I love driving and flying all my RC toys, cars, trucks, airplanes, drones, EVERYTHING, via FPV video with goggles or monitor - this is a super easy and semi-affordable/cheap way to setup FPV on just about anything. Racing side-by-side with friends is crazy fun too - it's like Mario Kart or a video game in real life!
First you need a cheap, tiny FPV camera, with VTX (video transmitter) built-in. The TX01 is my favorite since there is no soldering or setup needed. Just buy a pack of those Nano batteries (200mAh, 1S, 3.7V, 35C, work great for me: amzn.to/2bCpyT8 ), and either tape or velcro onto your RC car/drone/etc.
The only other step is to purchase (if you don't already have) an FPV 5.8Ghz video receiver monitor or goggles. Above I tested 3 varying models, each with different features. All are priced pretty affordable, but there are some premium goggles like FatShark that go way up in price, but are super legit and packed with features.

I work at a hobby store and I want to make all our RC cars FPV that race on our track, I think it would be something that would really change the dynamics of the store, but first I would have to find a cheap and reliable way of making it work. I have BIG plans to make this explode onto the scene as not just for hardcore RC'rs but for everybody out there.

Excellent video, thank you, wish I had found it long ago. This is the kind of video that really helps people understand the basics of a new technology. Although FPV isn't new to many of us, it is still a mystery to most, and you have covered just enough to make people say "Oh, so that's how it works!" I'm sure you will now get numerous requests to dive deeper into FPV so people can actually put a system together and know what they're doing - too much for this short intro but necessary stuff.

Hello, lovely video, I am quite interested in FPV cameras but my specific need is a little strange and I was curious if you could help?
So, I would want to use these in costumes, the costumes I make are similar to helmets with a limited view and for my own safety and along with anyone around me, Id want to install 2 or 3 different views to see to my sides and behind myself [the costume will likely be similar to tunnel vision at worst possible for standard visibility.]
My question is, is there a way to work around it with much smaller screens and i can easily do a fully corded set up [all parts connected]
I want to mount the monitors specifically to my forehead area inside the head so i can still see in front of me while being able to check the other directions in a moments time.

Best budget fpv headset with dvr?
While it is possible to drive just about everything using FPV it's also good to take into account the type of vehicle and equipment you're using. For example; monster trucks seem like they would be fun for FPV, however, their tendency to topple over means that you might have to eventually get up and go flip that truck back on its wheels. Additionally, without depth perception it's easy to crash into nearby objects because there is no easy way to gauge their distance. Depth perception isn't very necessary when flying up high in a drone but it makes a huge difference on land vehicles. Fortunately there's a few 3D options currently available on the market. I was frustrated trying to use my crawler in FPV because I couldn't judge distance until I got some 3D FPV equipment. With 3D it's more like driving for real but now I'm looking for a tiny head tracking camera system that I can use on land vehicles. Something small like the DJI Mavic Pro's gimbal would be awesome on a RC car although it would have to be engineered to take a lot of abuse in order to be able to drive fast and jump. If anyone sees something like that please let me know. Thanks
