This is the same mechanism as the Poulan 2050 chainsaw. Mine quit working and after taking apart I was unable to figure out the handle reassembly which you show and explain so that I was able to restore the operation on my saw. No broken parts, it just didn't engage so thank you so very much for helping stay safe while using my chainsaw. As anniversary4 commented 3 years ago, your video is Quick, Precise, Clearly shot, and On Point to fix the problem. Thank you again!!!
Thanks for a quick yet precise video. Just the right emphasis on installing the brake handle. I'm fixing one for a friend and the brake was stuck on and then forced onto the machine. Your video showed exactly what the prior assembler did wrong!
Excellent, I finally fixed this my McCulloch 2618CAV chain saw brake and handle spring with your two videos. This chainsaw sat around for months waiting for parts due to COVID19 shipping issues. It is a great relief to finally getting this little baby going again. Cheers.
Thank you. I appreciate the verbal instruction as well as the physical demonstration. It will help me get things back together. BTW, God helped me find the spring - I didn't know there was a spring under that little cover. When it came off, the spring shot out into the woods. God is good all the time. No anxiety - just began looking among the pine needles and cones, after a prayer for assistance. The God I worship helps me even in the smallest of things as well as with the big things. Or as they say in AA "Don't sweat the small stuff. It's all small stuff". Blessings to you and yours.
@@channelron3593 Sure did, dropped a few burnt trees that did not recover from the bushfires on the weekend, could not have done it without your video.
GREAT VID! RATHER THAN TAKE MINE APART, I NOTICED HOW YOU STOOD UP THE HANDLE AND PULLED BACK ON WHILE IT WAS SITTING ON YOUR TABLE.....THAT DID IT FOR ME. WITH A BIT OF FORCE, I MANAGED TO RESET. THANKS AGAIN. NOW TO FUEL/START IT!
You must have a weak spring because i cant get the spring squeezed enough to get it to fit in the slot like you did with a screwdriver.. mine when i got that last screw almost out the spring shot across the room and broke that screw hole out.. i have to put the spring in with the handle disconnected then wedge it in and get the little thing to hold it in place..
The saw is only working if i constant put the handle backwards. Is it normal? And sometimes my handle 'clicks trough' and it doesn't work anymore. I can move the handle forward en backword with no resistance. When i open it the long spiral spring is on pressure en pussed against the cover. I replace the spiral spring and it works for a while, then i have the same problem. Is the problem in the handle? Should i remove the handle and place it over again or replace it with an new?
I have a McCulloch 2618CAV with exactly the same design brake assembly. There is a spring inside the black hand that fell out onto the floor. How do you put it back in and what is its orientation.
Good video Ron. I was just trying to fix my Jonsered 630 Super chainsaw brake handle. It looks similar to yours. I took mine apart and cleaned it. My brake trips way to easy, even after I cleaned it. Can't hardly run it because it constantly trips. Do you know what would make it trip so easy? I didn't see anything wrong with the knee joint level arm. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Hi Ron, great video. But could you show us how to orient the locking spring that's inside the handle? Mine fell out, and for the life of me I can't quite figure out how it's supposed to go back in. Thanks.
Wow. Well without taking it apart again I am not sure :( I know this does not help you, I will try to show more detail on next video, sorry that I could not help.
Hey, I had the same problem. I found a video of a different Husqvarna model but with a similar chain brake. It helped me with putting my 136 back together. ruclips.net/video/w42sJQrgAvM/видео.html I don't want to promote another channel here. Just hoping it helps people :)
I have same problem. Need to know how the spring goes back into the handle. Good video but you don't show how the spring goes back into the handle. I'm stuck.

Thank you so much! This was the only video which explained how to put the handle back in correctly. Mine is a Poulan 4218. Job done.

There's a spring type thing that came out of the grey part of the handle on my 141 that I can't figure out how it goes in. I didn't see it come out.
Hmm I thought I showed how it goes back in, I may have to revise this.
