  • Hello everyone, hope your all well and enjoying the last of the summer sun this side of the hemisphere! 🌎
This is a track i’ve made in tribute to the iconic Unreal Tournament soundtrack. For It blends old-school style breaks with slightly cheesy sci-fi vibes. 🔭
In particular, i’ve referenced ‘Foregone Destruction’ which is the background track for the map Facing Worlds. • Unreal Tournament OST ...
This is the basis for my next production video where I will walk you though the making of this tune. It was a a bit of a freestyle session where I now have about 9 hours of footage to edit down!
This should be out early next week.✌️🚀

Utterly utterly superb. Love the harmonic chord structure.
Also love that you snuck some 4/4 in there.
    Superb mate, really is

Thanks Dan! I did sneak a bit of 4/4 which is rare but actually quite fun :) Excited to get stuck into the next few vids now 🌴😊

I think the OST was made by the same crew that made the soundtrack for the original Deus Ex, that one is one my all time favorite soundtracks, all made on a tracker too. Great track even if I don't recognize the reference since I've never played it.

Ah yes, one of the composers is the dutch Michiel van den Bos. It's that 90s style ambient tracker sound and workflow that makes a big portion of that magic. (And of course the artists craftsmanship) If you wonder how to achieve that typical Deus Ex atmosphere: have a look at a video from Thought Forms, he covered the Deus ex topic specifically. To me that sound touches me on so many levels, it takes me to that dystopian Univers that somehow brings calmness to my mind. It's like I'm walking in that perfect dark city, or some scifi low res 12bit soothing techy but no internet city at night on another world. The music from easily embarrassed also very often brought me there in the past. I think this type of music reminds us of a time where the internet was in it's beginnings and still so very promising, but something we would activate only when we needed it instead of depending on a 24/7 connectivity with push notifications to get even the simplest of things done. Ah man I got a bit lost here in a monologue mumbling etc but basically just wanted to say I agree with what you are saying and I love it that there are other people who enjoy this sound. Cheers. ❤

@@synthphilosophy I agree as well, the 90's optimism was still kicking in the early 00's, once smartphones and social media married it all collapsed.

Haha loved this! Yea damn it was all so hopefull & promising. Then phones started to take over, advertising and marketing to you at every moment. People were more free to just live their lives without constantly being compared to the rest of the world. I remember being amazed by every new thing a computer could do, every game that game out pushing the boundries. Stuff is cool now but it's all got to be hyper engaging, fast action, amazing visuals. From the blockbuster movies to AA games to RUclips. No one wants to chill. 🌴😊

Commented on the original upload, but just wanted to comment on this one also to appease the algorithm gods.
Looking forward to the breakdown! Loved the UT99 soundtrack

I've been playing Unreal Tournament since it came out - one of the best games and OST of all time. Unbelievable that the whole OST is in .XM format - the level of finesse and attention to detail in those mods is unmatched! This track absolutely nails the vibe and could easily be something you'd hear in a fan made map on a private server. 10/10

Yea its a blast! Fun for me that I get to play games like this for work :) Yea the OST is fire - goes with the game perfectly. Glad you liked the tune also - I think I got fairly close to my objective so am happy with it 🌴😊

Cut the voice and flute, and this track would fit perfectly into UT!

Yea I agree the voice is a bit much to hear over and over in a video game but it works for the mine ok. Glad you liked 😊🌴

Yes I know! I've been meaning to do one of those for ages as lots of people have asked me. I do everything in Premier Pro with AE/Photoshop/Midjourey Ai. This will definitly happen 🌴😊

it's a cool track but the disparity between vibes of the track and the video is throwing me off a bit ngl. When I hear ambient / "intelligent" jungle i don't really think of shooting people in the face lol but I guess that's a 90s thing as well.

    • @groovining
      @groovining  23 дня назад +1

Yea fair enough. I do agree intelligent jungle is usually more chilled vibes but in the 90's it was being used for everything. Just has that futuristic sound a lot of games/movies were often going for. 🌴😊
