How To Set Up a Suppressed Home Defense Handgun

  • Fieldcraft Survival’s Mike Glover explains why he has moved away from Glocks for his go-to bulletproof home defense handgun to a SIG Sauer P320 XCarry Legion pistol fitted with a red dot and a suppressor. Glover takes you through all the attributes of the pistol, why he chose it, and why he went with SIG’s MODX-9 3D printed titanium suppressor and topped it all off with a Leupold DeltaPoint Pro optic.
    “This has an infrared dot that I could see only with NVGs,” Glover says. “Now, some would [say], ‘Well, Mike, normal people don't get suppressed guns with infrared capability and run night vision for home defense.’ Well, you better level up - level up your game.”

    Mr Mike, I’m curious on your response as far as “stopping power.” Yes, obviously one well placed shot can instantly stop your opponent. HOWEVER, in a situation where they are attempting to take cover, and/or one shot doesn’t do it, what then? Especially with the legality of that type of situation? *this isn’t a knock or criticism at all, just a genuine question behind using FMJ in ANY self defense situation, let alone, home defense.

It seems lawless and people are out to get each other when I know it is not the case, not even in rural America where I have spent many years.
    Just to clarify, I am an avid gun owner and regular shooter, but I do believe that some people are taking things to an extreme and getting paranoid about their safety.

Mike, you know just as well as I do that having time to get NVG’s in a situation such as this is just stupid haha 😂 sure, if EVERYTHING goes exactly perfect for ya!! You’ll be ready! You hear a noise while y’all are eating dinner, you’re not gonna have time to shut the power down, gets the kids safe, grab the NVG, this gun, and NOW clear your house. That’s beyond far fetched Lol otherwise, good setup!! 👍

    I dont need a Weapon for Home Defense. I'm married. That's my Weapon. The Voice can be so loud, so every Burglar or Thieve can be so scared or afraid. So, i dont need a Weapon for Home Defense. I need only my Duty Gun.

  • @bradsimpson8724
    @bradsimpson8724 4 месяца назад

    Man, I can't make heads or tails of this. If I'm putting a gun on my nightstand for self defense, it's because I want to pick it up, rack it, and go; don't want to be digging around in a closet for a helmet with NV. So that pistol, at the very least, would need a white light.
    In a rural environment going outside, night vision makes more sense, but I want a rifle for that. If I can use my pistol to take care of things inside, and there's no imminent threat(like someone kicking in the door), but I suspect that someone is outside, I now have time to check on my kids, get my wife to sit with them with a phone in her hand, get a pair of shoes on, load a rifle, and go investigate a potential threat outside.
    This smells suspiciously like an ad for SIG. And if that's what you're doing to pay the bills, that's fine. But be up front about it.
