wasn't enough room at times because of orders , they would load me on one side and all I did was simply turn around to get the other side loaded
I applaud you’re attitude, others just use the ‘ol “it’s not my job” excuse.
@sheild1117 Yeah, this guy has the it's not my job syndrome.
Others just complain like this guy
I admire your attitude, in this video it was the truck driver causing the problems
You can't turn this rig around like a prius lmfao. Fuck that. Manage your space better.
Both are in the wrong. was very poor management on the lot. But very unwillingness of the driver to work with the crew. I worked shipping for years. Maybe something did happen to the lot and they are cleaning it up when you got to the spot. But your unwillingness that is something that can not be fixed by someone other then yourself. I would not want this driver under my team.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Exactly.
I could hear the “I told you so” when he backed into the the 2x4!!!😂😂😂
It's a shame that all stores don't do the same procedures. I did this job for four years and the trailer was always parked on the side of the building after the deliveries were made for the day, and we loaded it for the next day according to the coordinators route schedule. We clearly worked as a team and now a day's no one wants to work.
Classic sign of piss poor management, blame everyone else for your lack of abilities and then try to get the driver (the guy that actually does his job) in trouble. Smh
Yeah the back of the store only had one lane open for the box truck
What do you expect from Home Depot management
Driver no do his job, driver act like baby.
@WJadam you type like baby mijo!
You could load one side then move your truck and get loaded on the other side. If you don’t want the load then don’t take it. You must have been having a bad day.
What would we do without our lazy ass truck drivers
😂😂
So how's your job at McDonald's going.
Working for Home Depot or any other major corporate company like that is a nightmare.
It seems like overall poor management of the store. And poor delivery man like you have to suffer, but you are smart to record proof of your innocence. I applaud you sir.
6:02 The cheapest/easiest solution would have been for him to add one more bag to the top rather than pull off 2 layers to swap the ripped one.
But they did it the college way!
Yeah they would have to secure it also ( can't have a random loose bag up on top
but I agree.
You would also have to secure the broken bag, otherwise the truck driver is responsible for anything that fly’s of his truck
I used to deliver freight to several Home Depot’s, but in a dry van, as you know it gets crazy busy during the Spring with crap all over the place. I didn’t have to put up with all the BS that you do, especially dealing with the customers crap when you go to deliver. However, we were always a day late and a dollar short and would get screamed at by the shippers and receivers for being late blah blah but after awhile they would say “ I know it’s not your fault” haha trucking just sucks sometimes! Happy trails driver!!
As a former manage from the old days at Depot ( Bernie and Arthur) I can tell you that back receiving area has always been a struggle. Store Managers and Assistants used to get demoted when the product got all over back and the Fire Marshall showed up to write fines.
The regional managers used to drive the back and call all managers to discuss the overflow of product on a regular bases.
You need to manage the product and not let the product manage.
I was going to say something about fire safety, but you did it already! 😂
Retail "managers" aren't really managers. They're salespeople who had good sales and high numbers and corporate automatically assumes that translates to being a good manager. Retail is an absolute joke and I'm so glad to be out of the industry after nearly 20 years. Terrible customer service and these so called managers hate it when they can't just order people around like they do their minimum wage paid employees. I love making these sorry excuses for managers get all riled up, so much fun.
Not really, a lot of them were brought in from Walmart,Sears ect who had no idea about anything in the building material industry 9 year HD associate(retired)

The emergency exits are blocked with merchandise too.
Guy doesn’t understand safety… yard should be cleared. Poor management.
This is why I'm involved with flatbed deliveries at my current employers. If the load pullers aren't making the load safe, I have them make it safe like anything above 10ft in length for lumber gets 3 bands minimum, composite deck boards get 5 minimum for 12 and 16ft, etc. Plus I keep the area clean and work with my drivers to help them as much as I can. That "manager" shouldn't be in that position at all.
The driver is being a bit confrontational. In truth, Home Depot isn't going anywhere. They have deep pockets, and despite the Class A driver shortages, he can be replaced. The fastest way to being bumped from the property (for good) will be more discussion about liability. Managers are not going to debate you about liability in the back parking lot. Be a partner; not an adversary. Yes, it works both ways but clearly they are doing about the best they can. I'm sure the store is not staffed with tons of people and the back lot is clearly tight on space. Be part of the solution; not fuel the problem. My two cents.
A multi billion dollar company with all these policies and payroll to staff a bunch of people decides they need us to understand their problems? We understand that it's their problem 😂
Well said
@@SaffordDelivery I’ve watched the video a couple of times now and I do feel you were being argumentative for the sake of it. It seemed like the store employee was trying to accommodate you to the best he was able to. It sucks for him just as much as it sucks for you the driver, I can assure you of that. I say all that for a few reasons… it seems you’re upset about parking on the side of the building but you also say it’s okay with you. You wanted things to be staged on the side of the building if that were you were going to be loaded. While that seems like a reasonable request logically, that will never happen practically. That’s just the nature of the beast that is retail management. You also seemed to be upset about being loaded in a timely manner, but you were being loaded actively, and i didn’t get the impression you had to wait an overly long time for loading to start. As for the way things are loaded on your truck, you’re the driver, you make the call to accept it or not. That I agree with. However if you say no, and they turn around and also say no that’s not how we do it then they’ll just have someone else do it. You can’t dictate anything beyond the sides of your truck. Ultimately I think the dude at the store is in a crappy situation and trying to do what he can. You were being a bit of a ken at times, which I don’t judge you for we all have those days. I just feel you could have done better with the interaction. The employee probably tried at first but real quick realized you just were just gonna be that guy and ended up with I don’t get paid enough to care anymore about this.
Sorry about writing out so much, if I were a better writer with more time I would have wrote less

I’m glad when I use to work for Home Depot for contract delivery the store already new what we wanted done and had everything secure but couple time on the A-frame with windows we had to tell the store it won’t fit and they had to fix it or put it in the box truck.
It's a good thing you had actual proof of what was going on, I personally think the shipping and or store manager should have action taken against them if for nothing else safety reasons.

I was in retail management in the building supply industry for 27 years. Started as showroom manager, for a store in a multi store company. Retired as General manager for the company. If I had I store manager that told a delivery driver to take an unsafe load he would have been pulled from that position and sent back for retraining. If he didn’t like that he would be terminated. Simple as that. Getting a delivery out to a customer isn’t worth killing some one.
As a driver myself, I always tend to take the drivers position, but you really could’ve moved your trailer from one side to the other side of that space so they could access both sides for loading

Sounds like you really hate this job and maybe need to find a different path
Staffing issues have not to do with driver
I've done their store deliveries before where I have to drop the loaded trailer, pull the empty trailer out of the dock, drop it, and then put the loaded trailer in the same dock door. There are times when that is almost impossible because they have so much merchandise stacked in the way.
Typical truck driver, just complains about everything and knows all the answers to fix the World. You were there for what 4 minutes you said before you started recording but somehow you didn’t get the box truck on video that you said had to go up on the curb to get around you, convenient?? And the beginning of the video you’re begging for people to buy your merch. Glad I only wasted 10 minutes watching
If a truck driver like this showed up at my warehouse and complained this much, I’d tell him to kick rocks and sent him on his way. I’ve worked both jobs, warehousing and driving. You’re supposed to work together to get the job done, not make each others job more difficult.
Thanks for letting everyone know how badly you run your warehouse.
I deal with truckers like this every day and its definitely one of the worst parts of my job.
I get both sides of the issue. But at the same time, how is it the store's fault that customer deliveries get delayed for one reason or another or the store just gets slammed with a number of delivery requests and there is no way to clear out all the stock before more delivery requests are made.
If this store is in a high construction area, they need separate lot just to stage the outgoing deliveries. This back area probably should be just for delivery of new product, not for outgoing orders.
This is when as a driver, you just tell your boss that the setup isn't practical for both side loading and you probably can only pick up half the load.
All of that material in the back of the store and on the side of the store were all not deliveries That's stock that's supposed to be in doors. Also that's why we documented everything months and weeks leading up to this incident and we reported it to dispatch when there was a delay. Per protocol were supposed to give them a call ahead which we did we told them the exact time when we would be out there after clocking in which they do get the alert that we were out there per protocol were supposed to call dispatch and let them know when we've been out there for about 10 minutes

I have dealt with 100's of drivers over the years I have spent working in receiving. Usually when a driver would call the store or Corp after being there for just 10 minutes, we would call dispatch to not send them again. I always try to work with drivers who are late/early for their appointment, and we expect the same from our drivers. Why wouldn't you develop an amicable relationship, a little give and take, with the store(s) you deliver for? Most of your other complaints are valid although.

That's where the manager should got on a tow motor and started helping either loading or trying to put the product up in the store.
First video where the driver was unreasonable. Started with attitude out the gate... I thought you tried to accomodate as much as possible? Wouldn't even pull the truck up.... Again, came at their random forklift driver with attitude. Could be polite and reasonable.. You're confrontational and emotional....
That was the manager, you would know that if you paid attention to the conversation. He was not unreasonable, the manager obviously was in to wrong for all of this. Hence why the driver did NOT get into any trouble. Again, pay attention to the entire video before you comment... you must be the Home Depot manager that was not keeping the area organized.

Just flip the damn truck around and stop eating everyone's time!
I watched this video yesterday and today, and it's frustrating to see that there is a lack of communication with in the HD shipping, management, and deliveries system. It's the lack of space. Was there a shortage of drivers? He said he's short of warehouse help, I don't think so, the yard is almost full. I think that guy's under a lot of pressure and just doesn't care. He needs to take a chill-pill. I can vision 3 drivers there waiting, trying to be loaded. Layover
Yup and no detention pay
No detention means no waiting.
Bad management! Just like the airlines, you don’t prep a load until you have a delivery service. All they accomplished is show on paper to the higher up’s that they are moving a lot of merchandise while passing off everyone else.
Whoever is in charge not realizing he’s not only inconveniencing everyone else, but also putting everyone in danger. How about keep your unloading and loading area CLEAR TO LOAD AND UNLOAD. How about not forcing your forklift driver to load a flatbed when the driver of said forklift doesn’t have enough room.
I work for lowes and they make it a point to have the back of the store cleaned up . That store in the video is a hot mess and he should blame himself for not getting it picked up .
Like it or not, everyone is short handed. Patience shows character. Don’t give in to your ego. I’m sure your dispatcher will understand.
Welp on tight timelines and customers waiting on their goods it definitely shows character
@@SaffordDelivery I’m an efficiency expert. I’m all about tight timelines. But, I’m also all about living in reality. I know many of the people you deliver to are shitty people. But, most understand the realities of today. EGO is bad for business.
@@moebartlet9659 "Efficiency Expert" Riddle us this.... 4-5 different store locations in a day required to pick up from. Each location is supposed to have all orders ready(picked pulled wrapped banded 100%) by 10:00 p.m. the night before. Worst case scenario 6:00 a.m. the morning of the day that the orders are supposed to go out. Not including the date or weeks in advance the customer places the order. We have hours of operation between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. and on any given day there are orders that aren't ready and then we are required to wait 29 minutes plus 1 minute per pallet space that is reserved. So it's a hurry up and wait kind of game. Each store delay does not pay us anything worth being called "detention pay" And they still expect us to go to other locations and pick up their orders and deliver in a timely manner Even with the order readiness at the previous location not being 100%. We are also required to give each location a half an hour call ahead prior to arrival and then when we show up that's when they want to start looking for orders and figuring the things out not counting the time that it took for us to drive and waste our fuel to go all the way there for nothing to be ready. THIS is only the surface. "Efficiency expert" We need a full detailed report. We will wait.
@@SaffordDelivery I get it. Everyone is fucked. Just don’t let your ego fuck you.
@@moebartlet9659short staff doesn’t excuse incompetency…
it's not rocket science, park on one side of the road, let one side of the truck be loaded, then move the truck to the other side so the other side of the truck can be loaded. I watched a lot of your videos and thought customers are unreasaonable. Now I realise you're the unreasonable person. You're just being petty because you didn't get the VIP spot so you decided to make it difficult for them by parking your truck in the middle so they can't load properly.
I think he’s too lazy to do that.
Bro your recording yourself losing the argument lol
Nope it's a win in my book because all of management got in trouble at that store
Home D don't care about safety
A delivery driver called Karen
Lmaoooo 👋👋
This is pretty over the top complaining, the driver doesn’t dictate the yard layout. Lots of room there and plenty of drama over nothing. Disappointing!
The driver has been to so many places .He can tell you what works and what does not work well.listen to the driver .
@@ramonpickard1683 his opinion doesn’t matter load and go.
So ur blaming everything on the driver wow
@@jamesdukes597 I’m saying the drivers opinion doesn’t matter in a yard…they come and go , that’s it. The driver doesn’t know why things are the way they are and don’t have to. It’s a really simple concept
The HD guy sounds overwhelmed.
I know this may be a super late response but whatever. I work at Home Depot out in the garden section. Our store and our back lots are super small and makes unloading trucks a nightmare with those forklifts. The managers make sure that there is a clear path through the unloading zones in order for everything to go smoothly. Unfortunately here, this is most likely due to the terrible management at this store. There is plenty of room to load and unload trucks if it wasn't for the merch laying all over the lot. There is no organization anywhere which is clearly an issue here.
The Depot has forklifts doesn’t matter where you put the load for now as long as it’s not blocking the truck going and coming.
I have watched a bunch of your videos and I think you have a bit of a bad attitude in some situations, like you have not time for anyone. From loading to unloading you seem to have a lot of issues. The guys are short handed and well aware they have shit everywhere. Park wherever you can and let them deal with trying to load you. Customers have no Idea that you are only obligated to drop product "curbside". You are at their house or jobsite with a forklift it takes little effort to go the extra mile and help them. Most of the time you do drop stuff in the driveway, but not without mentioning you could just leave it on the curb. The video where you fought with the contractor because he asked if you could pull the forklift up so he could unload into the jobsite was the one that really showed how unwilling you are to do anything but dump the product on the curb.
A multi billion dollar company is short staffed 🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭😭 *dries eyes with tissue. I'm one guy I can't fix their problems.
Most drivers I have worked with are a lot more understanding than this guy and will work around a small issue like this. I would tell you to fuck off and find a driver who works with my company, not against! Everyone is just trying to do their jobs with what they have! This guy representing the shipping company could have very easily caused a lucrative shipping agreement to be lost.
Here's the kind of person that allows the whole back of the store to fill up and still try to load us in the back of the store and then the driver in this video recommend that he start getting loaded on the side of the building where there was space at first but then they continue to fill up the side of the store with inventory.
Are used to work for a factory working shipping and receiving as well as driving a small panel truck to distributors, and he saying that I constantly saw it one of my distributors in the shipping and receiving office said “ Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part”. I’ll never forget that as long as I live
That's pretty infuriating that he admitted he knows it could kill someone and he doesn't give one shit about it. As long as his job is easier.
I normally like your videos, if you would have parked to the left of the yellow line any fork lift driver worth a dam could have loaded the truck. In this case YOU are to blame.
Oh not all of the material that is taking up the whole back of the store which is where we are supposed to park... Interesting
Seems to me like he’s being a prick. I’ve waited 2 plus hours to get loaded at some places
@@bigike9009 God forbid we follow their policy right
@@SaffordDelivery I hear what you’re saying. If I got pissed every time that I had to wait to get loaded I’d probably be fired by now lmao. Plus it’s a huge store so I’d expect them to have their shit together more than a small packing house. I control what I can and fuck what I can’t. Take it easy man
@@bigike9009 You know what used to grind our gears about this was that they would still want to pin uncompleted deliveries on us when orders are supposed to be picked by 10:00 p.m. the night before We start our days at 6:00 a.m. so worst case scenario have it ready by 6:00 a.m. but then stores like this one we wouldn't get to until the afternoon so sometimes in between 11:00 to 3:00 in the afternoon and the location still look like this no space to get loaded product not ready and they want to blame us
If you worked for me, you'd be looking for a new job at the end of the day...
I can't believe that you wouldn' t ahead or back or turn around or go around the lot to load both sides.. You would not drive for me Sir. First day would probably be enough.
Homeboy burning that clutch tf up
Isn't it amazing how when someone gets called out on their bs they try and flip the script on you? That store is a disaster and embarrassment. I hope HD corporate sees these videos and replaces the entire "management team" as clearly they are grossly incompetent and far from being capable of being managers.
They seemed understaffed
@@gggusc11 irregardless, so is everyone right now. And apparently it's been like this for some time. If they have from 10pm the night before, there's no excuse.
