    Can of Chang 😋! You and Lorna have gone all in , I love it !! Beautiful house , beautiful car and what a bike to tour Thailand 🤩.. we’re still on our 1st holiday here , started in chiang mai , travelled up to Chiang rai , now down on ko lanta .. 6 weeks in total. I was just thinking of all the things I like about this country , and there is far to many to write !! We played pickle ball in chiang mai , have a go , it’s great fun and there is a great bunch of expats that go too ! I couldn’t think of anything better than exploring Thailand on a Harley .. lovely looking bike 👌👌… can’t see us ever moving , my girlfriend loves England and all the seasons .. ⛄️!! I just love the climate here ☀️.. I have subscribed and I will keep watching , you’ve set yourselves up for a fantastic retirement 👍👍.. You’l love taking the bike up north , Chiang rai , then up the mountain roads .. Regards. Neil.

      @@consulthai Thanks for taking the time to comment, much appreciated. I guess we've always been the types that once we have a plan we commit to actioning it 100,%.
      We also did a fair bit of research before doing anything and put trust in those we have actioned the bigger things through. So far so good.

      I thought about shipping our Road King over here but after looking into the importation duty cost of up to 70% based on the valuation here in Thailand I thought not. We were better off to buy here.

    Hi congrats on your new and beautiful bike. I'd like to ask you a question.
    I live in Europe, in Italy, and I would like to buy a new Road king special. I know that now the bikes are being built/assembled in thailand for the European market. I was a bit hesitant at first and under the impression that the bike arrived totally disassembled but I see now that the bike artives in a box and is 90% assembled. So what exactly do they assemble on the bikes for the European market?
    Thank you so much for your time and patience. I really appreciate it as there isn't any info. On this topic. Have a wonderful journey with your wife.🙏

      Hi thanks for the comment and well wishes. From my understanding (and you may have heard from a better source than me) Harley bring in the parts to Thailand and assemble the bike here (I'm not sure of the pre-assembly percentage but I'll ask next week when I call into Richco Harley here in Chiang Mai). What I've been told is the bike componentry is imported into Thailand as this helps in lowering the taxation on the bike.( But not by much. A lot more expensive here than in Australia). Also Harley sends bikes to China via Thailand. As you know many exports between the countries have come under trade sanctions recently. So having a Thailand plant helps keep the market afloat in that respect.
      I only encountered one small problem on the day I picked the bike up and that was the gear shifter was positioned too low. I think being positioned for a smaller foot size than my size 12. 😂
      Cheers John

    So my wife is half thai we just left left thailand were back in the united states about to sell our home and moving to chiang mai with our children my question is im looking to buy a second hand Dyna and throw s&s 124ci on it can i ship parts from the states to the land of smiles?

    • @roadsandrevelations
      @roadsandrevelations  3 месяца назад

      You can ship parts from the States to Thailand. Plenty of that going on here. In fact I have a friend importing an S&S gear cam and other components at the moment.. But ... Be prepared for import Tax of around 30% to be added on arrival. That is of course if you're buying them afterwards.
      You would have gathered that it's pretty much unviable to bring a complete bike into Thailand. Are you shipping any personal belongings over? If so get back to me.

    Hey guys great video. Are these the same exact bikes that are built in USA and only assembled in thai? If so, what exactly do they assemble? Thanks

    • @roadsandrevelations
      @roadsandrevelations  9 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for taking time out to comment. Yes the exact bikes. They import the parts and assemble the bikes at the factory located in Ban Pluak Daeng, Rayong, Thailand. They assemble the full range with the exception of the Trikes (correct me if I'm wrong). Harley seem to have parts being make all over the globe these days and shipped to central assembly points for manufacture.

      @@enrico1856 when I ordered my Ultra it was assembled to order meaning the dealer placed the order directly to the factory and it was delivered 2 weeks later. My first experience of having that happen.

      Wow never heard of that before... Does that means it was completely assembled in USA ?

    • @roadsandrevelations
      @roadsandrevelations  9 месяцев назад +1

      @@enrico1856 No, assembled in the Rayong, Thailand factory and shipped up to Chiang Mai. If it had come from the USA I'd probably only have received it.
      Its good for the dealers as they don't have to hold the floor stock on the more expensive models. It's the same for the CVOs here.
